HEAVENLY with no commentary. Wow. To hear only the skis, the spectators, such a pleasure.

👍🎿. Beautiful day, good snow, nice race. The winner took all, others had no chance that day.
Sad that Mikaela could not participate 😥. Best recovery to her from my sofa. 🌹Broken ankle here too!

I thought I heard a few people saying that it did not matter if their partner could ski well. My uncle was an Olympic Alpine racer. My aunt was an avid Masters racer. Their kids ski well. Two were big racers. Tahoe City and its environs are really a small and tight community. Everyone seems to know everyone else if you are a ski racer. I think my aunt and uncle and their families have enjoyed the company of the other ski racers throughout their lives. You do tend to have to be more daring (and perhaps more skilled) than the typical person. I remember a Palisades (Squaw Valley) Olympic racer recently married a Canadian Olympic racer. Partly that may be because they met ski racing; but it is likely also because they have a good amount in common. Skiing is only one thing; but it is something you can do all your life. It is also nice if your partner doesn't scream at the way your drive. Ski racers are notorious for scaring others with the way they drive. I think I was the only one on my work (business) ski team that did not have an accident going to and from Tahoe. I think I was one of the top ski business based amateur ski racers eventually. I lived in San Jose then. I have also been lucky in that my Grandfather has left me a good amount of money in a generation skipping trust (one more aunt has to die before it gets split up). I have a lot of company in this around Tahoe. That's good too.

AJ: The next thing for you to concentrate on should be trying to be light on your edges. This will help you get rid of the unnecessary skidding in turns and after them. It should help to make you quicker from ski to ski. It should make you faster with less skidding. It should make you concentrate on making really good turns.

I missed seeing Katharina Huber today. Is it my imagination? Or is she skiing less GS these days? Katharina if you want me to coach you in GS to help your results, I would be happy to. I think I could probably improve them. However, your second run in the last slalom did look very good. For some people it can be good to concentrate on one thing at a time??? Let me know.
