Someone needs to inform Makar that he's actually a defenseman because dude scores better than most forwards lmao
put it in off his head. how embarrassing
Makar might be the 21st Century of Bobby Orr if any even cares to remember who he is. Actually, he might be even be a lot better and probably more than some legends like a Paul Coffey too.
@@canicetang8837 if no one cares to remember who he is I will gladly be a martyr as a 28 going on 29 year old hawks fan. The flying goal is legendary. Man literally redefined offensive defenseman.
@@MrBiteme39 One of the best playoff goals ever. That includes the Lemieux splitting the defense and scored against the North Stars in the early 1990s.
However, Bobby Orr's Stanley Cup winning goal in 1970 Stanley Cup against the Blues came to mind as a legendary goal.
This one last night was so much better in many ways.
@@canicetang8837 He absolutely is. He is just barely short of 3rd ALL TIME in playoff PPG for defensemen
Mackinnon was born for the playoffs. Insane PPG.
Playoff Mackinnon is another level
Playoff mackinnon hasn’t won anything
@@neonblack4486 team game. Top 5 all time in playoffs PPG. Definitely isn’t his fault.
@@neonblack4486 Dude is still something like 1.4 PPG in the playoffs, one guy isn't gonna win anything for any team. If you had the chance to have him on your team in the playoffs, would you say no?
He still wack
This is what a healthy Avs lineup can do! Hopefully they can keep dodging all the Nashville hits and make it to round two intact.
This is also what happens to Preds without Saros

RIP to the Nashville Predators, this Avs team is just built different in the playoffs.
Seeing how the teams are playing in the first round so far, I feel like we are all in for a heck of a ride. There is such an insane amount of offensive talent this year.
We were most definitely in for a wild ride... awesome run with a lot of complaining from every team...lol
It is just that the Avs are probably the most talented group in the NHL. And when they are on the can blow anyone out of the building. Scary.
Big statement tonight, but a long way to go, let’s do it again Thursday night!
Yup! Only 1 game, but they're focused and hungry!
Game Three. It's always the club that takes the third one.
Makars break out pass to start the play at 1:20 is sick. The Norris is absolutely his this year come on
I know they have already cast votes for the Norris, but damn imagine being a writer and you voted for Josi and then you watched this game. Big Oof
this was a statement game, the avalanche WANT THE CUP!!!!!!!!!!!
jeez the only players that could score were current and former avalanche players
You're right! Still glad we got rid of Matt Duchene tho.
Duchene still looking for that playoff team.
Is it too late to go back to Colorado lol
@@karltanner3953 we don't want him back
@@karltanner3953 the last thing the avs need is negative nancy duchene back
At least he makes the playoffs now, he didn't before
Easy to hate on duchene but the dudes been a baller this year and scored 3 goals in the last two games against the avs
This is where it all started.
That Calgary Kid is amazing ..
Surpised duchene didn't celebrate his goals while losing
"It's a 6-0 goal..... Big cheer? You kidding me? What is that?"
hahahahahaha
So Technically every Colorado (past, future, and present) player scored today?
He wouldn’t dare Patrick Roy is always watching
Avs have scored more playoff touchdowns then the broncos have in recent years…

That shorty is a Dang-It!
Starting to think that Makar is actually underrated.. Could argue that he's the best player in the league.
Im sorry but both of those statements are incorrect
One game at a time.
Go Avs Go!!!
WOO WOO!!!
Steve can do full DangIt episode from this one Predators game :)
Nashville came to hit, Colorado came to score, and I think Colorados dominance led them to be the more physical team
Nashville had 59 hits, Colorado had 50. Both teams came to hit. Colorado didn't have as much time to hit when they are shooting the puck so much.
The team with less puck possession almost always has more hits, the fact that colorado had 50 hits and the puck most of the time showed they can be physical too
Brutal Predators' defense. What on earth were they doing keeping 'Big Save Dave' hung out to dry for 5 goals that were not his fault at all. If this is the way Nashville is playing, then even if Saros is coming back in Game 3 at the earliest. It will be the fastest sweep ever in a series in the NHL.
In short, Nashville better wake the hell up being this would be the biggest hockey playoff mismatch for quite a while.
For Rittich it was very bad night, his defense were tragic and its hard to catch something
@@jadli7292 The second goal he might have on the short side. But the Avs forwards were burning the Preds defense like they are pylons. Seriously, he was by far the best player in that awful first period. It should be 10-0 already.
Come on, they allowed Colorado first ten bell chances on net only 18 seconds in? You know that Nashville was in huge trouble right off the start.
That Makar goal was impressive.
The Avs are crazy. As a Wild fan I enjoy watching the Avs. Beat down tonight . Cale is a beast
Nashville’s season ended when they blew a 4-0 lead to Arizona. It’s a shame I actually think they could have beaten Calgary. Expect this kind of result in all 4 games.
Shut up nerd
Beat Calgary? Are you high? Their season ended when Saros got hurt. Colorado, Calgary whoever.
@@markiv2942 Saros isn't even the issue. Preds would put up a better fight against Calgary, but they have zero answer on defense other than trying to injure people.
Hope so.
@@markiv2942 I think he just meant. They would have better chance to make to second round against Calgary rather than Avs. Which I'm glad it happened. Since Avs always struggle against stars. Just one of the team we have tougher time. So happy we facing Nashville first round rather than stars. I think Nashville rather faced Calgary.
I'm just looking for everyone who complained about Bednar resting players and saying we are coasting. Clearly the Avs knew they were ready. Captains back. They are dialed in. No letting of gas take it all
Yeah, the Avs had nothing to play for except home ice against the Florida Panthers if both teams meet in the finals. Resting top guys way more important
@@Mansini77 yup I'm tired of couch coaches thinking they know whats best for a team
Yep, it is useless to think about home court advantage if you are not in the final yet.

