I'm fascinated by these stories and I've been living here since 2003 and just recently learned that NC is Bigfoot country in some ways. I also just became aware of how vast our forests are out West. I had my 2nd and definitely my most terrifying encounter in the Chattahoochee. Deeeeeep in the Chattahoochee. Unless the squatch tore it down there's a Summit Goliath climber still in the tree out there near a creek. I had just bought thar damn thing and not used it once. $425.00 BOOM! Gone. I wasnt about to go get it. Then or now, you couldn't melt and pour me in that section of those woods. I'm pretty sure i set up smack in the middle of a squatch game drive lane and I'll tell ya. They didn't like that one bit. I honestly didn't think i was gonna make it outta the woods that day.
Scott i meet a asheville area sheriffs deputy who lives in kingsport,tn. He told me they receive lots of cryptid sighting calls from the hurricane creek area located west of waynesville,nc.
I live in Smoky Mntns near Dollywood..remember when the mntns were burned few yrs ago?..my farm since the 🔥 has become infested with 👣..plz interview me ive got many encounters 👀
Nothing here I live in the south mountains. Total nonsense. I do agree with the gentleman that mountain people are some of the finest people in the world.
I had a sighting not too far from Sylva and Cherokee on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Real late at night about 11:30, Midnight I was driving about 45mph my girlfriend noticed something black on the edge of the tree line off the side of the road I started to slow down anticipating a bear was about to jump out the closer I got to it I realized it was upright like a man it took one giant step into the middle of the road. I had a light bar on my jeep I turned it on the creature lifted its hand to cover its face I blinded it. It then stood there staring at us through the headlights for a solid 2-3 mins before taking another giant step off the other side of the road and down an embankment. I'd put the creature somewhere between 8-9 ft tall. Real long arms. Bulky shoulders and a pointed head. I never believe stuff like that until I seen it with my own two eyes. I get these creatures are very alusive but I know they exist. Wether they are a living creature or not is beyond me but this thing had real looking thick shaggy hair. The sighting accured in the last curve before the masonic monument above Black Camp Gap near Maggie Valley.
I live in central NC. Having spent a good deal of time in the woods I have a few encounters myself. In northern Richmond County back in the 1980s a friend and I came upon a large trackway of fresh tracks along a creek to which we followed. We smelled a God awful odor then had several screams directed at us to which my buddy ran and left me and I soon followed. We came back and made a plaster cast of a print which oddly enough had three toes. In neighboring Montgomery County, in the Uwharries I had something large stalk my camp around 11:30pm till about 1:00am on night. It was drawn in by my food which I had prepared on the fire. I was the only one in the camp site that night. I threw some of the food into the treeline and next morning it was gone. Upon walking the woods the next morning at light, I saw where a large animal had pushed a path through very dense vegetation but being late fall, the leaf clutter and hard terrain revealed no tracks. The third and last sighting was a few years ago in northern Hartnett County north of Raven Rock park. A buddy of mine took me to a rural dirt road near a creek where he knew of an old grist mill. He was into bottles and wanted to check it out. Upon parking beside the road, I started to follow him into the woods and I heard a distinct loud "whoop" behind me. The hill went down from the road considerably and when I turned around what we can best describe as a "monkey" like animal dropped straight down out of a tree and ran away. I darted back across the road to look down the embankment to get a look at it but it had vanished into the dense brush. The quick glimpse that I got of the thing I can only describe as a "chimpanzee" in appearance and about 3-4 feet tall. I guess it could have been an escaped chimp but who knows? That is my sightings.
