Yes it was, the only time it was not bad was when all of the stuff of Cool Cat finding the gun. That was shot in February. I remember seeing snow on the way to the shoot.
Jason Johnson Yikes... sorry man. For what it's worth you may just be the only dude who could seem fun in those conditions. I hope you got payed well for that role.
After seeing the interview with you, I was incredibly nervous that you wouldn’t be able to get work despite coming of as being a really cool guy, but I’m glad to see that you’re also really talented. Keep doing what you do!
Whenever I'm feeling upset, I put on yms review or ihe review on this movie lol. Thank you for helping me make me laugh (I like the movie ironically, Daddy Derek can't direct or write good lol).
Dear Jason, Will you be featuring in the upcoming Cool Cat short film: "Cool Cat Stops a School Shooting"? I simply cannot imagine Cool Cat being played by any actor other than yourself.
Hey Patrick. No I will not be reprising my role as cool cat. Derek and I kind of had a falling out. He now lives in Las Vegas. I believe he is going to be playing cool cat himself. When you look on IMDB. And you see the name Angel hope. That is Derek. He would fill in for a couple of shots because he would not want to pay me to come and work.
It's a damn shame. Cool Cat won't be the same without your voice behind the suit, and Daddy Derek's voice is so distinctive it will ruin the character. Derek does seem to be a bit of a difficult character to work with given all the drama he's had on this site. Good luck with Silent Life, anyway.
Jason, sorry but I have another question: Was it difficult to say your lines in that cat costume? There are scenes where it seems like Cool Cat has forgotten his lines, like "It is not cool to .... paint on someone's wall". I don't think you have forgotten those lines but I can imagine it would be not only hot (like you wrote it yourself) but probably also not easy to breath. Is this correct? Or was it something different? I'm just curious. Thank you.
Yes it was difficult to say the lines in the costume, the character is hard to play. Because Derek thinks that Cool Cat should always be dancing around. So that's why you hardly ever see the character still, so I was out of breath and tired. That's why there is some delay in some of the lines. Also so many of those scenes where shot in Palmdale, which is a desert area about 40 miles north of Los Angles. Plus it was in the summer, so it was very hot.
Thank you for your reply. I feel sorry for that. If I think that you not only have to run around on the set but also on the Hollywood Parade where you were shown dancing a lot, you were probably exhausted at the end of the day, including the breaks between the takes. And yes, even if you go up and down the stairs you were more jumping. Or move your legs when you lie down. Or what about the scene where you were driving the "Cool Cat Convertable", all by yourself (I thought Cool Cat supposed to be a kid)? The only scenes where you are not moving around are, when I'm not mistaken, the Merchandizing scenes and the post-credit-scene. I hope that, if you will play Cool Cat again in "Cool Cat vs. Wicked Witch", Derek will get you a better costume in which you can breath better.
Yeah driving the car was scary, the costume has such limited vision. It was scary going up and down the stairs also. Unfortunately there is not going to be Cool Cat VS The Wicked Witch. Derek scrapped the idea. Plus Derek is probably going to be moving out of state soon. And unless a real producer gets involved, I don't think there will be much more Cool Cat stuff. I do have a spoiler alert though, we shot a few new scenes and Derek is going to do another edition of Cool Cat Saves The Kids with the new scenes. Thanks for getting in touch with me. It's always nice to hear from fans.
I hope, the scenes were only short (earlier Derek said "Safety first" in the movie). I remember asking a puppeteer about a car driving scene, where he explained that a few scenes were very short and involves only the car to drive in one direction for a few seconds, so nobody gets hurt. Oh, that's interesting to hear. Derek seemed to enthusiastic about that project, saying it was the funniest script he ever wrote and that he was laughing half of the time writing it (according to the video). That statement reminded me of the title music of the German 70s-Comedy "Wenn die tollen Tanten kommen" (in the opening credits during the music was a laughing guy could be heard in the background, in a comedy show they said: We hear the screenplay writer at work"). And I saw the new Cool Cat trailer today, which involves you and Derek riding a motorcycle. Nice. Does it mean Derek will stop doing all that? On his website he was planing a movie about Mariuhana and a story called "I have Cancer". But I guess, those are Derek's secrets. I really hope, that you get many new jobs, hopefully in a comfortable costume. :-) Thank you again for your reply.
You're welcome. Derek has been talking about the marijuana project for a while.I'd like for Derek to keep Cool Cat going. Though he either needs a real producer or a lot more money to put in it.
I loved you in Cool Cat Saves The Kids!!! Do you have a PO Box? Because I'd love it if I can send my Cool Cat poster and DVD to be autographed by you! If not, that's fine, just keep being awesome! -Dante
I was going to say its too bad that people only seemingly know you as cool cat but then its on your reel. Oh well WAIT HOLY SHIT I SWEAR IVE SEEN YOU IN THAT ER STORIES SHOW
Not to mention having to drive (since Cool Cat is supposed to be a kid, Daddy Derek would've just driven him there instead). Also, you have far more talent than Cool Cat allows you to show.
Thank you for the compliment. The driving sequence you are referring to, was very uncomfortable to shoot. The cool cat head has no peripheral vision. And cool cat driving is a very big story flaw.
So "cool cat stops a School shooting" has been cancelled....do you still think that Derek will be playing cool cat HIMSELF for the "stranger danger" film?
Hi Jason, I listened to all the interviews you did with Ryan and the Super Media Bros; really enjoyed listening to your stories and seeing how cool of a dude you are! I used to be a costumed character for a restaurant and I can relate to the heat, and working with "crazy" people, but not like "Eric Garbage" ugh. Wanted to also say his film is back up here- czcams.com/video/2adTNvKGsOo/video.html but wishing you all the best :)
Dam that’s some pretty good acting range from being able to play Cool cat and a normal person. Are you still acting? And if so what projects have you been working on?
Thank you, I appreciate it. I’m not really pursuing acting anymore. The last three projects I have done, are still in the editing process. Who knows if they will get any distribution. A movie I was in called The Blessed Ones, came out on Amazon Prime last year. I highly doubt I’ll ever end up doing any more Cool Cat films.
You're acting's pretty great in all your non cool cat stuff is great. Although watchin Derek's shitty redub made me realize how much your voice helped make cool cat the "so bad it's good" masterpiece that it is
@@MrJason138 ha. seriously though, that fursuit could not have been very comfortable to act in. I can't imagine the vision or ventilation being very good in it.
The ventilation and vision is terrible. It would always piss me off that Derek would always want me to walk up and down the stairs so much. Plus my hand would blister from the device that make the mouth move.
@@MrJason138 oh, geez. seeing clips from the movie, i could tell the mouth moved, but just barely. plus, i thought it was weird that they used eyelids for cool cat when he was scared, but not when he was asleep.
Not having the eyelids was a result of the poor quality of the suit. And the production cost being low and not always being able to afford the proper costume people on set to change Cool Cats eyebrows and eyelids.
+Jason Johnson AHHHHHHHHW SHIET!!!!! JASON... JASON MOTHAFUCKIN JOHNSON THE GUY BEHIND COOL CAT ANSWER TO ME?!?! OMFG!!!!!! THIS IS THE BEST THAY OF MY DAY

