    I get goosebumps when he says “What if I don’t have time?” There will be sad parts at the end. I’m bring tissues.

      Talk, Tales and Trivia with Stephanie the entire live aid performance will be a tear jerker. In this movie he finds out about his HIV contraction prior to the performance

      Freddie was diagnosed in 1987 however apparently that will be on the movie. I think is a good decision otherwise people would have said queen members wanted to swept negative aspects under the rough

    One thing people need to understand about this movie. It is NOT a documentary. It is a movie based on Freddie and the band.

    Freddie suspected he was HIV positive in 1985, but wasn't fully diagnosed until 1986 after The Magic Tour. From what I've heard in interviews, Freddie had himself tested for HIV but either they came negative or inconclusive. He wasn't diagnosed with AIDS until 1987, when he saw a KS lesion on his shoulder.

      It was actually a lesion on his hand, according to his PA.

      The first time he was tested, he didn't get the results. His friends and lovers in NYC were dying and he assumed the worst. No one knows exactly when he contracted HIV, but it was likely between 1984-86, when he lived for a time in NYC and frequented several of the most notorious gay sex clubs in the "Meat Packing", I shit you not, its really called that, district.

    “It’s gonna show how he got AIDS.” I am _not_ looking forward to that scene. But yeah, I’m old enough to have been alive during that era, and seeing it firsthand. It shattered me when Freddie announced he had AIDS, and it wrecked me when he died. (Also, because another teen hero of mine, Eric Carr, died the same day of heart cancer).

    I'm completely psyched for this film. My only hope and concern, based on the end of the trailer, is that they don't deify him too much. Freddie in public was far different than Freddie in private and in public, he never came out as gay and only announced his AIDS diagnosis the day before he died. They'll respect that, to some degree.

    In the film, Freddie will learn his HIV diagnosis in 1985, prior to Live Aid. This is from Peter Freestone, Freddie's PA.

      @buffycatnip Před 5 lety

      it's possible he had it during live aid (with mild symptoms that were easily dismissed) but it wasn't confirmed until the late 80's.

    Just wanted to let you know that Bryan Singer is the only one getting Director credit, something to do with how much filmed, according to DGA rules. Other than that, nice reaction, love your enthusiasm for the film.

    it is about how queen started and gaining their success n freedie coming to terms with his homosexuality. finding out in 84 he was hiv positive, how they were in a slump and almost broke up. but live aid breathed new life into them. stole the show. leave it there. i don't want to leave depressed.
