  • This is a how to instructional video on doing a valve adjustment for a Suzuki ltz400. In this video I go over getting the bike to top dead center(TDC), checking time, checking valve clearance, installing new shims, and rechecking clearance. Always remember to follow your service manual while doing any repairs/maintenance. I did not go over torque specs refer to the service manual for the torque specs. Service manual can be found online for free. Like comment subscribe!

Need to do this soon, doesn't look too bad. Did the check on my SV1000S & seems about identical. Thanks!

This is going to apply to just about any machine, that uses a motorcycle engine, that uses a bucket and shim for the valves. Definitely the harder of the two options (shim/locknut) but definitely doable for anyone handy. Just remember to always refer to your service manual for torque specs and special instructions. Almost all service manuals can be found online for free. Thanks for watching!
