@@zwet4269 I watch today Sasha highlighted from the URC and what was interesting was almost every play that made Sasha stand out was assist by Manie. It made me release how easier when forget how the Boks struggle to score a try or even two tries before Manie. Because of our attack being so bad in relation to other top teams, I think by the end of this year Sasha will become number 2 10 for us and by the end of 2025, 1st choice.
@@JohnMichaels-fs7bi yeah just look at the second test against Ireland it didn't look like we were gonna score a try. I do think Am playing can help with creativity when Pollard is starting. I'd be tempted to have Manie at 10 and Sacha at 12, Sacha to take care of goal kicking.

Mitigation applies if tackler can be seen to make effort to lower his body. There was no effort to reduce height…therefore no mitigation
Andre initial contact was shoulder to shoulder. We see mitigation all the time if say initial contact is shoulder on shoulder and then shoulder on head is a secondary impact. So why can't it apply in this situation, where initial contact is shoulder on shoulder and then the head on head impact is secondary. There's been a lot of dangerous play that wasn't called in the first 2 rounds across all the internationals, world rugby is all over the place with what they're calling and what they're letting go, they need to make a decision about how they wanna ref the game and just bloody stick with it

I think this will be two exciting teams to participate in the championship, with player compatibility taking into consideration.
Agree that it was a red card. I thought the referee was excellent today. Lots of discipline issues for the Boks to address but I think Rassie will be satisfied with several of the youngsters. Go Bokke!
Hollie was amazing. So calm, polite, in control, clear, concise and fair. Should be a regular tier 1 men’s test match referee.

Manny libbok missed 3 out of 5 goalking but he made 2 tries . So quite sad he cannot get his goalkicking riight

I think for a team to play togethe for the first time the boks were quite good. I think the defence at this stage midfield in broken play is a worry as it was against Ireland
Apart from his kicking, Manie was OUTSTANDING! He personally MADE three tries and his defense was top class! Manie is the man for the formal phases where he has become a real general. Sacha, excellent player that he is in open play, is NOT the answer at 10 (just like Damian Willemse). Apart from that, his wonderful solo run which led to a great try was undone only a few minutes later when his poor defense handed the seven points back to the Portuguese. To his credit: his goalkicking was exemplary. The difference in rating points between Manie and Sacha is actually quite hilarious! And Lukhanyo Am ... like Mapimpi (the open-line try scorer) one of the most overrated players we've had for some time. His done one or two lucky back-hand passes in the past, and that's really about the sum total of his claim to fame. He is NOT quick mate, he is exceptionally slow for a 13 and his defense is that of a touch rugby player. Jesse Kriel is much, no MUCH better than him. I think RG's Man Of The Match was well-deserved. If it wasn't him though, I would have considered Libbok very seriously for the honour.
The Ref was poor especially the way she had bias towards Portuguese at scrum time, when scrum goes down and backwards they still allowed to play, she got in the way of players and the RG reversal was clear bias
To say the ref was poor is just not right . In general i think she controled the game realy well
the argument about butch james doesnt hold water in the modern game. Imagine surrendering a backline position to a back with better kicking accuracy than your flyhalf. It boxes you in into choosing at least one back who can kick. The Manie selection is a paired selection. You have to pair him with a kicking back. What a way to compromise 2 positions just to put on a flyhalf who can't kick (basic requirements btw). I'll take a braam van straten / morne steyn style 10 over a flyhalf like manie in test matches where all points matter and defenses are top notch
Are we forgetting who kick for France. A team that is player some of the best rugby. Sasha will give us the best of both worlds, attacking the line and a good kicker in the future. Manie and Pollard require assistance, Manie need someone to take the kicking duties but what is more concerning is Pollard. Why Pollard is more concerning is that every podcast are saying the same think that I agree with and that is that Pollard need a good scrumhalf and Willie in order to us to score tries. That is a shocker to admit. When Pollard play it seem like the field is not wide enough to get space for the backline and when Manie plays there is much space but we need to close our eyes when he kick. For close games, I will still select Pollard before Manie because of his kicking.
It's not that we insist our 10 kick, its that ALL the other positions have players who deserve to be there and DO NOT deserve to be dropped to accommodate Manie's useless goal kicking.
We accommodate Pollard,Willie and FaF even though our attack and defence is weaken .
The head clash rule is ridiculous. We see head clashes in football all the time and it's not even a foul nevermind a card. Rugby is supposed to be a contact sport
What is ludicrous is for you to rate Manie so highly. If you’re a fly half you must be able to kick. And he can’t. I’m sorry, but it’s time for him to be sidelined. He’s had enough chances. Otherwise he must be moved to another position.
Feel the same , he even rated Jordan highly after Wales. Go listen to that episode.
