#MastersDegree #GradSchool #GradStudent
totally agree! worked after my bachelors, from that job i realized where exactly i wanted to go career wise. I sometimes find myself in the same roles as others who have masters degrees. sometimes a masters can help you get your foot in the door easier than a bachelors. but imo a masters is only really worth it if you know where you want to be and you want to move up higher in your roles. but overall i find work experience to be king these days (not to say that higher degrees arent important or valuable)
Reason I am gerring my Master:
> I know there I want to specialise in
> My Master broaderns my knowlege in the field and provides new skills which my bachelor was lacking
> It is free (I am from EU)
> Master studies acts as medium for quicker and easier networking, interships and possibility for my future career.
> Lastly but silly - I want to be a student again
Iâm gonna be completely honest I agree with some of the things that you are saying but I want to get my masters degree in business because it is a huge personal goal for me since I was a little kid and i feel like it can gain you trust with companyâs right off the bat to show that you are someone committed and hardworking enough to pursue a masters after undergraduate school.
I really liked the content because few people talk about these issues to be considered. In general, they just go with the flow
As a marketing major, I definitely needed to hear this. I believe certifications would be best for me especially because of my digital media concentration
Is there a rule that says you can't have both? I don't understand your binary thinking. Why can't you do both!! Certifications have to be maintained, otherwise, they lapse. A degree is done once and lasts for life. Also, the social capital from a master's is priceless.
And what are they going to say after you get the certifications and still donât want to hire, itâs just a game⊠certifications donât matter, I have a computer degree along with a healthcare administration degree, I can show you the rejected resumes Iâve got
I was able to get my masters because my employer was paying for it upfront. I had to do my masters classes after work. Then when I got it, I was promoted đ„°. I ended up leaving that employer to be closer to my family and I was able to find easily thanks to my masters and work experience.
I guess there's no fixed point about this. It depends on the individual
I really needed to hear this. Thank you for this video
Hi Kyyah,
I agree on what your saying about not getting a master degree that if your not sure about that career but the Army is paying for my Master's Degree in criminal justice right now and it's worth my time getting it and using both dresses next year in 2023 as an Arlington Sheriff or a criminal state investigator because those jobs train you
I have a masters in healthcare administration, itâs a complete joke. I knew what I wanted, I wanted to work in Healthcare Administration management. I canât even get in the door. Instead Iâm working to a low wage job, and none of the employers take me seriously when I send out my resume, Iâve revised it several times, Iâve even networked and asked someone in the field on LinkedIn for some help and she totally ignored me. It was my dream and thatâs all it will be. I have over 8-10 years in healthcare work experience and besides my masters I have a computer degree, sent that out years ago. The job market isnât as easy as one thinks. I have a job and Iâm miserable, absolutely hate it, and itâs so hard to get out of this. We were lied to by educators saying to get your education etc itâs awful
8-10 years of experience and yet they don't hire?