Playoff Mackinnon is the Best Player In The World idc what anyone says
My boy Lekhy got a goal. I still miss him lol, treat him well Colorado, he’s one hell of a player.
We love him, and he fits so well on this team.
He's been a great addition. Fits well with the speed that the Avs already have and dude can score.

I’m so glad CZcams can translate comments, I love this little interaction
Cogliano has been a huge depth boost to the Avs. Looking good in game 1.
Holy Makar that was epic!!!
2:48 Holy S****t! 🧐🤯
With Landy back the Avs made a statement!
so many dang-it's in one highlight reel!
do you know good site where i can find full games?
Watching this 5 months later. I forgot the preds scored this game lol
I love the avalanche this year, they have a good team 👏
As much as I doubt it, it would be really nice to see a Colorado vs Calgary conference final. One of the best scoring teams against one of the best defenses in the league. Both have dominant first lines, especially Calgary, but Colorado has Cale Makar back there who is a major threat.
Rittich with some weak goals against and a defense that left him out to dry is a recipe for disaster. Without a workhorse in Saros, our Preds are FKD. The past few weeks has revealed some huge issues with this young team to be sure, and it will likely have an effect on Filip Forsberg's decision this off-season. None of us necessarily expected to advance...they already exceeded expectations, but at least show up with a little heart like old, outmatched Preds teams of the past. Guess we have to suck for a handful of years to get the high picks we've never had for the Landeskogs and MacKinnons of the game. All I can hope for is to not be swept for the first time in franchise history. I don't think I've seen them that outclassed in the postseason since the 2011 series vs VAN.
“I think we learned from last year’s playoffs to not take our foot off of the gas”
That was the post- game comment made by Mackinnon after the Avs destroyed the Predators. It does not surprise me that he made this statement. This game brought flashbacks to 2021 playoffs Round 2 GM1 when the Avs destroyed the Golden Knights 7-1. After that victory, the Colorado Avalanche were never the same.
That is why the Avs must take advantage of Saros’ absence. They cannot let this opportunity slip and they know it. When the final horn sounded to end the game, the Avs were not celebrating. On the Altitude feed, the camera zoomed in on Mackinnon. He didn’t even crack a smile. He was still stoic and focused. The rest of the team quickly gave Kuemper head butts, raised their sticks to acknowledge the crowd, and went back to the dressing room immediately. There was no excessive celebration. They know that this is just the beginning.
As a team, it was a great game. Individually, some had it pretty rough. The one that stood out the most was Toews. He was responsible for letting Duchene get a pair of goals. It was a rough night for him. All we can hope is that he can learn from it and bounce back.
The Predators let in 11 straight goals, including the season finale against the Coyotes, before Duchene scored on the PP in the 2nd period. As an Avs fan, I am just glad we are facing them instead of the Stars. Look at the Flames tonight. They barely beat the Stars with a 1-0 victory. That’s the scenario I fear if Colorado were to face Dallas in the first round. A tight close game with very little room for error. As of now, Nashville did the Avs a favor by blowing that finale.
How's that first round exit that you predicted lookin? Granted, it's one game. But it's definitely a statement game!
@@soadfan1016 I never said first round exit, clown. Stop twisting words. Then again, that is something you do best since you can't keep your own promise. Did you even see the Flames game? They barely squeaked a win. So my thoughts on the Stars vs Avs still stand.
Bro wrote an essay lmao
The PP goal was a broken play where the puck squirts through, Sturm was trying to recover his stick and Grandlund was right there as well so tough ask for Toews to make a decision in that spot. Sure the break away was on him but I'd argue one mistake doesn't amount to a "rough night". I personally don't see any really obvious poor performances from anyone out there on the Avs, even our boy Girard you don't care for had a solid game. Definitely a long way to go but you couldn't have asked for anything more than for the Avs to come out and have this kind of game. More than anything, I take away the fact that the Avs pretty much matched the physical game the Preds were touted for having while still dominating the game they play.
@@alexschroeder8802 i'm not your bro, zoomer. If you think this is an essay, I can already tell that you're an uneducated scrub
This is how I wanna see Kuemper for the rest of the playoffs. The one was a nice play, the second one was a nice pass and Toews was out of position, that's a little more on him than Kuemper. Solid showing let's keep rolling AVS!!!
MacKinnon scored the 1st and last goal of this Cup winning... priceless
Is there a highlight channel that includes a lot of the scrums and more physical stuff? That's a huge part of playoff hockey is that extra emotional element that these just don't capture. Just makes it seem so sterile without it.
Timestamp 2.0 and nhl rejects
@@kingoftrolls19 Was hoping for more of an all in one highlight package deal for each game, goals, fights, hits, scrums included but nhl rejects is pretty goof. Just gave to watch em all individually.
@@bobtwo3948 naw I feel you and I agree but those are the only two that I know of.
Preds are really suffering without Saros it seems. Also great game from Avs
Love the avalanche
Такое ощущение, что в первом периоде Хищники забыли выйти на матч
The Nashville goalkeeper played like Neuer at one point
Reminds me of game 1 against Vegas last year
Претенденты на кубок🔥🤴👍
Ожидаемая победа Лавин, правда, не думал, что такой "вынос тела" будет. Ждем продолжения.
When asked about the chippy end of the game, MacKinnon simply said 'I don't care, we are just here to play hockey and what happens, happens'.
MacKinnon was laser focused even in that interview. He's come to win this year.
And the Avalanche deliver the Death-Blow.....
Matt Duchene with the Chris Paul Special…”scores a huge goal to cut the deficit to 5”.
The "Can't Make A Save Dave Game" I'm coining it now
I just bet Nashville are thinking about that game they choked 4-0 to the yots end of reg season right about now...
Absolute beat down...
3:31 IF YOU'RE A GOALTENDER... no, wait! he's good
At least Duchene is playing playoff hockey
Go Avs Go!!!
Anybody that thinks Josi is better than Makar - just watch these highlights. Makar is insane. Avs all the way babyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!
Ironically, Makar is born and raise in Calgary. We all knew his prowess in minor hockey. Joe Sakic was a genius taking him as the 4th pick.
2:05: Preds were letting the Xanax kick in or something. That’s inexcusable to get robbed like that when you’re on the power play.
Go Av’s.
THERE WE ARE! there we are, boys…
That third goal... ouch lol
Let’s go avalanche
I knew this was gonna happen!
No chance for preds without Saros

