This series was a great intro to someone that knows nothing about recording but want to get into it...now i have a good idea on how things are done at a home recording situation, pretty darn awesome man
Amazing series. All of Kenny’s videos are always the very best. But also, are we not going to talk about how this country song was about some kid who dies and becomes a ghost playing lead guitar?
We need to be thanking you, Kenny. Thanks for all the great tips and techniques, and putting them into bite-size pieces. There’s nothing better than watching a master do his craft. So many little time-saver tips and incidentals you put in and explain. As a retired teacher I commend you and look forward to more when you get rested!
Man I’m telling you…you have a gift!!!! I enjoyed this series sooo much!!! It’s beautifuly created, the song is also very very good!!! Thanks a lot for this
Thank you so much for this series! This has got to be the best tutorial ever seen on youtube. This is like a MIT course in recording. I can't say enough great things about it. Thanks again!
I can't thank you enough for all of this. I'm going from an Akai DPS24 to software recording using Reaper and it was an entire new ballgame for me. I have learned so much! Thankyou!
Really fantastic series. Thank you for making these and being so willing to share your knowledge with us. I realise now that the majority of the issues I have with my mixes stem from my poor tracking and that I should spend more time getting it right at the beginning. Thanks again.
Excellent Tutorial!! This is a MUST WATCH for anyone who is going to PAY to be recorded or using REAPER. I wish I had known about this series a while back. But now, it's a big help going forward. THANK YOU!!
Good work Kenny I have followed all your advise. This video series was exactly what I was looking for. again thank you so much for all your hard work and your effort you are my go to man when I need something explained or to show me how its done.
Wow, what a great tutorial. I do home recording, and it seems like I could easily set up a template for my own style of songwriting that I could use over and over again. Thanks!
I liked the song, I loved the tutorial... thanks Kenny!!!! I totally forgot to try anything you taught me out and just watched the whole series, kept me pulled in and paying attention... would have loved to see the actual mix.
That's a great mix. Those drums sound really good. Wow, Kenny...this is the best series of Reaper videos I have ever seen. I've been dumping a lot of useless third party plug-ins in favor of stock plug-ins that come with it. Reaper is so awesome. I love it.
Thank you for this Kenny.,.I've made it till the end and I I've learned tons of stuffs about reaper. I am going to apply this in my future recordings using reaper.
What a GREAT tutorial you've made, Kenny! Thank you so much for your hard work. Reaper is a joy to use, especially after following your videos. I have recommended Reaper to some friends of mine after which they dumped a different DAW that cost them £££s . Please keep making these instructive videos, they are the best! Just an observation on the series though... the recording level depicted on several videos show the overplayed text as between -18db to 12bd. I know it's just a typo and that it should be -12db but maybe helpful to beginners if you could add an annotation to point this out? Just a thought. Thanks again. 👍🏼
these videos were very helpful to me and encourage to continue helping us this way; can you please advise me on the types of materials i need to make up my home studio and if possible their marks? the
Great job Kenny! When you duplicated the lead guitar track and centered the pan did you keep the original lead track on and panned left (or right, I forgot) or mute it ?
Kenny, I love the information provided in all 16 episodes of this series. However, you mentioned “riding the faders” in part 16, before rendering. Is there a video on “riding the faders”?
I noticed you used a hard limiter with the threshold set to -0.3dB on your master track, is there any reason why you did this? your levels arent high enough to be hitting that threshold so often so is it another process on the master track?
This is an excellent series Kenny. Thank you Sir for all your hard work, your tutorials are the best!!
+ for it, it is pleasure to watch even if u know it already :D
This series was a great intro to someone that knows nothing about recording but want to get into it...now i have a good idea on how things are done at a home recording situation, pretty darn awesome man

Hey Kenny need some help. How do I configure reaper to playback the 32 tracks to my SI Impact 32 channels using USB?
Do you know when Reaper 6 is coming out this year?
Nope.
So you are recording and mixing at the same time? Or just doing a few adjustments?
Mixing as I go. But this isn't a final mix.
REAPER Mania ok... sound good as possible. Try to do another video mixing this song. And using some cockos reaper plugins and stuffs
You LOCK me with 'new' Lock function, just figured it out 😉
I noticed you used a hard limiter with the threshold set to -0.3dB on your master track, is there any reason why you did this? your levels arent high enough to be hitting that threshold so often so is it another process on the master track?
I added a bunch of processing on the 2 buss to keep it louder so it was louder over my voice.
Great series. Thank you. Can you please tell us what you put on the 2 buss?
I believe it's a Stillwell "The Rocket" plugin into a ReaXComp multiband into a Stillwell Limiter.
by the way song is great too
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
1st!
