  • Brooklands is known for its incredible links to aviation, from some of the world's earliest flights to the supersonic wonder of Concorde, the site has born witness to incredible aeronautical sights and pulled in some of the best brains in the history of flight.
A particular trail blazer of aviation was Bill Manuel, who during his lifetime, designed and built some truly extraordinary gliders with most of his work taking place at Brooklands. However, one of his gliders, ""The Ladybird"" has sat unassembled and untested for decades with no one knowing if its even been flown. Until now, when aviator and lover of early planes, Julian Aubert, decides to try to restore this beautiful and scary airplane.
In this behind the scenes series, we're invited to the Brooklands museum as we follow the volunteers and staff as they mend, maintain and restore the most extraordinary historic motors and airplanes in the world. From cars, motorbikes, buses to bi-planes, all of these are all tuned up and restored using engineering expertise and knowledge that is slowly becoming non-existent.