i like how there's all this serious stuff with genuinely good acting and then there's just cool cat

*black dynamite sunny side up starts playing*
I felt sorry for you in Cool Cat bro... that costume must have been exhausting in tbat weather.
Thanks. Never got payed all that well. Would have been payed more if it had been union.
After seeing the interview with you, I was incredibly nervous that you wouldn’t be able to get work despite coming of as being a really cool guy, but I’m glad to see that you’re also really talented. Keep doing what you do!
Thank you so much, very kind of you to say! Thanks for watching the videos!
You're a very good actor.
Thank you very much.
You are much, much better than being a Cool Cat.
Thank You!
You're such a wonderful person and you make me so happy! Never stop doing what you're doing!!

Thanks Becca, I've always wanted to be called a hero.
ITS BEEN A WILD ONE TODAY
That’s good
Hope you're doing well! Absolutely loved this. Its great to see you found work other than cool cat honestly
Thank you so much.
Damn, your acting is spot on 👌

Exquisite!
Cool cat without you is going to be sad, I feel like your portrayal is what really brought the character to life, it just won’t be the same ;-;
Thank you for saying so! There was definitely a time period in my life where I really believed that all this could films could have gone somewhere.
OH MAN YOU'RE SO COOOLLLLLL COOOL CAT IS THE BEST KEEP THE GREAT WORK MY FRIEND
Thank you!
DER HE IS! But seriously you’re a really COOL actor
Seems like there's something in your hand that moves Cool Cat's mouth. How exactly did that mechanism work?
There is a cord that comes from the mouth. And the handle is inside the glove.
Bro i love your acting actually. Have you ever done voicework alone? I have a character that I could tooootally see with you as their voiceclaim
Huge fan!! Cool Cat is the bomb dot net!
Thank you David. I really appreciate that.
I went to the credits and saw him there
Saw who there? Do you mean me?
yes you
I dont know how i ended bup here....but i think i'll stay.

So what kind of things are you doing now Jason
Looking for a new agent and writing a book about being Cool Cat
The true orange cat. Dere he is! Also, I would not have wanted to be trapped in that suit.
Yeah, sometimes the suit can be claustrophobic. And hot. Thanks for reaching out.

Worse reasons to quit because of that. I’ve joked about audio commentary of all the behind the scenes insanity.
DEH HE EEEEES!
Yes indeed.

Jason Johnson it’s cool that you’re not doing cool cat films. I just wanted to see if you were still in the game.
I would love to be in the game, if I could find the work.