@@94D33Mnope they donât hire me, like Iâve said before the system is rigged. Iâve even networked with people on social media and friends were like email them, even tried that and the lady flat out ignored me, I didnât even ask her for a job, I just asked her for some tips. What itâs really about is many current leaders are very jealous of my skills and background with my masters degree and they are doing everything to prevent me from getting ahead. I worked at this one job years ago, everyone in my training class was getting promoted and were at a job less than a year, when I confronted management about it, they were like you have to be here for a year, when I questioned about other workers being at the place less than a year, I was dismissed. Iâm telling you something is screwy with the job market here in the USA. Iâve come to the conclusion colleges degrees donât matter unless your a doctor or a lawyer. Additionally, all those stem courses these fools talk about people taking, Iâve taken all those course like computer programming, such as python, Iâve even replaced hard drives on my own time. Iâve done the same math doctors do such as trigonometry, algebra, and business management with excel courses, Iâve also plotted items and made charts in excel for healthcare trends, these people donât care about others trying to get ahead except themselves. Iâm sick of being offered 18 an hour when my skills, experience and education all says otherwise⊠These employers donât care anymore, they will have AI (Artificial Intelligence take over by 2030) many support positions are gone, so out of a workforce of 162 million, half will be done to AI and Iâve done the research. The real problem in this country is politicians and the media lying to the public and saying oh itâs easy to get a STEM job or easy to get a healthcare job, itâs the biggest lie if Iâve ever heard of one. And I donât want a job or career where my salary is 18 an hr. I want at least 50,000 to 60,000 a year because of inflation if you canât pay it Iâm not interested. Iâm done with recruiter and hiring managers games⊠If you want talent you must pay a good salary and employers stop complaining you canât find anyone when I myself have the skills, education and experience and you overlook my resume. Why donât you people go on the news and say gee we have overlooked resumes that might be good in the workplace. Iâm done with these lies, degrees and experience donât matter Iâm living proof, the job system in this country is not fair for some people

Thanks for the video
So last year I got my Associates Degree in nursing. Next year I will be going back for my bachelors. Tbh, thereâs nothing that I want to do in my nursing career that requires me to have a masters degree but I still want to get one. Iâm doing it for the knowledge and itâs a goal of mine. I like learning and want to do as much of it as I can⊠but honestly, for career advancement, itâs not something I will need unless I choose a different route. Then in that case, Iâll already be set.
What made you go into your masterâs right after undergrad? The work you are currently doing in regulatory affairs, was it open due to your masterâs degree as you mentioned getting into RA does not require a masterâs which you have?
Man, it's been almost 2 years since I received me from college and I see almost every of my classmates in these huge universities studying their masters or about to study it. I now I want to study a masters in the mean term as a personal goal, but I think is something I'm afraid of and sincerely not sure if is what I nedd right now in this moment of my life. Thanks for the advices! Helped me get a little bit more oriented.
I agree with you, but to qualify for a CPA you need 150 credits ( depending on state). That's why a lot of accounts get a master.
I like your video, currently l planning to get my Masters degree , and l think the best thing to do first l have to masters my bachelors..
how do you get the RAC in europe?
My family is bugging me to go to graduate school and I have no idea what I want to do. So I'm going to work first. This video is beyond helpful! Thank you!
I say do what is best for you but itâs better to study at graduate school whilst your young. Your future self will thank you for just getting it out of the way I promise
I am thinking if I need the master, I am about to graduated for my bachelor and I am already doing 6 figures, but I donât know if I need for promotions
Hey! I watch all your videos and i am currently looking for an online MPH program. I have one school that i already signed up for that i can acquire my degree and a graduate certificate in a specific area in public health. My question is, I am truly interested in all areas of Public Health. I love the diversity and all the possible fields i can get into. Would i be hurting myself by taking a straight MPH and not having a "concentration" or a graduate certificate? I am mainly interested in Epidemiology and community health education, but i do not necessarily want to only work in those two aspects. Will i still be employable without a specific focus or should i pick a concentration/ certificate to have better options?
I am interested in the answer to this question, so i will comment so i get notified if she replies to you
@@kyabdul thank you for taking the time to answer. That cleared up a lot for me and I appreciate it. My only other question would be if I take a general MPH with no concentration would that make it any harder to get into a specific aspect? A lot of people told me that general MPH programs are usually for professionals with other credentials like pharmacists and doctors.
@@nataleelamberty582 interesting why didnât the school tell me that before I got my MHA degree unbelievable
I have two bachelor degrees one in human development and one in psychology. I got into a masters of public health program and heard you say you got a masters of public healthđ that was speaking to me lol would you say it s worth it since Iâm trying to go into a different field? Or should I just try to branch and get job experience in something thatâs not necessarily related to my degrees?
