This works great on the default map, but when I use it in my level, a lot of them seem to spawn halfway in the ground and can't move.
Thanks for this. Although, you're not spawning a random enemy here. You're spawning the same instance of the BP_Enemy. It would be great to see different NPCs in an array, getting randomly spawned as well.
How do I keep the enemies from spawning too close to the player?
Hi Gorka, please are you able to possibly make a video in the rpg series on how to add a slower detection system to the AI? At the moment the AI detect you instantly upon seeing the player, Thanks if you do!
Delay node?
@ileflottante1114 theoretically this is correct but the problem is it will delay enemy detection regardless of situation, e.g player is already detected, enemies will still have to pass through the delay code to assist other enemies in fighting.
Also the delay node on its own will still function as previous, so say the player passes through enemy detection for 0.1 seconds, well the enemy will still spot the player and go to them after the delay is finished.
What I'm hoping gorka can do is show us a proper detection system inside the AI code so the AI will need to be looking at the player for e.g 3 seconds out of combat before they spot the player and can begin chasing them, and then inside combat the AI will automatically spot the player, something like that if its possible!
@@Flluxi yeah that system would be good to know, I imagine it's deep in the ai trees.
It would be cool to have a tutorial on how to have spawning animations for single mob targets aka a pile of bones on the ground triggers when you walk next to it and rises into the mob that then chases you

how can i configure the enemy spawner to work on landscapes?
I had the same problem. In Spawn Actor from class (BP_EnemySpawner blueprint) you need to change "Collision Handling Override" from default to "Try To Adjust Location, But Always Spawn". Hope it helps

im not sure why, but within my project, i take controll over every actor that spawns. and the once i dont controll dont move towards the player :/ even tho i activated the placed in world or spawned
In the Ai blueprint, under the pawn tab, look for auto posscess player, turn that off

Something that I find zero information on... Inside of ai senses it has checks for noticing allies, enemies, and neutrals. How and where do we set what counts as these categories? Nobody goes into this
That is c++ related and has no real implications inside of blueprints from what I've been hearing. If you wanted to implement checking for ally you could probably just use tags

My current plan for my project is to have an actor in the world that decides to spawn either an enemy spawner or a friendly outpost, once I have that made I'll link a video showing how I did it.
