I've played Kaiserreux once, as Russia.
In a few months bolsheviks came back, took over and begun to speedrun Stalin atrocities in a few years while the state was barely holding together. Than I got couped by the intelligence guy who had idea to purge like everything.

TNO, Red Flood, Pax Britannia, Judgement Day and Kaiserredux are some of the most interesting HOI4 mods
The New Order is... problematic. There is a lot of good stuff in it, but there is also plenty of really awful and down right concerning things, not to mention the devs themselves.
Don't remember which one it was specifically, but one of the devs is actually, unironically, a neo-nazi and it shows in the stuff he wrote for the mod.

Also my favorite alternative history scenario (besides kaiserreich) is "what If Napoleon never came to power. For one, I'm a huge napoleonic era buff, secondly the sheer amount of changes that would bring to the world is mind blowing. Maybe the US never gets all that land for cheap (Louisiana purchase), maybe the democratic ideals of the french revolution never get such a firm grip on europe (as they did thanks to Napoleon's conquests) and heck, maybe even the french republic is snuffed out by the monarchies of europe or its internal divisions without a skilled strongman to whip it into shape. The possible changes are endless really. AlternateHistoryHub has made a video on it if your interested
I would suggest kaiser Cat Cinema’s still ongoing Kaiserreich documentary series. It more comprehensive and up to date (so far) with the lore.
Not to even mention the absolute bops it has

Having played the us civil war myltuple times with the different factions, i can say it can be an absolute meat grinder. Fighting on three fronts is not fun, and it even worse for the feds depending the choices made.
If you ever plan to play the mod, I would recommend going as either Brazil, Canada, Commune of France, or Japan.
EDIT: I also recommend checking the divided states series on Kaiser cat Cinema. In addition to the other content on their channel, especially their Hawaii video.

It's sad Lord of the Rings and Narnia probably don't exist in this mod's history. Jrr Tolkien and CS Lewis dead or their writing never getting off the ground.
According to the lore, the Lord of the Rings still exists in this timeline. Nothing about CS Lewis surviving or not.

CS Lewis is still in Britain iirc, although the lore for this may be a bit outdated@@Bronasaxon

You should react to the lore of "Fuhrerreich" It's basically "What if Germany Lost World War 1" from the perspective of the people in the Kaiserreich world.
And for mods for hoi4, i would like to recommend EAW.
If i remember right, Hitler send a letter to the british soldier who spared him. A letter or something similar.
It was retconned a lot ago. Hitler died during intervention in RCW due to mustard gas attack
My favorite mod for hoi4. Nothing like the clusterfrick of the second american civil war. All 4 sides of it

34:50 Honestly having Goering as the leader of that state makes a lot of sense as in our history he was a big contributor to the early success of Hitler. Herman Goering was very popular.
Goering was at that time a decorated war hero, a veteran of the Imperial German Air Force seen by the general public as the modern day Knights, and a member of wealthy conservative family.
And his father, Heinrich Ernest Goring, was the Governor-General of German South West Africa and a prominent German diplomat so it's not like there is no connection.
there is a channel that makes documentaries about the Kaiserreich timeline in depth, in total it spans hours upon hours and they even have a few live action short films

Kaiserreich is a mod for the Paradox strategy game Hearts of Iron 4. There's a great channel that focuses specifically on Kaiserreich lore called Kaiser Cat Cinema. I'd highly recommend you check it out and also do a play through of the mod

if someone german were to rule over the fictive colony of mittelafrika, it should have been paul graetz. that guy was aquainted with the emperor, was riding zebras in his free time, made a roadtrip from east to west coast through africa with a car from the early 20th century, and most importantly wasnt known for flaunting racism around...
Another excellent alternate history of WWI both fascinating and completely unique replaces the clash of nations we know with War of the Worlds. "The Great Martian War" is alternate history at its best.

youre right about the USSR and stalin but if stalin didn't taken over better people would have ruled like trotsky or kruschev althogh it would have made another soviet civil war if he didnt aswell..
Still a better timeline then our own. Even if you take the idea that there would be a 2nd American CW in it; which, frankly, I am not sold on.
