So they had dialogue that could make Nick not be a total ass in our eyes. That's nice but they should've used it in the vanilla game before the Last Stand update to be honest.

When you listen to ALL the dialogue, used and unused, you find that Nick genuinely seems to grow attached to the people around him. It’s very easy to categorize him as a jerk who acts nice to stay safe, but in revival and The Parish lines not only his words but his tone really showcases how much he’s grown to care for the survivors. The fact that in specific circumstances Nick will apologize to Ellis for being a jerk... I dunno man, it just really hits me. The entirety of The Parish and Hard Rain is great when it comes to showing how he’s grown, one of his lines literally saying that Ellis, Coach, and Rochelle are the only three people he’s ever trusted before. I love all of the L4D2 survivors, but when it comes to complexity, Nick takes the cake. He’s an asshole and a smartass no doubt, but it’s illustrated that even if he’ll be fine leaving one of them behind, he chooses to at least try to protect them. I don’t think the crew would have nearly as much personality and bond if Nick weren’t around-he’s the definition of someone you could only befriend in an apocalypse. And I know this is most likely totally random, but me and many others usually have Nick as the bot who leads the team and does the most reviving/healing. Funny coincidence, but pretty fitting all things considered.
Its a theory that Nick and Francis knew eachother way before the infection. Both have a symbol for a group (Nick in his rings and a tattoo for Francis) and both are criminals.
It's implied (though still speculation) that Nick and Francis have the same criminal connections - nicks ring matches a tattoo francis has. Though i do find it weird that Nick is connected to a Biker gang though it could have been a gift by them for a service Nick provided.
I'm glad that Valve added back a lot of the cut dialogue. It adds so much more personality to these already amazing characters, and it just makes the game feel more alive.

There have always been headcanons of Nick pretending to play nice with the other survivors just for his own sake. But now that this line is officially in the game, I like that Nick genuinely is sympathetic for Francis and what he, Louis and Zoey lost. Unfortunate this line was cut at all because these interactions are great for showing more sides of the characters.
Nick is a pretty good guy, Bill is just like him but more of a veteran than some rich jerk who actually has a golden heart. Respect Bill. Be like Nick. Your awesome. Goodbye.

Back 4 Blood really showed me how badly we all need L4D3 by Valve. They're the only reason this entire formula concept was successful and did as much (some might say more) for the Zombie sub genre in gaming as titans like Capcom. But they only make games if they want to anymore. And they seldom ever want to.
In the intro, Nick also: Turn around and shoot the Jockey riding Ellis. Cheer Coach up with a humorous joke. Pull Coach up when the latter stunned by military bombing. Pull Ellis back inside the elevator against a Smoker and mobs. Nick may be a jerk, but he sure is a lovable jerk.
And then bill shows up in DBD which he was in that exact same position when he was in the trailer for Dead by daylight so now he's trapped in the entity's realm forever
I had a theory that everyone in DBD is dead and them putting bill In the game just boosted it. If you read the character bios they all seem pretty sketch, it would make sense that they all died and that's there hell and/or they're limbo or something.

I think the entity takes people right before they die and can keep them alive while in the realm, because the Oni, Spirit and Pig were dying right before they were taken and are shown to be alive while being taken.
It took me seeing a week old pinned comment to realise I wasn't looking at something from a decade ago. Always nice to see the nicer side of Nick come out a bit though.
Even if they ever did met up each other, but the thing is on The Sacrifice, The comic. When it happened was in a situation of desperation, their ammo low and so many infected/special infected and Tanks. I don't think it would end well still when the L4D2 Survivors even get there but also they were on the Hotel finding a rescue chopper, even if they arrived early. I just imagine if they did meet, try to help them. Someone will have to take the failed Generator and the situation was getting worse on the bridge, the L4D2 survivors have to take some route just to get to the other side of the bridge. As much as wanted for this, its really inevitable. Either the Original survivors get killed if they waited for the 2nd Survivors to get them as 3 tanks approach to the bridge, or Do what Bill have to do just to save the asses of the 1st Survivors. And the 2nd Survivors will be either be overrunned by Hordes and some tanks, and also SIs. The Classic survivors don't have time and momentum to refill their weapons and will have take some rests from the situation they were in. It's inevitable and will always be. Atleast Bill finally took a rest from the shit they had to go through and he wanted an Enemy to fight. And those are the Infected/Zombies.

For the few people who would not get it : Nick and Francis both share a shady past. Nick have some jewelry with a gang sign on it, this gang's logo can also be found on Francis's tats. That's why they're going from insults to "brother". And the "There's not many of us left" takes another dimension with this information.

There are mods that improve bots' actions.
It's a Sourcemod plugin called ScavengeBotsDS, I've been using it for a while now and it's pretty useful.
