An alternate plot cut from the 1971 version. Violets inflation was no accident. It was Wonka's Plan all along. Violet seemed to enjoy it too...until the end. Inflation scene starts at 2:38
She was screwed as soon as she asked Wonka...what kind of gum have you got here? He then knew exactly what to do with her, even wanting her to sign the contract first...because there was a danger that she might even explode! 😱
Yes He planned it from the very beginning He knew what the gum would do to her And yet he let her chew it He doesn't even seem to show any real concern as she is swelling Even when he says she could explode, he doesn't seem to mind He wanted this to happen
The editing is hysterical on the audio, 04:12 “It's the MOST AMAZING, FABULOUS, SENSATIONAL blueberry IN THE WHOLE WORLD!!!" lol he gets completely calm and ho-hum on that single word.
Brilliant edit... It shudve been like this... Using violet as an experiment almost... Swelling her bigger and bigger testing the gum... Id love to think in this version she was never let free or juiced... Constantly swelled and inflated and completely helpless.... Iam in love with this edit... I wish I was the one bein swelled I want to be a blueberry so bad 😩😩
Yes I love this The idea that he planned to use violet to test the gum and that she was never let go from the factory And the way he says "it always goes wrong when it comes to the dessert." and "it happens everytime, they all become blueberries... oh well I'll get it right in the end." He was absolutely looking for a new test subject for the gum to save his staff. And the way he describes what could happen to her "she has to be squeezed immediately before she explodes" He has seen this happen to his staff so many times before he's just become so numb to the risk
This is my favorite edit, I wish it was like this too. I wish she would've kept blowing up while Mr Wonka and Sam keep talking about her inflating. That would've been amazing.
@Harvey Kristoff S. Magtoto We'd have a cranberry alongside a blueberry. Veruca got off too easily in the story; so yes. Besides, Veruca wants everything; including defective chewing gum.
The contract was so they couldn’t sue wonka for shrinking a child turning a child into a blueberry a child being stuck in a pipe and putting a child threw a garbage shoot
If one of the courses involved beans: Wonka: She has to be squeezed immediately before she... Violet: *rips a big one, causing her to go back to her normal size, and leaves a giant blue cloud* Wonka: Never mind.
I think you just solved the blueberry problem, if beans were included it would have counteracted the blueberry problem, your a genius, gas worked with the fizzy lifting drinks so the gas works with each candy
What has bothered me about the movies is why punish the kids, it's the adults that allowed the kids to be such brats. Shouldn't the parents take the punishment?
In all three versions, the book, 1971 and the 2005 version, Wonka mentions that he tested the gum on the Oompa Loompas. He should've rolled out one of the Oompa Loompas that got inflated. The film makers probably regret not making the actual blueberry costume big enough. She's more slender than she is wider for a real blueberry. That, and she's supposed to be still expanding as they roll her out the door, according to the book.
Though it is probably implied, in this one, no he does not. He just says it happens all the time, they all become blueberries. For all we know, he might be talking about previous kids. I doubt it, but could be, why not. Imagine if previous kids went through that experience at his factory, if their fates would have played out differently.
Alternate ending: Violet: Desert? Here it comes! Date bars! *an Oompa Loompa shows up and starts flirting with her* Violet's dad: What's he doing? Wonka: He likes Violet, and wants to go on a "date".
I love both versions, but I much prefer the remake. For me, Johnny Depp is and always will be the best Willy Wonka. The remake is much more realistic and closer to the book. The original Oompa Loompa songs are bland. Pure imagination is good tho.
I'd disagree buddy, I tend to be more of the 1971 version of the film, but that's just me. Also the inventing room in the 2005 film is hard to see and doesn't look as factory appealing as the 1971 film...Just saying.

Correct me if I'm wrong but, in the book, don't the oompa loompas mention how Violet eats someone's underwear?
