    For the record: Galakrond shaman had 70%+ WR at realese and his worst macth up (50%) was Galakrond shaman itself

    Shaman and warrior Galakronds were so satisfying to play
    The shaman one can still be good again someday...

      The shaman's invoke would be awesome if it could keep up with aggro, but the galakrond effect is probably not good enough

    I feel like you aren’t giving the Warlock Galakrond his due. Both the warlock invoke cards ended up nerfed if I recall correctly

    As a Control Priest player, Galakrond was one of my favorite moments to play in Hearthstone, and I especially loved mirrors because it was all about the infinite value and who would use it the best. I understand it’s not what most people were looking for in a game of Heathstone, but I loved it.

    I love Galakrong. I think it's neat that a lot of the kronds are similar to one another. Invoke wise, priest and rogue both add a minion to hand, shaman and warlock both summon minions, and shaman and warrior both give immediate damage. Battlecry wise, warlock and shaman still summon minions, rogue and warrior both draw cards and improve them, and priest and shamman provide removal.

    This may have been one of the coolest expansions in the game's history, but it came at the cost of changing the game forever. There is a very obvious difference in quality between almost every card released before and after DoD. Before, you had Druids basically passing for 4 turns just so they could play a 5 mana 10/10 rush. After, sure, a 5 mana 10/12 Taunt that you can just play. I remember when Amber Watcher was revealed and people were amazed at how much it did for the cost. (premium 4 mana stats, and a 2 mana effect, together, for 5 mana?) It didn't see any play.

    Flavorwise, Galakrond might have been my favorite package ever. Working all game towards awakening a draconic monstrosity is cool as hell.
    It's a shame that by Scholomance, all of them got nerfed, except Priest (which was also fun, but the mirrors were dreadful).
    I replayed them a bit in March Twist, but I'm still waiting for a Twist format that isn't Wild power level, where they can actually compete.

    id love it if bliz did a twist set around descent of dragons and buffed some of the galakrond support cards (specifically the -1 mana off of both the neutrals and something like making awaken! damage all enemy characters instead of all minions)

    I've play from beta and never touched rogue until Galakrond rogue happened.
    It was the reason I started playing and feel in love with rogue, good times.

    One detail that I would like to add to Galakrond priest, is that it got immensely buffed and was a good deck since Ashes of Outland on standard format, that buff being the removal of the Year of the Raven cards (Witchwood, Boomsday and Rastakhan Rumble), which made the Priest minion pool waaaaaaaaaay better. Out of the 18 minions that rotated out, only Grave Horror was a loss... and maybe Omega Medic if I'm feeling really generous.

    I'm pretty sure that demon hunter and evolve shaman were the best decks in the darkmoon fair, not control priest, in fact I'm pretty sure priest was one of the worst classes in the game that expansion if I remember correctly, at least in standard

    • @istvanvincze7411
      @istvanvincze7411 Před měsícem

      It was a little different in wild, but not crazy much. Darkmoon is when post nerf darkglare warlock began terrorizing everything all the way until it got nerfed to the ground in late stormwind. Meanwhile quest mage has recently died because illucia existed, making all reno priest games from auto loss from pretty much always insta win. Reno priest was also the second best deck in the game and it would continue to also terrorize the game until stormwind, and it only climbed back from pirate warrior and odd hunter hell in sunken city ( for this reason I think alterac was the worst wild has ever been, pirate warrior and odd hunter were 50%-90% meta depending on your pocket meta, demon seed warlock was at least fun for one side ). Finally for priest, darkmoon revived the big priest archetype with blood of Ghuun, the archetype that has been dead since late ulduum.
      Relatively comprehensively, that's priest's stance in that era. All in all, priest was the second strongest class and has been for a while, and would continue to be it.

      @@istvanvincze7411 oh yeah I forgot about how annoying big priest was at that time in wild, it was so hard to play my funny cthun galakrond nzoth rogue because everyone was just playing big priest in low rank wild and that just completely messed up any fun meme deck that wasn't a silly otk

    • @davidwijaya8563
      @davidwijaya8563 Před měsícem

      Yeah. I remember rng control priest being the best deck for high legend on scholomance(maybe) but bad deck anywhere else.
      As for early darkmoon, the best deck was aggro dh and evolve shaman (a lot of shamanstone meme since custodian powered up most shaman deck at the time)

  • @jinh605
    @jinh605 Před měsícem

    Strong disagree on your Galakrond warlock slander. During the post DH nerfs of Ashes, Galakrond Warlock was the best deck in the game and borderline S-tier for warping standard. Granted it was more the power of prenerf Demonic Pact that broke it, but combined with the Fiendish rites nerf it gives Warlock a strong contender for actually one of the best Galakronds. Its almost impossible to pick a worst Galkrond cuz they were all so good. But id go with Warrior because it was only really good with Scion at 3 and failed to be tier 1 ever again.

      @@FlareHearthstone best i could find was the april 14th 2020 meta report which was right before the april 20th nerf of sacrificial pact (which i accidentally called demonic pact). data is a bit misleading since galakrond control warrior was the only deck that really beat demon hunter but it was very much tier 1.