I have my degree in public health like your degree.. Iâve applied to government jobs, private sector jobs, they basically hire who they want, they donât consider experience or education. Iâve sat with engineers at my low paying job, now you would think gee an engineer they have all kinds of jobs in that field, nope they also work at low paying jobs. The real issue in this county is the over abundance of talent and less opportunities. The politicians and the media lie about this all the time, they pretend itâs easy to find something. Iâve done everything they told me to do, for my degree, got experience, networked, stayed positive, and still nothing. This country always talks about how China has propaganda, what do you think our political leaders are doing about jobs reports for the economy? The bottom line is our economy is doing awful and programs like social security and Medicare are going broke, the government is 32 trillion in debt, backed by high inflated securities, yet the federal reserve keeps printing money like water. The dollar to worth ratio has been going down for years. It should have stayed backed by gold
@@KJJ782So true! Completely regret getting my stupid MPH. Now Iâm in debt and jobless. Di everything âtheyâ told me to do đą
What kind of work do u do now?
Just Discovered your channel and I looove it đ i wish you good luck with your journey, i am in regulatory affairs and still struggling because I only have a significant experience in discontinuation and divestment but not submission.
Could you please recommend to us some certifications that could boost our career ? There are a lot of them but i feel that sometimes they are either very specialized or general .
Thank you so much đ
Lyna
Thank you so much for your feedback đđđ canât wait to watch these videos i am sure they will very helpful .
Hey ,am currently studying bachelor of pharmacy in South Africa and I would love to go into regulatory anywhere around Canada ..which school do you recommend where I can do my certificate in RA ?
Oooh. That was like a divine sign. I was accepted to over 9 universities and even grabbed a full scholarship. But decided to give up on it in the last minute. After this video i know for sure I made a right decision đ
Thanks a lot â€
umm....no. what, why would you reject a full scholarship masters. its only two years.
I'm pursuing master's degree because I'm jobless for one and half years. It was a mistake đą. Money and time wasted. I can't secure a decent job after graduated. Now living my life with physiological disorder affecting my life after several major mistakes I had. I'm totally in fiascođą
I don't even have a basic degree, much less a masters. Already running my own engineering business for 27 years and have no need for any sort of degree.
the captions are WAY off
Agree
I feel like trash everytime I see a job saying we need master's, bachelor's, associate etc, I have only a professional certificate in psychology, economics and business consultant, I don't even apply cause I feel shame, my morale is dragging on the floor, now you say don't do a master's, well, who can understand the world..?
I couldn't watch. Telling someone not to get a Master's when you have one is bizarre. Girl bye.
I am black. A lot of master degree holder are woman and of color ! Reason is trying to fill the wage gap!
Yup this is true!
If you're in a stem degree... get ur masters lol.... nothing wrong with working with a BS, but if you want to be taken seriously.... get it
Word
Alright, thanks for the motivation
So many opportunities with only B.S.. Masters is definitely not a must:)
Depends on the major. For example, with just a bachelor's in Psychology, there are not a lot of opportunities if you decide to work in that field. A higher degree is usually needed to have specific careers in this area.
Totally agreed. We can't even justify our BS fully then what is the point of stacking up further with an even greater load of other degrees.
@@anah433 someone with a bachelor's in psych & brain sciences- there's truly not much you can do with it unless you go higher in education.
Too late I got mine...hahaha
in?
So, in retrospect you would not get your MPH degree? Don't you think it helped you get ahead? I think students should make his/her own decisions. Motivation and skills can be demonstrated to employers in various ways - An MPH or master in regulatory is one such way. To each his own.
As someone who just recently graduated with an MPH, DONâT get an MPH. Jobs are oversaturated and very low pay. MPH programs are cash grabs. Work experience is what actually matters
U have a masters and telling people not to get âŠsmh
LolâŠ.did you watch the video? Clearly you did not. I got jaw surgery but I can still tell people interested in the surgery not to get it as a result of the risks..2 things can be right as once.
That's the case for useless degrees like literature or stuffs like that đ but how about if your in the Engineering field. Masters in engineering can make you richđ
depends
