- Road Trip in the Scottish Highlands during Winter Snow in Scotland full itinerary here www.bangorni.com/scotland-roa.... We arrived in mid-January during yellow and amber weather warnings when the mountains are blanketed in extremely thick snow. Our road trip through the Scottish Highlands begins with the crossing from Belfast to Cairnryan with Stenaline (www.stenaline.co.uk/) when we continue on to Loch Lomond. The snow filled road trip then begins the next day as we continue to Glen Coe through the Scottish Highlands, and from there we cross east to west with a night in Pitlochry passing Loch Tay. Then it is north to the Cairngorms and Aviemore, famous for its ski resorts, and pine forests. Onwards we travel to Loch Ness, in passing, as we continue to the Isle of Skye and the far north east corners of Scotland. Catching amazing winter and snow filled scenery along the way. From the Isle of Skye we then return to the Glen Coe area, staying at Fort William beneath the Nevis Range, Scotland's tallest mountain. Then from Fort William we exit the highlands with a night near Saint Andrews and not far from Dundee.

The Scottish highlands remain as one of the most beautiful places in the world in winter, in my opinion.
Joshua Stewart Agreed :) Might go back specifically for the North West 200 this winter.
I bailed at the first fifteen second advert, before a second had elapsed.
Welcome to Scotland!
miss my haggis suppers :(
Really great vid. Reminded me of when my wife first touched snow, she loved it for 10 minutes! 555!🤣
These snowy excursions are routine for us now. The complete opposite of relentless 30' heats :D
Wow it's beautiful, that's europe.
Thanks for sharing your experience, we went to Scotland this past May. Loved your video, music, humor, sheep interviews. We are going back, and hope to see Orkney Islands.
Thanks Teknotech. Coincidentally, we just arrived in Scotland yesterday for a 7-day road trip. Still shocked by the scenery and landscapes of this place. We started near Ayr, went through Oban, and now in Fortwilliam :)
I was there in May too.
I stayed in Oban (Drove to GlenCoe/Glen Etive) & then moved across to Dunkeld. It was my first trip to Scotland & hopefully the first of many to come :)
Stunning even in the Winter , wow!!!
Thanks for sharing💜
Stay safe!
The car made it back okay, barely. Two tows later :)
I'm going to Scotland in January 2022. After watching this video I'm really looking forward to it now.
I think we got lucky (or possibly unlucky for some) with the weather. Guaranteed a bit of snow tho in the higher climbs :)
Scotland, Celtic land oh lord bless x
Beautifully captured, I love it! 💛
she's beautiful
Wow soo lovely
Nicely captured 👌🏼
Beautiful
Thanks for this video :D
The ruins reminds me of uncharted 4
Taking my first trip to Edinburgh and the Highlands in early Feb. Can't wait!
Cool me too...😊
One should forever typically forget one's melancholy in a place where earth meets sky.....
We going to Scotland in mid February, Édimburgh, west coast.of Highlands, Skye , Glencoe...we hope some snow!
Whatttt a place😲🙌👌👌
Wow amazing beautiful 💖💖💖
My dream...💖💖💖
Hi Allan, I’m so amazed to see your video. I’m planning on a trip in the mid December. How would you recommend it if your answer is yes I’d like to know more about your route.
Hi Wasula. Here's what we wrote about it here: www.bangorni.com/glacier-express-route-eurail-pass/
Amazing! Do you need a winter tyres? I am planning to drive up to Cairngorms at the beginning of January and can't find any info about tyres. Highly appreciated!
Abdulla Safaev we didn’t have snow tyres. And they were probably barely road worthy in normal conditions. We brought our scraper car across from Northern Ireland which never really sees snow or the cold. For safety reasons etc snow tyres are probably best. But we managed without :)
good stuff
I’m from Scotland p
🥶🥶😱
Great video. Looking to do a Scottish winter road trip in February. Was it safe to drive? Would you recommend it? I am Canadian so snow doesn’t scare me however we have snow tires
insight-imaging.ca would forever recommend it. I was driving a “scrapper” as we call them, barely roadworthy. Roads are pretty much empty as well because most folk are not used to snow :)
@@allanwilson Christ, must not snow much in the UK. That's sad. Over here in the States, it's a regular occurrence in winter.
God Emperor of Mankind this isn’t true , up here in the north of Scotland there’s snow all winter , however the other parts of the UK don’t really get snow .
I am planning to go during christmas Break and can't wait for it. But is it safe to drive there as I have never driven in snowy areas before.
This weather here was very unusual. Christmas time should be fine :)
Nice video! I have a question: how many othet tourists or locale can you face doing this trip in winter?
Lorenzo Giraudi really very few at times. On the isle of Skye it was 1 car every 5 mins but it would be busier close to the bigger areas like Fortwilliam and the route past Glencoe. I documented the journey in the link below.
I'm going to be in Scotland in 2 weeks. I'm scared of driving in the snow on my own. 😢
Don’t worry about it. I don’t think there has been worse snow since and it’s always after Christmas (Jan-Feb) I’m near sure. I was driving a scrapper with crap tires and made it okay 👍
You won't find so much snow here in December. Don't worry.
Nice trips Alan😊👍, me and my wife planning go to Loch Ness, Glancoe and Highland in this 27 Dec by car (drive by our self) . Is it possible 1 day trip for all place we want to visit ? Thanks
Yes, should be no problem. I would base in Fortwilliam and travel in a loop from there. It shouldn’t be as snowy at that time at least.
@@allanwilson Thank You verry much Allan. 😀🙏🙏🙏
Hi Allan . I am from Malaysia and have never been to UK . Planning to do roadtrip in scotland around first week of December along with a young kid . Is the weather gonna be bad for driving around that time? Thanks.
Hey Wong. Snow is rare in Scotland and what we experienced is almost never. December should be completely fine. I think it was Feb when we were travelling. Enjoy Scotland :)
Which month was this taken 😍
Lot of snow i been to Loch Lomond. You have good eyesight i couldn't see the monster.
We got lucky 🍀 it doesn’t often snow like that
It is better without music :)
Normally all our videos have natural sounds e.g. czcams.com/video/8I6XwRq_pnQ/video.html but most sound on this was taken either inside the car or by drone so its a lot of car radios and silence. So a crappy royalty free backing track has to do ;) or the mute button.
Kuliner Medan so is a maroon five concert
I think its grand!😊
Amazing presentation, love winter in Scotland. But wasn’t keen on the people who were not that friendly.
What do you do to upset them ? .
@@jgalt155 guessing they’re not that friendly
I love and miss Scotland, the people were so lovely and welcoming, you don't get that in England, too many blacks that don't speak English.
Lol that’s a little bit general. I live in England where there are over 40 million people and I can assure you there are many friendly people....black, white, green and yellow.
Racism is not really a problem in Scotland thankfully. We are an inclusive nation, and value the social input from immigrants of any colour, especially those involved in the NHS at this moment in time.
disgustingly racist of you
no need for racism mate but yeah agree with you a bit. Places like London or Burmingham are beyond help.
Wow....get a grip.
We also did this amazing place to see in the winter months!
