US attorney here. Every case can be appealed and will be as part of due diligence to a client. However, lower court judges, like Merchan, measure their success as a judge by how view of their decisions are positively appealed. The way an appeal is successful is only if there is appealable error. Merchan is KNOWN to be a VERY thoughtful jurist with very few decisions reversed. Frankly, it’s amazing to watch that man work! He’s the best of the best.
Adding to my previous comment…if that happens, Libby, and Trump’s team do not appeal, then it will be precisely because of what I said above. Merchan is KNOWN to be the type of judge who has very few appeals against his decisions be successful. He is that methodical, that professional, that amazing. It was a pleasure to “watch” him work via Meidas Touch. That entire case, frankly, was insane with how amazing the prosecutors prosecuted the case, and how amazing Judge Merchan was as a jurist. Impeccable is one way to describe it.

Trump had his attorneys file an appeal to remove Judge Merchan off this case. Merchan rejected it. They have filed several more appeals and Judge Merchan told them to stop filing frivolous appeals as they keep on sending the same appeal that says the same thing over and over again. Does Trump not understand that Scotus can't interfere with State Criminal cases?
OK so the amazing judge has just made it un appealable do to his due- diligence to the case. , did I get that right , do we get a little break about worrying if the orange clown gets in office,

This court case is very hard to appeal because the Judge didn't do anything wrong and the Prosecutors did a great job in laying out the evidence. That's why Judge Merchan kept his mouth shut when Donnie got his surrogates to speak on his behalf. He kept his cool so they have no technicalities to appeal on.

Thank you for reading on this Libby. I don't think he'll get the sentence he deserves. But I think it'll be a very large monetary one, but if he gets again jail time I'll be surprised.
Trump will get some jail time. Looking at the worst of the convictions in the state of NY; Trump’s is by far the most egregious out of all of them. And the worst offenders got jail time. Remember those 10 contempt of court guilty charges have to be in the sentencing too. Each charge can be 30 days of jail. I say Trump gets 8 months jail time; judge suspends 7 months with a probation of 3 years. If Trump violates his probation he goes back in for 7 months. Trump will also get a fine.

Unless he has option to plead guilty with reduced sentence he can tolerate- or go straight to prison/jail. If he takes a plea there wouldn’t be anything to appeal (if I understand correctly)

Thank you for your insight. In a previous reading, you talked about Trump being stopped from running due to his vascular event. If that event happens after sentencing, then an appeal wouldn't be necessary.
That event might just be a panic attack which mimics heart issues.

MY FEELING IS THAT JUDGE MERCHAN WILL MOVE THE SENTENCING TO THE 20TH, THUS GIVING 3 DAYS FOR 45'S LAWYERS TO FILE THEIR APPEAL TO THE IMMUNITY RULING INSTEAD OF ONLY 1 DAY.
They need to wait til after the election to sentence him. He'll never give him jail time as long as he's running for president. When he loses, send him to jail.
Once he loses it's going to be like a train hitting him. All the court cases are going to start back up and he will no longer be handled with kid gloves.
He can be sentenced with a deferral

Unfortunately I’m not so certain the sentencing will even be given on September 18th. More delay will be put in process. Wouldn’t surprise me at all. 👎

Just such an evil imagining, but still fitting for the Convict-in-Chief, the BINO, the”Yeti”. Karma has so much in his life to get him on.
