16 and a half years later... I come back to this masterpiece. I have such amazing memories with this mix... Ha, long live underground
This is the dubstep that very few people in the US think of when someone says 'dubstep.' How unfortunate; such great tunes from the early years of the genre.
that's what tf I'm saying
I'm from the US and anytime someone mentions dubstep I instantly think of Digital Mystikz and Loefah
Only found dub because of the boys doing it big across the pond. Respect
@@Hardjumpstylez always think of rusko, caspa, benga and skream when i think of actual dub. while others here in the us immediately think skrillex.....and i die inside
@@mattp3518 that is real dub.. Idk whats even called dub today
15 years later.. still here banging this masterpiece!
Experiencing the growth of this sound in the early to mid-2000's was, looking back, absolutely incredible.
When dubstep was dark, steppy, and full of vibes
still is if you look :)
@@kqnceptdon't be ridiculous, Skrillex fucked it for the lot of us
This dropped less than 10 days after I was born, this is some of the best music on the internet and nothing can change my mind.
14 years later stills sounds like I'm in the future.
💯
I lovethat perspective.. i myself am all thinking 🤔✨ I am from the future. So I tell people that I meet in the present this in my past 😂 i thank them for all of us for staying home and no more war. Make sure we make the space ark just in case we cant make the time machines.
Works for me.
Get out the popcorn 😒
this was the fucking one. probably listened to this 1000x in high school, forming a deep love for sound culture from outside the US. these og tunes will outlast all these youngins following in their footsteps
So proud to say this was my teenhood. Now I'm 30 i still want to thank my mate, Ryan Cole for introducing me to dubstep. Only about 14 the time. Mad ting.
How can you not listen to this in 3018 💪🏽🔥💯
sounds like 90s future music, and its one of the best products of the 2000s
Still in the playlist
Man has good tastes haha
16:18 is why DMZ are the dons
Yes omg. So low-key and pro
One of the best mixes ive ever heard
Only 1 minute into it, already feeling this belongs to my personal top 10.
coming up to that 15 year mark! so many bangers from the dayyyz
Perth Australia checking in
21:12 This transition is incredible
My friend had coki on vinyl it changed my life
First dubstep mix I ever heard in 2008. Classic.
15 years ago OMG this is still amazing
That's dubstep right there man, jheeeeez
Imagine listening to this mix live in 2000 and fucking 6!!! Would have been mind blowing
This is so ahead of its time
Imagine it's 2006 being 17, just hitting a fat spliff and your mate asks if you've ever heard of dubstep...
I was 27 and REAL oxys were everywhere. This is back when Coki would respond to fans online like just some dude making music.
Timeless
This mix was everything when I was 18
now 31 and still nothing beats it
This will never get old. Myself, however.. shit
The Skream remix of Ancient Memories might be my favourite dubstep tune
Exothermic reaction was the skream track for me!! Pure Filthy Basslines👿
Night vision Skream version
I'm on a mission to bring this vibe back, time to fire up the MPC, write to a few labels and send them some weight.
can't believe it's been a full decade since this dropped already...
its so sad that people like me didnt get to experience this in its prime because of the lack of mainstream radio play, until fucking skrillex and deadmau5 came out which is a huge distance from this beautiful dub
@@Hunt4Yoshi unlucky mate I managed to see them when I was 16 at ministry, was a madness best night man
OG dubstep
I'm so glad I caught them at the Barcelona in Austin almost ten years ago already damn. Awesome times. i keep coming back to this mix frequently. classic
its impossible to get more underground than this
it is... as much as i love DMZ, clekclekboom in paris were doing the post dubstep bass music thing and added a few miles on the odometer
vibes vibes vibes all over!
This needs more views
So damn good, seeing these live soon 🔥🔥
LOS AMO TANTOOOO
Start it at 16:00 and listen. Such a low-key pro transition. No blending needed. I woulda been fucking hyped.
Bro Digital Mystikz always pops off live, these guys reload the songs so many times lol
Evergreen!

Banger 🚨
I was at a festival many years ago and never heard of these guys. We went to see some DJ and the time slots were switched I guess and digital mystikz comes on and I have no clue who it is and it isnt even the DJ I thought. These guys start throwing down wild af and people all over the crowd are blasting off smoking deems right there and Im like damn how have I not heard of whatever the band was I thought was playing. A bit later some wook asks us if we are going to see the show we thought we just saw and we were even more confused.
jus seen Mala 10 year show in California Frisco!!!!changed my life fursure
Sounds awesome...but please don't call it 'frisco'
Frisco is in Tejas homme... you mean SF. Or if you insist on being silly, 'Cisco. Francisco gets shortened to 'Cisco. Not Frisco.
Bay Area native piping in here too to remind you to NEVER call it frisco.
enorme!
Tbh this era is the best era for dub
They just don't make much music like this anymore. Still a top 10 mix of dubstep of all time. I can never not groove to it
Praise ye Jah
Man the rolldeep starter is mad! sad they put the whole crew project on hiatus.

Listened to the first 15 minutes at least once a week. I imagine this tracklkst at a festival...
2020
I was privileged enough to be one of few people who listened to dubstep before it went mainstream and cheap (thanks to Skrillex partly ). I miss those old days .....
Show this to modern kids and they will say "this isn't dubstep"
Ive moved away from this genre these days.. its become so commercial and just plain sh*t.. This stuff never gets old tho..! Original Uk Sounds!
8:30
one minute in, this music has literally NOTHING to do with the US style bro-step =)
This is proper dubstep music 🔊🔊🔊
Yes yes
That's because bro-step fucking sucks
anti war dub is still a ting tho
I hope dubstep can shake off the cringe factor of the US-style stuff, cos new music inspired by this period of the genre would only be a good thing.
can anyone tell me what 5:19 is? so sick omg
Link to the tracklist is in description 👍🏻

@@uteooob I believe that parts Skream - JME and not the first song that you mentioned.. tho I'd like to know the name of the song at 6:00 haha

Too bad all the kids are playing badly produced cheesy jump up shite now a days
tell my gf im busy
skyrilex aint fot nothing on this
Лучшее, что случалось с дабстепом
This what we think in germany dubstep is! NICER DICER!
I genuinely feel a big dose of regret and sadness for all the American kids who never knew that this was what dubstep sounded like. They thought it was Skrillex who invented the sound. Poor misinformed yankees.
While I'm an American (I resent being called a Yank being from the deep south 😂), it was this dubstep that I first listened to and that got me into the genre.(but I do like all kinds of dubstep) Brostep only blew up because this stuff (and the stuff that was sorta the bridge between) was already pretty big in the States as far as electronic music goes.
