- www.AdamTheWoo.com - PLEASE RATE & SUBSCRIBE - I hunted down the filming locations for the 1991 classic movie. Some of the spots were easy to find and some were near impossible. It was a challenge but a lot of fun. Enjoy !

It's quite unbelievable how sad I am about the state of that tree now.
FatFaced Elf I know what you mean. Sending hugs :) ...and your face is not fat.
It is a little.. Our donations are doing good.
:(
Its not a real tree. Its metal.
I know, but it's sad AF
That lady was so nice to let you in her home to film the movie location.
+Brian Barcus If that was in New York or LA they would have told you to get lost.
Brian Barcus People there are rude.
Brian Barcus yeah !
I started to get sad when I saw the old willow tree
The willow died to know whatever happened to Maculay Culkin.
@@mikejunior211 with the hurricanes this area has endured after the filming of this movie, my guess is that is what killed it. A lot of trees in 04 were destroyed by hurricane charley that came through that area.
I'm from Sanford. I remember being in the 6th grade and they had some of the streets blocked off while filming. Great memories!
Joe Begala Are you still in that area?
Omg I was crying xD this movie gets me every time even when it just shows small clips from it
If this was the film I think it is when that boy dies I was as well
Same
Friends of my parents actually donated the caskets that were used in the movie.
Thank you Adam, for the memories, and, for the trip to locations, for the movie My Girl. It's one of my favorite movies.
Your shots of the weeping willow tree,
made me so sad, and made me think of Vada's poem she wrote, after Thomas J. had died.
The movie made me long for the simpler, innocent days of youth. Like in the movie though, things can happen, like death, that you can't be prepared for, especially as a child, and some have to learn, that things are no longer simple, and innocent, and, they never can, or will be again. . . 😞💔
It was sad seeing the dock and tree not doing so well
I feel so nostalgic, it's been 23 years since I watched the movie for the first time! I feel bad about the end, that was such a beautiful tree! Thanks for taking the time to do these videos! Greetings from Costa Rica :)
its so sad the tree and dock are gone! :(
They didn't actually film inside the house, they built an almost exact replica in the studio (which explains the non-existent cellar, as it's clear in the film that there are stairs down). They didn't want to film in the house as the guy that owned it at the time was an artist who ran an antiques business, and they were scared of damaging something.
I'm amazed squirrels can scurry across a brick wall like that, or maybe the force is strong with this one.
Adam, some of your videos, like this one-- Pure Gold 👍🏻
Awesome blast from the past. I was born and raised in Sanford so I remember them filming way back then. I still live close to the area but looking back is always a tearjerker. Lots of changes to the area.
My city :-) I lived on a few of those streets that you showed. Where the house was and where the funeral home was. I was just at that library downtown. Where the houses are, we call that Georgetown. That is more of the historic side. The girl in this video with you imitated Vida to the T, lol, even the way she ran. Except for both hands on the stair railing, but everything else was spot on. Awesome job :-) I enjoyed this. I was born and raised here :-)
Thanks for this video, I love it. The Sultenfuss house is the house of my dreams. I'd love to see it some day.
"That tree said it all
That was the past this is the now
One day we will all be gone
But the power of film will live on"
We look at that tree with memories of the film in the same way Veda did in memory of Thomas J.. Thats the beauty!!
This is my favorite childhood movie of all time. It is amazing how you were able to find the film locations. I can tell you are obsessed with this movie! Great job!
Thanks for this so much, sad film so good you got to go in the old parlour, that tree though 😭
awesome job, Adam! Loved your attention to detail! the then and now segments were great. wish more movie memories could be preserved....
Wow! Fabulous video Adam!! Interesting to see what has changed over the years and what has remained the same.
Great! I got this on DVD and also watched it a couple of times, loved it. Thanks for finding the locations.
This is amazing how you filmed this. This is very sad to see the willow tree ending up like that. Thank you very much for this update. Very touching and beautiful. My Girl was definitely the movie I grew up with.
My Girl is such a sweet film... great to see the locations and your editing on this is on point! 👏🏻
You were there in a great moment because now nobody can entranse, not even in the backyard! Great video, beautiful movie. Thank you!
Your videos rock, Adam! I love it when folks are kind enough to let you inside their homes for some photos
Thanks for the great flashback of memories. I live in FL and had no idea this was filmed here. Awesome video. Keep up the awesome entertainment!!
