It is very sad and a huge misnomer that people have prejudice and generalize that south Indians cannot speak good Hindi. The only reason, South Indians, specially folks from Tamil Nadu cannot grasp Hindi easily is because of the state politics and they are not exposed to Hindi at all. There used to be misnomer that North Indians cabnot grasp good English, which is also not true. So lets bot fall prey to our prejudices anymore. Language grasp is upto an individual and their amount of exposure to that language when they are young. I can speak 5 Indian languages and English ( Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati) and I can safely say Hindi is my first language and I am very proud to be a Tamil.

She could have saved herself by NOT marrying a married man and destroying a marriage (and family) and instead looking for a bachelor. Remember she herself wanted to be with Raj Kapoor to further her career. And she had a choice of NOT working with Raj Kapoor after his wife gave him ultimatum of not working with Vyjayantimala. She had all the power of saying NO to him.
Hema Malini also did the same thing, married an already married man, when she already had proposals from Sanjeev Kumar and Jeetender. Incase of Hema Malini, Dharmender's wife did not ask for a hefty price. Dr. Bali's first wife did.
However, you spin it, Vyjayantimal BOUGHT her husband because she wanted to buy marriage and the status it gave her. Not because she wanted to save herself from someone. She was not that innocent.

There were MANY actresses during the Raj Kapoor time. Except for Nargis (around that time) nobody else was "at the clutches" of Raj Kapoor. It takes two to tango. Assuming RK approached other actresses, why was it only Vyjayantimala got trapped??? Vyjayantimala had been in the industry for quite sometime. Her dream was to work with Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor and she manipulated such that she got movies first with Dilip Kumar (Naya Daur, after Madhubala exited the movie mid-production) and then with RK in Sangam. She tried to ww Dilip Kumar but he was very much involved with Madhubala and he did not entertain Vyjayantimala. He did become her good friend and well wisher. He, in fact, told her NOT to do Sangam with RK, but she insisted and went against his advice. For RK , she was an easy target, because of HER WILLINGNESS (unlike other actresses during that time). And when the involvement went too far, she used RK's dr. as a cover up to keep up her image and continue working in the industry. When Nargis could walk away from RK, anybody could walk away, especially Vyjayantimala. She was no fool.

Her role was way ahead of time and her pairing with raj Kapoor was superb.Heard she also got pregnant during overseas shooting with raj and had to abort the child.Rishi was very crossed at her dor being other woman in his dad life.

@@r.22r Being a woman I say, it takes two to destroy a home. The "other" women always have a choice of saying no. Asha Parekh said no to a married man although they were in love. Hema Malini had 2 proposals from bachelors (sanjeev Kumar & Jeetender) and yet she agreed to break a home and marry a womanizer (who later went on to have other affairs). Nargis (hers and RK's affair was well known and talked about even today) walked out and also had the decency and morals to apologize to Krishna Kapoor for having an affair with her husband. That is a class act. Some men are immoral and womanizer. But if the other women in their life refuse to indulge, then these men will be taught a lesson in morals and ethics. Marrying a married man is basically a woman against a woman.
