Forbidden West is absolutely gorgeous, but it’s shocking how well Zero Dawn holds up after 7 years. It makes the upcoming remake even more baffling. Especially since we’ve lost Lance Reddick as well.
Yes while playing zero dawn recently i realised how beautiful the game looks for its time.
That's the advantage of exclusive games like this. Pretty much every Sony exclusive holds up well years after release thanks to the budget, time, and passion that goes into making them. Uncharted 4 still looks dope as well, especially the facial animations in cutscenes.
@@RicochetForce God of War as well, even if it came out after Horizon and Uncharted 4. Pretty insane that these are all PS4 games too, wondering what Sony will be able to achieve with exclusives that only target the PS5 instead of being backward compatible with the PS4, though I guess the recent layoffs and game cancellations mean we might be waiting a long time for something seriously awesome.

Zero Dawn was jaw dropping and is still impressive even today. Forbidden west is on another level though
Na, Forbidden West is a minor upgrade, and looks the same, for the moist part. Except water quality. Sound quality is also much, much better in Forbidden West in this video comparison.
Rain is very different from each other. One is a very light rain while the other seems to be a heavy downpour. During a heavy downpour water wouldn't have the little puddle effects due to the intensity and volume of how much rain is constantly hitting the water. So Both are very accurate respectively.

On a monitor screen, the major difference in my opinion comes mostly in cutscenes. When you're playing it, Horizon Dawn still holds up incredibly well. The differences are more noticeable on a big TV screen.

The snow in Forbidden West- I can almost touch it (and shiver from the cold touch)!! If you've never experienced snow, this is the closest visual experience possible (besides videos of actual snow, of course)
CZcams can't even process the foliage in Zero Dawn, much less in Forbidden West

@@MaDDeX93 No I haven't, but it isn't THAT old either. RDR2 was released at the same time as God of War 4, so it'd be more accurate to compare it to God of War 4
You could also compare between how realistically machines react to attacks and their parts being detached and also environmental destruction.

There's a few things that are a clear improvement, but I never notice them when playing. Like those foliage physics for example. And especially the enemy combat animations, they look so insanely fluid and good in videos, but when playing yourself you don't really notice them. May also affect things that I play on very hard, not much time to admire the visuals in the middle of a fight haha.

HFW is the best looking game on PS5 and most likely PC, it is siiiick the amount of high quality assets this game has in an open world game and with no Ray tracing but pre calculated lightning.🎉
I liked this video comparitions between the two titles. I plaied zero down and forbidden world now with rtx3060ti intel 7. The result is very good in every cases. However with more powerful graphic card the woulb be greatest but i am very satisfied rtx3060ti

Yes, Forbidden West looks better, but I just replayed Zero dawn a couple of weeks before Forbidden West came out on PC and it really does hold its own and is very comparible with the 2nd one and even better than a lot of newer PC titles that have come out in the last year.
Played HZD on PS4 and HFW on PS5. On FW I didn't liked the "glow" around Aloy and the cutscenes looked like the characters were rendered in different instances than the background. Lighting didn't matched many times and it was something that threw me out of the context of the story every time.
One thing for sure is Guerilla's emphasis on aesthetics. HZD is still a beautiful game and very few games have achieve that level of detail, specially considering the constraints of a console compared to a pc.

One thing to note is how a lot of animations in regular dialogues look ten times better. It's still vastly inequal and sometimes, even between aloy and who answers so it's still jarring and quite an annoiying part of the game; But still it received a huge improvement.

Try disabling depth of field in graphics settings. Hope that helps.

The most notable difference is the movement of her hair... It's a lot more realistic and looks more natural on Forbidden West.
When I first played hfw on my ps5 I spent like 15 minutes in the starting area aiming at the textures I couldn't believe my eyes

However Zero dawn runs at almost double the framerate of Forbidden with the same hardware while using only half the video memory and only looking a little worse.
True.. I sometimes wonder why, there are so many newer titles with bad graphics yet way worse performance than older titles, it's honestly upsetting how optimization standard got so low that people be saying this game is well optimized (it is when you compare it to other games ig). Keep on mind that this game is released in 2022 and yet 2022's most powerful gpu 3090 ti struggles to keep a constant 4K60 at the highest settings while an RX 6700 equalivent PS5 can run in nicely at 4K30. I believe this game can be optimized far better than the current already decent optimization.
It's answered in the video though, whilst there are some cutbacks like the weaker fire quality, there are other major advances like texture quality and SSR resolution, look at the water alone, reflections and water physics with caustics are orders of magnitude ahead of Zero Dawn. Then throw in a heavier particle effects system and you can see why FW runs slower than ZD on the same hardware.

Im only glad they made face animations better for the sequel. Zero Dawn is still an enjoyable game except that issue.

I htink Forbidden West is slightly better graphics wise having played i tthe las tfwe days. I htin kStory and gameplay wise fo rme Zero Dawn feels better. There's not much betwen th e2 though as both games are beautiful to look at and fun to play.

well, horizone 2 is a ps4 game in its base so no big advance...will be amazing to what they will do on 3 on ps6.

Forbidden west needs a very strong hardware to run. I have 16gb ram, 4 gb vram and it runs like garbage even on the lowest settings with lowest resolution. It stutters a lot after few minutes.

8GB is actually THE minimum amount of ram for the gpus these days if you want to play such kind of games!
FFS I have 8 years old GPU and the game runs decently enough on it on custom/medium settings on 1440p without any up-scaling technique! I have GTX 1070!
FPS is around 40fps and more than playable. I do have Ryzen 9 5900x though

Other than graphics, does forbidden west add anything to the game. I bought zero dawn a long time ago. And at that time there was forbidden west, but only for console. All I'm seeing from videos is about graphics. So hoping someone will let me know. Thanks
Forbidden West is one of the best games released this year for PC. It features a very immersive open world and gameplay, so I would recommend trying it out if you loved Zero Dawn. And thanks for watching the video.

Разница в качестве детализации в том, что спустя 5 лет у разработчиков появилась пс5 позволяющая использовать большую мощь железа.
Выйдет PS6 и сделают третью часть игры ещё красивее и детализированнее.

Horizon Zero Dawn is beautiful, and the difference between it and Forbidden West isn't significant. I don't understand why Forbidden West is so demanding; it shouldn't be.
The problem is game optimization. Due to features like DLSS, FSR, and XESS, devs launch the game early and optimize the game little by little over time.😢

@@RicochetForce Horizon Forbidden West was released in 2022 and was launched for the PS4, meaning there's a 5-year gap from Zero Dawn. The video speaks for itself; I bet if I showed you random screenshots from both games, you'd have a hard time guessing which game is which.
Other than the fps bug, forbidden west is running spectacularly, you must have a pretty shitty PC
HFW textures are worse on PC than they are on PS5
They look the same, more or less. Some differences, like water quality. But otherwise, they're not much different.

Finally… one cost 475€ and the other one 1500€ finally… no clear enhancement. That’s just details. Normal. The engine has not been really developed for pc and not really enhanced as well.
Zero down was better in every way plus the snow is more better and with better sound in zero down forbidden west have the same grassy sound even on snow..
