Hi, I've had Camaros/2nd gen Zees and I know what those tabs are for on the window trim.
When at highway, or higher, speeds the size of the windows causes them to pull out from the car which is a huge distraction and LOTS of wind noise. I found this out when one of my Camaros had rusty tabs and I removed them, BIG mistake! About 90+ the glass was completely up and pulled out about 2 inches, I then fabbed 2 new tabs and never had this problem again.
When the glass is 1/4" down the tabs still work and keep the glass in place, the adjustment I used when I worked at a Chevy Dealership was to get the door close to closing with the glass up and bend the tab so it doesn't interfere when the door closes.
As for those "wonky" tabs, without them when you wash your car you may get water in, you can always use 3M stripcaulk to fill gaps.

Oh m g. The amount of crap that was messed up with my build. 81 Z28.
Installing both of the side windows ; 3 of brand new white nylon rollers, wouldn't even go into the original gm tracks!
The new window roll down handles, wouldn't even slide onto the brand new window regulator shafts!
The brand new drivers side outer door handle, and the new link rod, going to the new door latch, the rod was 1/4" to short! Passenger side was a touch long, but easy to bend.
Good thing I'm able to just massage these parts to work, instead of just returning.... Qc just ain't what it used to be.

Was there no sealant applied to the back side of the roof rail stainless before you attached it to the body? Seems like you'd have a huge leak without the sealant.

Can Carbon Fiber be polished? The resin coat certainly can, but note it isn’t always as uniform and as thick as clear coat. I always suggest a light polish and have an auto body shop clear the parts.
