They're fans of BSB and the pioneers of kpop studied how european pop and american pop became popular all over the world and adopted that to their own and improved it. No one is copying who, cause pop music is just there people just tend to discover it late. The City pop of Japan was already a popular way back in the 80's. Currently the most popular were kpop songs.. But from the 90's to early 00s American pop was a world wide phenomenon and after a decade it had shifted to Asia and that's the rise of kpop. Then new things will be on trend too in the future it's just a cycle.

What i think is that the moment they heard Ken and referred to Stray Kids having a low voice. Everything else was all assumptions and bias. Heck! having someone with a low voice had been a thing for a singing group, eversince. It's as normal as a choir having someone to sing as Bass. And just because of Straykids having someone with a low voice is special? as if they own it. That's dumb! In the Philippines all singing group had that kind of composition. In PH is normal and in Korea it's special? But why would we listen to a group here who all use autotune and haven't proven anything in the music industry like SB19 did.

11:40 What really ticked me off at this part (push aside the technicalities, and how people lip-sync in music videos) was how the blonde guy basically just said their pronunciations were "off" or "inauthentic" WITHOUT knowing the different types of Filipino accents. First of all, I myself TALK like that. I make sure most of the words that come out of my mouth are properly enunciated. Pablo also has this kind of accent, and also Josh. I know both or either of them worked at a call center before and I've also been in that industry. Most of Filipinos who live in the Southern part of the Philippines, especially in Manila talk like that. Not all Filipinos have your typical Filipino accent where they pronounce "f" as a hard "p", and we also definitely do not have an American accent like they do. So, it was really unfair to me how they took SB19's way of pronouncing or enunciating words, dissected it, and made it seem like it was a bad thing. To me, it is already a part of our culture and just pointing at people and telling them how they should and should not enunciate words just gives me the ick.
I made a comment in CasualChuck's video regarding Ken's deep voice and way of singing/rapping in his part. If you look at Filipino artists like Al James, you'll see that it's almost the same as Ken's flow or what Ken wanted to achieve on his part of the song. Whenever I hear Ken, his way of slow rapping and singing checks all the mark I see from LOCAL artists, and that in itself makes him the opposite of INAUTHENTIC. You can even find other artists outside S.Korea, outside of USA and outside of the Philippines who uses this style. Why? because Music is simply inspired. I could say the same thing to their music, which also sounds like any modern American pop.
I wouldn't have this much of an issue with them if they could have just said SB19's songs are just not doing it. They should have just been honest. Their further explanation, adding in the way of pronouncing, the same vibes, etc., just made them seem worse in my eyes. I can respect if you don't like their music at all, but please do not further embarrass yourselves by adding unnecessary reasons why you don't like a certain thing. They as artists should know the lip syncs that go into music videos, the technicalities, how music is inspired, and they as decent people, should know how languages and accents differ. All the points they argued already have their own answers. It was as if they were giving excuses to why they don't like SB19 when it could just be as simple as not digging their music. That's what it seemed like they were doing. No hate to them, as Chuck said, just giving my opinion to their opinion.
Very well said, I honestly share the same sentiments....like they could just been blunt in saying that it's not their type of music or they simply don't like it. But to go further and almost making a mockery of our boys is not nice at all, especially when the blonde chick tries to go gasping for breath on reference to Ken on the MV of Go Up....as if she wouldn't if she had been dancing as f..K.!anyways as SB19 would say always choose to be kind....so end of rant.Peace❤️

