  • Titleist TS3... A New 3-wood in my bag? Titleist have sent me a new Titleist ts3 fairway wood to play with. am I going to hit it miles off the tee? will I hit more fairways with it? is it suited for me? what fairway wood should I be using? what fairway wood should a mid handicap player be using? should you hit 3-wood off the tee instead of driver? win this video I take the brand new Titleist ts3 fairway wood out onto the golf course. will it stand the test of time? with the imminent release of the Taylormade m5 and Taylormade m6, and the Callaway epic flash ranges... this club is going to have to be special to stay in the bag.which will be the best 3-wood of 2019?

    After changing to the TS 3 driver (because of the great numbers on trackman and on course) I also tried the TS3 fairway woods and never thought It would replace my G400. ....but it performed so welll (more ballspeed and distance ) from the deck and off a low tee. Indeed ....Poefffff...straight down the fairway 😎👍🏽🏌️

    I’ve been hoping you’d post a video on the TS2/TS3 fairway woods! I’ve heard nothing but great things about them. I know of a bunch of guys who switched to them including some you tubers and they can’t stop singing it’s praises!
    For most of my life my 3wd was my favorite club in my bag. I used it a lot off the tee and off the deck. Also, I’ve almost always carried a Titleist FW. But as driver technology has improved I’ve found myself using my driver off the tee more and more. I’m generally really accurate with it. I average 285 total distance most days with a smooth swing and have been averaging 85-90% fairways hit. Because of this I’m using my fairway wood less and less.
    I’ve recently puta Cobra F8 FW in the bag because its so forgiving off the turf(rails). It’s not quite as long as my old Titleist 917 but it has actually gotten me using my FW more again! I rarely use it off the tee though.
    If the the TS3 can compete off the turf with the cobra it might actually give me another option off the tee again! Which would be nice!

    Playing in soft conditions in the southeast US, max carry is what it's all about. I find my normal high flight low spin ball still goes further than trying to hit down and trap it. It does run a bit more but the spin is so high it doesn't carry very well.

    Love my TS3 driver and 13.5 FW. I use the 3 wood for mostly of the tee. All the par 5"s at my course a reachable in 2 with a long iron 3-4-5 iron. I carry the driver around 275-280 and the 3 wood 250-260. I use the Evenflow white 85G Xstiff in the 3 wood. I love the compact shape and look. Feel is also great.

    Would love to see a similar vid with the TS2 for sure as that one has been billed as more of the bomber than the 3. And a 3w has to be forgiving off the deck to get a spot in my bag.

    Excellent video. Much prefer this style of “review” than all the other guys on YT hitting 50 balls on a monitor and going through the numbers which us normal golfers have no chance of matching anyway. Personally I want to know how it performs on the course, in the wind, how it runs out etc. and that’s hard to do on a monitor.
    Big thumbs up James 👍

    Just replaced my 3wood and hybrid with a titleist 917 5wood. 3 wood was hardly ever used. Putting the 5 wood in has allowed me to hit more consistent and dropping the hybrid as it was very similar to the new club has allowed for more space else where. Maybe a extra long iron to bridge that gap we will see over the next few weeks.

  • @philipsmith3871
    @philipsmith3871 Před 5 lety

    I like a #3 wood to be useful off the tee, as my course has 5 Par 4s between 300metres and 360metres, and on several if you do not hit straight for 220 metres you end up in water or a bunker and a #3 wood is the safe option off the tee. Also relability off the deck is important and consistent accuracy when doing so.

    I don't use a 3 wood in the spring I had a full line bag fit at titleist's national fitting centre and due to producing some of the lowest spin numbers the fitter had ever seen I was fit into a 5 and 7 wood, even though I'm a single figure handicaper, shows how important a proper fitting is.

    i've had the same razr hawk 3-wood since it first came out - every other club in my bag has been swapped out except for it. learned to hit it off the deck when i went to scotland in 2015.
    versatility is important for sure - i use it for normal 3-wood shots but i often use it when i need to control the ball flight instead of driver, hybrids, even long irons sometimes.

    I am not the longest hitter but I want a 3w that I can hit 240 yards off the tee - more is always nice but a 3w is a fairway finder and go to driving club for 350-380 yard par 4s. I have never really got away with 3w off the deck (5w for me for that) but I do like to be able to scuttle a 3w under trees 150 yards down fairway - although that may say more about the accuracy of my driver

    1. Do you hv a hard time finding things to talk about everyday.
    2. I don’t use a fairway wood anymore I use a 3 hybrid callaway XR steelhead I can hit it 220 to 230 carry, it’s my go to club if I’m not hitting the driver very well that day.
    3. In 2019 are you going to leave the flag stick when putting when doing your videos, I’m thinking not just because you have this new putter that retrieves the ball from the hole. Thanks keep up the good work. Bro😃👍🏌🏼

  • @KingSadim
    @KingSadim Před 5 lety

    3 wood and PW on a Par 5, what would a big hitter with a driver be left with? I currently use the M4 3 wood, I find that it goes straighter if I hit it towards the bottom of the face so off the deck or really low tee. If I hit it higher up the face it has a tendency to hook uncontrollably. My main reason for a 3 wood is distances of 250-280, I'm not good at hitting a driver with less power and my 1 iron hits too low for approaches to greens.
