    The Suns had the 2nd worst record in the NBA and they're picking 6th lol.

    I had noticed that there was no large outcry from the NY media, like Eisen, on the draft process before the draft. They all thought that Zion had a good chance of heading to NY.
    As a big media center, the NY media was the only one keeping the Knicks relevant in the NBA.

    Every time you mention Howard Beck on your show, it reminds me how good our school newspaper's sports page was during my time as a student. And I'll admit fully that I took it for granted at the time.

    This years lottery had a somewhat unlikely outcome, but the percentage probabilities were fine.

    In the grand scheme of things, maybe not the best but better than it was. In the NBA moats teams are elite or terrible. Hinke used this to begin the process. With the new draft lottery owners will at least think twice abt obvious tanking at end of year which makes end of season more watchable which is another complaint abt the NBA.
    Rich may want to brush up on his NBA. I haven't heard anyone pick Barrett over Morant. He may not even be a lock st 3 due to potential non-compatibility with KD/Kyrie.

    Can he not go back to Duke?

      @Erik Lerström he won't lose a gazillion $$$. The rookie payscale locks him in for a certain salary. But he's not going back to Duke.

    NO, Memphis, and LA have no business being in the top 5. Now because the league is so eager to prevent tanking they've just hurt 4 struggling franchises that desperately needed to be in the top 5. So now fans have to sit and watch their team be atrocious all year just to end up with the 6th or 7th pick? To even HOPE they get in the top 5? How are teams supposed to rebuild? The new format is a joke.

    • @lildwell2
      @lildwell2 Před 4 lety

      That’s not an issue. The real problem is that the majority of teams have short owners that can’t compete.

      Certainly a wild result when you see two 6% teams get 1 & 2 and a 2% chance get 4 while you had a 14% team get 3 & 6. The goal certainly makes sense and if you want to provide some sort of incentive where a good team can get a top pick but have a very low chance like let’s say the Magic in 1993 where they barely miss the playoffs and improve by like 20 games and as a result have the lowest chance to get the top pick but end up getting it while the worst records still had a really strong chance of getting it I can live with that. But the change as it is now is concerning. I get the desperation to not tank but for a league so desperate for some form of parity the idea that a team doesn’t perform as well to rebuild to then be a better team but rather fans have to see their team be absolutely inept and then they may not even get a top pick and just be in a repeating cycle of being inept. If teams are truly desperate to prevent clear taking then take a teams pick ir something but seeing genuine struggling teams play hard and they just aren’t good enough and then not getting one of those picks while teams that are fairly good get top picks will always be tough. I’m still always good with the NFLs system.

    James Dolan should sell the team. The basketball Gods don't like him.

    Sorry, but the NBA reveals its hand during the draft lottery. Pelicans land the 1st pick, Lakers land the 4th... when AD wants out, and the Lakers want him? That is all waaaaaayyyyy too convenient...
    It’s like the Cavs getting the #1 overall pick so many times after LeBron left. You have a better chance of getting struck by lightning than winning the #1 pick as many times as they did.

      The last thing the NBA wants is for Zion to go to a small market team.
