Showing it on a BMW E46 now, but it is pretty much the same for BMW E39 and some other models.
1. Press and hold the left button on the dashboard until it says test on the display.
2. Release, then press 19 times quickly, until it says 19 in the top right corner of the display.
3. Release, then when it shows l_off press once quickly. Then press two times, until it says 2 in the top right corner.
Then activate the test of the BMW dashboard by pressing the left button once again. You can do this as many times as you want.

in between the fog lights and windows fluid light there is one lamp thats not burning on your dash(i have the same problem) do you know what is that light about?
My airbag light dont glow
Its fine, but it should light up for few seconds when you insert key and put it into firt position.

what does the light / image of the full car mean. the left middle section of lights
When there is an open door or a problem with the light, the full image of the car appears with the corresponding icon (open door, trunk, issue with a lamp). Hope that helps :)
Why your airbag light is on. I have problem with my bmw e46. Same light.
There's an issue with a sensor in the passenger seat that should determine wheather there is a person seated there, or not. Related to the airbag deployment. Quite a popular problem on E46.
@@RangelChannel have the same thing, once someone is seated in my passenger it randomly turns on or off, (its mostly on) then it does this like 3h even after there is no passenger then its quiet until someone sits there again. Expensive fix? can be diy? thanks
