      Powersports Pete I'm a new rider and I just bought my first bike. 2015 Yamaha bolt for 4400. I can't get off the fucking thing haha. If you dont mind me asking, how much in total did you spend on modifications.

    • @powersportspete4270
      @powersportspete4270  Před 6 lety +2

      Congrats on the purchase. Great deal on that Bolt you bought too! I really don't know what the mods would have cost me for a few reasons. 1) I manage at a dealership and get steep discounts on parts and labor. 2) I bartered for some of the parts. 3) Some of the parts were provided by vendors/sponsors.
      However, if you were to total the retail on those items, plus labor, it's somewhere in the $4000-$4500 range.
      I've owned the Bolt almost 5yrs (June 2013), so this transformation (which is ongoing) has taken place over a long period of time. And as new vendors/sponsors, or new parts are made available, I try to prioritize whats important to me vs. what my true cost is.
      I also spend time on www.yamahastarbolt.com forum. Tons of pics and useful information there.
      Good luck with whatever you decide to modify on your Bolt, and more importantly..have fun!

      If I had to pay retail (i manage at a dealership, have vendor contacts, etc.), not counting labor, a conservative estimate would be about $3,000. Add in labor and your up to about $5,000.
      Seems crazy, but I've had the bike for 5 years, and have done a lot of mods over an extended period of time. Some parts are purchased for me, some are provided by vendors like Parts Unlimited, Tucker Rocky, Western Powersports, etc.)

    So you did not installed that KOSO speedo. I wonder how it works because when I saw one video that guy who installed it on Yamaha bolt he had to write down total mileage from the old speedo and manually put numbers into KOSO, but when I saw guys installing this speedo to Harleys the total mileage automatically showed up on their new KOSO speedo. Is this has anything to do with computers and memory that Harleys probably have and the Yamaha bolt doesn't??

    How well does your fairing setup manage wind? I'm having hella problems with buffeting. Tried both the OEM bullet cowl and various windshields. Also, did you have to do anything special to mount the fairing?

    • @powersportspete4270
      @powersportspete4270  Před 6 lety

      Thanks for the question. That particular fairing did a pretty good job keeping the wind off of my chest, and the laminar lip pushed it to just about eye level, but the air was clean and non-buffeting. I posted 3 videos on how to mount that fairing. Look at my channel and you'll be able to find them.

      Totally plug and play. No splicing wires. It's as simple as can be. It does require a simple set up and programming. I am in NO WAY technically inclined, but it really is simple to get it set perfectly.
