At 5:28, right as you finish saying “he plasters on a smile, and under his breath, he says…” I got hit with an ad for hot sauce. I have to say that for a second I thought this campaign was taking a very weird and unexpected turn
Same thing happened to me! Except it was an ad for a video game!
😂 tbh I’m going to turn mid roll ads off. I use YT premium so have no ads but caught a bit of this at a friends with ads and it was nearly unwatchable.

I was so hoping you'd involve Lorenzo at the end. Gideon seems like the kind of walking disaster who would throw a screaming monkey at a dangerous woman he is (very unadvisedly) attracted to.

But holy hell what an ending! I can't wait for the next episode, I love Gideon and Felicity is such an interesting villain (or is she?)

Great to have a new series and characters. The music and sea shanty preludes are all superb. The meeting at the manor sounded a lot like a recent games convention you attended recently.
That means a lot! I was very anxious about this not living up to expectations, so I’m glad people are enjoying it
@@thebadspoton the contrary I noticed a definite improvement in the graphics too. You marked progress too but you probably missed one or two as you got towards the end of the episode.
@shaneintheuk2026 Yeah I actually filmed more of this but cut for time, so there’s progress that gets marked I’ll re-shoot at the start of next episode.
Great opener! One quick comment. There was an ear piercing moment in the audio when the monkey "spoke" and I wasn't even wearing headphones
Thank you! I did double check the monkey sounds because I have deafened people before with griff’s beeps but it’s totally fine on my speakers and my TV too. I’ll keep an eye on it though!

Matt, I love your storytelling and am a fan of the show, and the "but" that's coming is the gentlest one possible: sometimes your sound effects are louder than your voice, either blasting my ears if I'd put the volume up to hear you, or startling me if I'd had the good fortune to fall asleep. It was particularly egregious in S1 Starforged with the little robot chirps and I think it's got better since (I haven't listened to S2 yet) but it happened again here with the music at 24:40 and later with the monkey. If you could watch out from it moving on, I'd be sooo obliged 🙏
Hello there! Thanks for the feedback, I had this same note from another user and I will say what I said to them: I double checked the levels and they were absolutely fine on my end both through speakers and headphones. The other user reported it was not an issue on a different device, so I am not sure what is going on here! I am definitely aware of sound effect mixing levels because I know I have startled people with Griff's robotic beeps in the past, so I am always conscious of it. I shall remain vigilant, thanks for watching!
@@thebadspot Thanks for looking into it. Yeah it definitely could be an issue of users having different equalizer settings and response curves. I did my first listen through my phone's speaker but tried now on bass-heavy headphones and the music was still a bit louder than your voice, though not by much. Maybe the amplitude charts in your mixing software could reveal something? With Lorenzo, it could be that higher pitched sounds are perceived as louder, so it's a big contrast to your voice.
@Dithrandir yeah possibly! I’m not that great technically, but I’ll try and tinker with it so people don’t have their ears destroyed by a monkey