Seeing the willow tree and dock as they are today, made me so sad=( Would have loved to see those one day.
The willow tree was fake, they made it themselves out of steel (when they made the film), the dock obviously wasn't looked after so the wood started disintegrating/rotting
One of my favorite movies. Great video!
Dude, this video is absolutely amazing! I highly admire all the work that you did, this is one of my favorite movies, it was so nice to see what everything is like 20 years later, I might be going to Florida early next year and I would love to run into the 'Parlor'! I love the reenactments! Really nice job!! :)
this was and still is my FAVOURITE MOVIE EVER!!!!
That was truly amazing. The end of the scene really got me. We have all climbed that one tree, we have all etched our names into it. Hoping that our names and our experience would be inmoratalized. To see the tree gone and to see the deterioration of that once big gorgeous tree, choked me up. Maybe it’s because it represents us, and how strong and fragile our existence is.
Lol deep af
I saw the movie a lot in the early 90's as my daughter was young then & loved it. I've lived in Sanford 8 years now & never knew they filmed a lot of it here. Thanks for the cool post.
loving ur videos Adam!!Especially love this one cos it was one of my favorite movies..thanks!!
Thank's for sharing! 52 and going on 53, time goes by! Wish I could be 32 going on 33 again! Helps to age by reading you all!!!!! Have a great 2015 summer!!!!
once again Adam a great video. they just keep get better and better. Thank You for doing them.
really great job with this one.... the last minute or so with the original voice over was really great! Thank you, this video brought back a lot of great memories.
My mother in law lives in the my girl house it's cool to go in after seeing the movie and thinking of the stars that was once there
That's amazing!
BroskyWhoDatedHoski it was the Stanford inn
It’s in Bartow Florida
My uncle was in charge of the city of Bartow’s electric department and they helped the crew with their electric needs
In appreciation Jammie Lee Curtis gave my uncle a kiss
Such a beautiful way for you to end this video. I waited throughout this whole thing to see the tree and the dock where they had their infamous kiss. So sad to see that the tree is pretty much gone and the dock is all broken. I bet you were REALLY bummed when you discovered that. Actually made me tear up a little....and then I was like....why am I almost crying? LOL
This was my fave movie. Love how you make these!
Not sure what it takes to locate and visit these film locations but thanks! I love it and find it so interesting. I've even got a few of my friends into it.
Thanks so much for this !!! Awesome Job !
Absolutely LOVE this movie. Thanks for finding the spots.
I just found your channel and i really love it great videos, this is my favorite movie!!!!!!!
This was cool 😎 Adam. I don't think I ever watched this. I'll to watch it sometime. Thanks for sharing this.
I just came here from the future .....well maybe just todays retake of this filming location! great work Adam!
+sass clenaghen I did the same thing lol , I don't think the tree footage in this video was his though, didn't look like his style, that's why he has the new video from today, he found the tree :)
+sani 86 I think it's his footage of the tree as well. He said in the new video he wished he would have focused more on the little dock because now that's gone :(
One of my favorite episodes from your channel
just bought the my girl 1 and 2 in a combo dvd set yesterday these movies are definitely a classic
I live in Sanford, and love the movie. I work in the 4 story white building at the end of the alley where the buildings are gone.
I love that you include clips of the actual movie within your vids
WOW, you just keep getting better and better. Thanks
The funny part about 11:20 when Dan Akroyd is talking about charcoal in pre-measured bags is that Kingsford introduced a similar product several years ago.
You had to show THAT scene! Gets me everytime.
Great video! I especially loved the ending :)
Excellent video as always Adam, amazing how you always find the exact location where certain scenes were filmed.
the Ending of this video Put tears in my eyes. I love Vada's Poem and i'm with mrticgamer
on the Willow tree Sad to see its falling apart
Love the movie...
Can't believe much of the set is still alive
Sad about the tree and the dock
Good job finding them!
This was great. I had just finished watching the movie for the IDK time and wondered where this was filmed looked it up and found this. great video.. :)
I remember bawling my eyes out over this movie. I was 10.
Great Job!!! I loved the way that you ended this video.
This video brought tears to my eyes. Thank you, sir.
This is incredible work Adam! You should put your work on the silver screen or get your own TV show. Awesome work! The tree and bridge flashback was amazing. Brought a smile to my face.