Huge win Avs 🐭🐹🐸
This teams a buzz saw, hope they do this in front of Nashvilles fans too
Nashville looks like they know this is pointless without Saros. He props them up, and this team looked beaten from the puck drop.

I can’t see anybody beating the Avs in the West lmao.
Calgary or the wild could
@@luketriple9370 Calgary maybe, definitely not the Wild. Wild dont have the depth to stop the Avs firepower.
**the Flames have entered the chat**
@@karlmanchur9906 We will gladly destroy the Flames in the playoffs again. It's more the second round we're a little worried about
Can't take anyone lightly. I can see us losing to all western teams except LA. Nothing is guaranteed, however, they're looking amazing after game 1. They need to be consistent, that's the key
Nashville still looked better than the Wild.
Rittich should have leveled MacKinnon with a big crushing bodycheck at 3:30
16 Win"s to go
15*
yep,,,, just 15 to go ,,,
Big Save Dave is continuing to prove why he has the most misleading nickname in hockey. Not that the Predator's lack of defense wasn't a major factor as well. Might as well role the dice and start Ingram next game cause he looked pretty decent in relief
Rittich had the fight but pretty much a jackal and hyde goalie. When he proved himself in Calgary, we all thought he would be the next Kipprusoff. However, after that All-Star season, he faltered and we had to get a goalie called Cam Talbot on a rebound from the Oilers. He delivered in the first pandemic '19 - '20 season by a strong playoff performance, while 'Big Save Dave' faltered and claimed by the Leafs as the third goalie at the trade deadline the following season.
This might be his last chance. He is a great goalie but needed to keep his confidence. Sadly, sometimes he is his worst enemy because he is extremely critical on himself, rather than blaming his leaky team last night who hung him out to dry.
Then again, relying on Saros playing the entire season and not expecting overuse him finally caught up with that injury because they failed to clinch the playoff spot early.
Let’s go Avs
4:52 and that's a dang it...
Hey duchene how's that more playoff games going....LMFAO... hahaha
People really saying the kings are the weakest team in the playoffs. But nah Nashville without Saros is. This is the only series I expect a sweep
Especially with John Hynes as the coach… yikes.
01:55 BOOM!
Woohooo Colorado won the whole entire game. Woohoho
So all the goals scored came from The Avalanche and a former Avalanche.
If you don't have a handle on penalties, and then you do it against Colorado, well.... Then there are individual mistakes, too. I don't blame Rittich for the five goals. Colorado is just strong this season. I can't understand the negative comments about Kuemper, every goalie has a few bad decisions. Do you think he will stay in Colorado next season?
Колорадо мощно сыграл