I only new SB19 because of sister recommended it to me saying "you have to watched this group they looked promising and talented and you'll liked them." and she mentioned it a couple more times before I started watching them. Because I was so hesitant cause Filipinos love kpop, alot of people imitate it and then plus most of the pop song that was created before SB19 are not that really good and singers here mostly sang ballads and ppop before is mostly cringe so I didn't believed her at first, when the time of pandemic I was convinced by her to watched them, and I regreted I didn't do it the first time she told me😂😂 I watched their go up video and was amaze how syncronized they move, they're great dancers that's what hooked me to them. So I started to looked for their other songs to see if they can really sing so my sister recommended tila luha and hanggang sa huli and I was already sold. They're good dancers, good voices and they can sing and I knew they had potential and just need to keep improving more and push their limits. When they released "What" I was already amazed and happy that they can produced that kind of song and mv that never seen in Ph music scene. Plus I saw Justin is also a creative director of their MV it's really amazing and it made me expect from them more. From then I knew that if they're just given a chance more sponsor and more fan support they could soar high... they're so talented and every song of them has different vibes. It's rare to have a group that can do everything independently, in a world where autotune is normal, SB19 is a breath of fresh air. Their songs were alive, you can relate to it that's what sets them apart from kpop.

That’s why I don’t support Kpop that much anymore..I only Stan one or two that’s about it..I been a kpop fans since big and era,wonder girls over 10 years now..when I tell you some of these kpop fan bases are close minded..like I said I been kpop fans for a long time now.. When I first discover SB19 I didn’t compare them with anyone else. I listened to their songs and learned more about them. It happened for me to like them more than kpop musics..We understand some people don’t like a certain type of musics,but when you give constructive criticism try to not compare them with your favorite artist..cause that’s just wrong..For example: if someone want me to listen to Adele for the first time and I’m a Metallica fan..I wouldn’t compare them because it’s a totally different genre or style..I would listened more to Adele to understand what her musics all about than comparing them…Great reaction as always

What makes me "CRINGE" is an immensely successful group who sold many records being judged by a group who doesn't even have a title to their name. But you know what they say, you can't please everybody. So if that is their opinion, respect that. If you're still mad, double check if you are subscribed to their channel and just unsubscribe. My question is, should pop be different in every country? What I thought is when you say pop music, there's always similarities regardless of the nationality of the singers. SB19 writes and composes their songs base on their stories, experiences, journey that is also relatable to people. They don't create music by copying Kpop or Jpop.
in my opinion those who have composed or written music were just inspired by music they grew up with. Music is universal and things might be kind of similar or give a nostalgia vibes.

CasualChuck is one of the best reactors that ever catered for SB19. His videos are informative. But as I mentioned before especially the fans on the comment that don’t understand American/Canadian English shouldn’t comment. Sometimes we speak playfully but they would assume it was an offensive comment. Everyone use “cute” all the time and that’s no way an insult. But fans stop attacking Chuck for his opinion and all the die hard fans need to stop attacking those who dislike certain things about SB19. You guys don’t own them. Just because someone makes a bad comment or constructive criticism doesn’t mean they’re not a fan. Mga ignorante kasi Minsan mga tao. A lot of people were offended about their statement specially the fans bcs we saw and we know their struggles to reach where they are now, their gifts and skills, and I think she was pertaining to Ken's part when she said inauthentic based on the video where they compared it to straykids, and I was kinda hurt for SB19 and for Ken because he mentioned it before in one of their videos that he actually hated his deep voice,and Pablo helped him, motivated and assured him that he's good, his voice is amazing and that he has his own style, everyone of them does that's why Pablo said that in writing their songs, he also have to take into account each their styles and skills to show their absolute best. Ken is now embracing what he has so saying that it was inauthentic and that they have to be themselves or be who they really are was kinda off and somewhat stupid imo. I mean, this is them. The real SB19 and they're not just writing and making songs for the sake of trends or smthng, all of their videos were so deep if you dig or dive into what each the lines or lyrics meant. I most especially love their lyricism, it's just on a whole different level. Not everyone can like SB19 and that's understanble but ppl should also really mind the words they'll use or atleast give more context to properly explain their point.

These four people reacting to the video are what I would refer to as “group thinkers” led by the first person who made the initial comment of “not authentic” . The way she used authentic was based out of context without any antecedent knowledge of what they are talking about i.e. SB19. It is obvious that her version of authenticity is so limited if you will.