I used to live in the house that they filmed that in. I was pleased to see Adam went there and made this video!
My girl film was shot in Florida but in the movie was Penselvania and first I didn't noticed it until I see this video thanks man for sharing I'm a huge fan of the Drama sad movie its awesome to see where exactly was filming , keep it up bro..
Amazing you were able to find all these locations and to actually be able to go in to the house.
Wanna go tree climbing Thomas Jay?
This may be the most charming video I have ever seen. The giddiness & enthusiasm in your voice & the fact that you chose this film! So under-rated! Its also one of my all time favorites, I too have memorized the entire movie and always loved the town & their bikes! I still feel like Veda and I would have been best friends.
For awhile I insisted on wearing a Mood-ring like hers. A bit on the scarce side trying to locate in my 90's childhood, but that's neith
wonderful video adam, thanks :)
damn, this might have been my favorite vid of yours yet. as much as i love all the abandoned locations, its pretty fascinating to learn about the rich movie history the state of florida actually has. i honestly had no idea my girl was filmed here until you made this video. shame on my ignorance and thank you for your passion and dedication! :)
so flippin' cool!!! I used to own the hearse from the movie!
awesome job! I was blown away.
such a great movie same seeing the old tree made me sad
I actually loved my girl x thank you for this x
Wow. Dude you should of taken one of the dock boards back with you!!
I've been to the area where that clock tower is. My mom loves My Girl and pointed out while we were out there once years ago that it was from the movie. Glad you filmed the locations for this movie. I immediately shared it with my mom after watching the video myself. Don't know when she'll actually watch it. Thanks for doing this one.
I'm a Muslim & I love this film so much makes me sad how time flies. Good old days. Best 90s kid film ever ❤️💋💋💋
13:24 you did a really good putting this part together man. Its incredible to see one of hollywood's most classic moments in history, impacted with the reality of time and reality. The tree is still there and so is the bridge... thats great bro
Love All your videos Thank you for sharing
Thanks for another great video. Love your work keep it up!!!!!!
This was awesome! Thanks.
Wow! I really loved this video! I would love to know these places.
Oh my goodness! I love that you did this location. I am 8 1/2 months pregnant with twin girls and I'm naming one of them Vada after this movie :) Thanks so much for doing what you do, it is very much so enjoyed and appreciated :)
Can you do My Girl 2?
So I just came across your videos today, I have literally been sitting here for 6 hours watching....lol Yes I have no life! I love this one, my girls was one of my favorite movies!! But I gotta tell you the tree at the end was a real bummer. Thanks for doing what you do!! Keep it up!! Love the videos!!
Such a great movie! Great job Adam, really enjoyed it :)
I always wanted to know how the movie location looks like today.
I felt very emotional!
Thank you for that!!
omg so sad to see its so many memories, love the video
It's so freaking cool what you do! Wish I could do that 2! Keep making movies. :)
I can't believe I grew up there and never knew my girl was filmed there, loved the movie too.
Awesome video. Thank you!
The ending... Right in the feels. :(
Great movie! I loved it when I when I was a kid. Nice of them to let you see the inside of the house.
Damn fine work! The squirrel conversation was funny as well :D ; that's starting to become a reoccurring theme; with the random squirrel shots in various videos.
That is the old Plant City High School which now houses a model railroad club display.
Interesting stuff as always.Great video,man!
Once again demonstrating why you are the man. Great Video
....For awhile I insisted on wearing a Mood-ring like hers. A bit on the scarce side trying to locate in my 90's childhood, but that's neither here nor there.
The point is, despite the foreknowledge I have of the fate awaiting poor TJ going back to retrieve the ring - that scene with her on the staircase listening to the wake that you edited brilliantly, interspersing how it looks today, made me cry. In a good way!
Well done, I'm sure Harry Sultenfuss & the gang and the Sennet family are prou
R.I.P. Ann Nelson. She Played Gramma Sultenfuss. also did Airplane in 1980.
Great work as usual! Would love to see you do "Risky Business" or "Brainscan" locations!
That ending was for real tears man i thought of when thomas jay died. Now i have kids his age it shakes me to see that now
I'm a new subscriber but am loving these videos! We've got to be about the same age with the same nostalgia interest! You need your own show on the Travel Channel or something!!
