When in sequential mode. The 4runner will hold that gear and even red line. I never issues the massive 4.0l engine. I found it hard to believe the engine makes less 300 hp. I think it's more like 305 hp. I also noticed the engine is constantly being tunned based on your driving. In city, it'll hold gears a lot longer. In highway it'll shift earlier. The throttle response is also different.
