  • Welcome To For The Love Of Caravans....
    Hello and welcome back to the channel. After we upgraded our caravan we were asked a few times what awning did we buy for it. So while away at the weekend I filmed a little review of our 2020 Kampa Air Ace Pro 400 Awning.

    Hi there. We have a Kampa Rally Air Pro Plus 260. We wanted an awning big enough for us 2, but that could be opened up for extra space if needed. We used it in The Lakes in August it was brill. We have 2 side walls out of the 3 that are interchangable too, so door position can be changed. It got wet on a few days (thats what is needed) but dried ok between heavy showers. So now the stitching should be expanded and ready for anything.
    Your isolation valves really should be closed after you inflate awning. They are there to protect the other air beams if one goes down. So if one goes, they do not all go. If your had a puncture in one your whole awning would deflate as the whole system is open. Much safer to close them all up - but don't forget to open them when deflating. It does also mean it's easier isolating a tube for fixing/replacement.
    I love our Kampa awning - we leave our top vent open all the time to stop condensation.

      @@ForTheLoveOfCaravans thats ok. Didnt want you to get a flat awning! Also we were told by our awning man that the packing pads were for under the beams if you need to adjust the height. He said he thought they were a but expensive and a waste. So we didnt buy them. I like your footprint under the carpets. We have 2 carpets. 1 fir main body & one for the plus extension on ours.
      Have fun & enjoy your awning. We've been into air tents and awnings fir a few years now

    We love our Kampa awning. I know many have had problems with their’s but ours has been good so far. We love the ease of putting up an air awning and the space it gives us. We did invest in the additional front fly screens and like being able to leave them zipped in place even with the front panels on. Means we can just drop the front when it’s hot for even more breeze and fresh air. Thanks for showing us around.

    Nice awning, like the one point inflation and the mesh for the doors. The bright green guy's are a good idea to make them well visible and stop you walking into them. Thanks for showing us around.

    Nice looking awning not to big giving you that extra space that you need on a family holiday, and as Ian said it withstood everything the Cornwall storms threw at it, we were there at the same time just a few pitches away 👍👍👍

    I see several channels refer to awnings as “divorce in a bag “ I’m not sure where you stand but we never have a issue , it’s heavy yes and sometimes wish it could be lighter but when the bad weather comes it’s worth havin particularly in Cornwall , ours is a Kampa 2 years old with no problems
    Thanks Gavin &zehra

    about 3 years ago we had to buy a new caravan as our older bailey had went past it's sell by date, we found an bailey pursuit 450/4 which came with everything including the Kampa air ace pro 400, it was like brand new, Best awning we've ever had, we bought the Kampa sabre lights for it and what a difference they made, the only thing we found is in heavy rain it tends to leak, so every year it gets sprayed with waterproofing but other than that we love it

    I liked the "limpet" things you put on to secure the awning to the caravan at the ends. As you say, it did really well in those storms and that's an exposed position you were on at T Farm.

    Hello from overseas! 👋very nice show around of your tent! My husband and I are thinking of getting one tomorrow. I noticed you have the lovely striped kampa continental carpet, and it fits perfect....this astounds me, because I have searched high and low here in Germany for one to fit the ace 400 pro.The ones offered on the internet (that is if you'll find an affordable one for the ace 400 line...)..all measure 2,50 x 4 m....which is way too short on one end....cause the tent actually measures 4x 3,doesn't it ? DO you have a clue or a suggestion for us?
    Thank you. Loved your Video! 👍😊

    Looks really nice. Just had my 1st year with caravan. We were at Presthaven the week before you. I have Bradcot full (poled) awning. It's fab but poles not the best and takes about 2 hours to put up. Looking for air awning. Your previous set up was full awning and rear pod. How do you find living with a smaller awning. Biggest one I can find is 400. But wonder if I should get one with an extension option?

    • @ForTheLoveOfCaravans
      @ForTheLoveOfCaravans  Před 2 lety +1

      We have not really missed the extra space to be honest. We don't take as much as we used too. We were looking at the 500 but it would have covered half the front nearside window. So we went for the 400 which is ore than enough. We have a full poled awning that came with the caravan. We have not even tried or set that one up. We will next year at some point. Will decide to keep or sell.

      @@fat-shotgolf2937 well you can spend anything from £750 to £2500 for an Isabella. For us at £1200 this Kampa Air Ace 400 Pro ticked all the boxes. It leaked a little until it weathered. Now its fantastic... very easy to set up with the Kampa Gale 12v pump.

    Looks great, but I have a quick question during really hot weather some of these air awnings have popped, can the individual air bags be changed easily if they fail ?

    • @ForTheLoveOfCaravans
      @ForTheLoveOfCaravans  Před 3 lety

      Hi Rich.. I have heard of a few stories of the tubes failing in hot weather. There are cut of valves so you can remove individual bladders so you can repair them or replace. I have a electric Kampa pump so I guess the 9PSI is more accurate then a hand pump. Over filling them surely would cause a problem.

    Hi Ian I've had hama awning for the pass five years and they r strong very please with them the pads what u mention about r to wedge bettseen air tube and van to tension the awning to seal the Brading in the awning rail and stop the awning from sliding in the rail hav u got the up rite poles on the awning against the van to give it a tight seal always close th valves in the roof so b if a tube fails the whole awning won't go down .kev
