Not only is Emulation perfect for preserving history, but it allows generations to experience games that they may not financially be able to. It also helped me get into retro gaming, some of my favorites of all time I experienced because of Emulation
True and I also went back and played a lot of titles I never got to experience as a child. Simply because my parents couldn't afford every game I wanted.
What's morally right matters more than what's legally right when these companies don't give us a proper way to play these older games. In my opinion anyway.
Welcome back bro and Happy New Year!!! Emulation is the best thing ever. Watching your videos is what introduced me to emulation and from 2020 to now, I still play games from PC emulators. Emulation= Saving money, preserving storage, nostalgia.I played many games recently that I haven't played as a kid from the 90s.
Happy New Year to you as well, and yea, I'm back even with my old name. Also, I'm glad I was of some help to getting everything evolving emulation setup on your PC. I'm also still finding and playing games I never got to play from the past. I love it.
Preserving videogame history is very important indeed, especially considering that big companies often don't really care about their older products and won't do anything unless they see some kind of financial opportunity. Btw right now I'm playing the og Demon's Souls on RPCS3 and it's great!
Hey Shandell, great video! I have been an emulation advocate for a long time now. I love playing games on Dolphin like Star Fox Assault, Super Smash Bros, and New Super Mario Bros. Wii. I recently started ripping the iso files from some of the Wii games I own physically, and boy oh boy, does it make a difference! It's so much better because I can actually mod the games and run the mods on my emulator instead of getting annoyed at WiiScrubber for not wanting to cooperate with me.
We have same opinion. Emulation allow me to experience the games which I didn't have a chance to play when i was a kid and replaying the old games with upscaling is hit different
It really does, and I would not know as much about retro games if it wasn't for emulators. My family couldn't afford every game I wanted when I was a kid, so going back and experiencing them is amazing.
Been into emulation ever since I was a kid when some of my old ps1 games started buggin out. Soft locking, graphical glitches, audio issues, etc. These games need to be preserved. 💯 and I am so glad we've gotten to the point where ps3 and 360 games are being thrown into the mix, cause god knows my ps3 on its last legs.
Emulation is what keeps my super Nintendo safe from anymore wear and tear that it already suffered much of back in the 90s. Extremely grateful for the emulation community and especially the libretro team. Getting the retail uwp retroarch for my xbox one has been by far the most amazing thing as of late. My xbox one is now an all in one console and it doesn't get much better than that!
Gotta respect the possibility to experience the fine era of early gaming. I had some really good games but some got broken or lost. Emulators are a blessing 🤘
The main reason why I love using emulators is to avoid having many consoles hooked up to the TV or switching between them. Ever since 2021, I started playing PS2, PS3, Wii, Gamecube, and more consoles on my PC to avoid the cluster of cables, I only take those consoles out when the game I want to play have issues on the emulator.
I appreciate what you have to say and the way you say it . I am following you I need so much help with emulation young bro I will be following you . Good job ❤
💯💯💯 I played this game called Vigilante 8 and Vigilante 8 2nd offense on my iPhone as Emulators they played surprisingly well their a PlayStation 1 games. Emulation is definitely needed. These newer games get ridiculous sometimes. So why not take a blast from the past 🎮🔥
I had that game for n64 I called it the twisted metal for Nintendo. I find older games to be a lot more fun then these new games. These developers need to get more creative these days.
Emulation is something that helps us experience Classics or Retro Games, as an Avid Gaming fan, emulation really helps us appreciate the legacy of games which getting a physical copy of a Console or a Games is expensive and some take advantage for it's nostalgia..
I remember I wanted to play games like Kingdom Hearts 2 so bad in my pc because I didn’t had ps2 back then. And few years later emulator like PCSX2 helped me to play them.😊
I don't emulate consoles but, it's great that preservation plays a big role in emulation. I'm 26 years old and I own a bunch of retro Consoles. I use emulation just to emulate arcade games only and I've played arcade games using MAME, FInal Burn Alpha, SEGA Model 2 arcade emulator, and etc. Because the reason why I only emulate arcade games is because they are really hard to find older cabinets and become extinct and also finding parts for an arcade board is something difficult to hunt.
Amen brother! Such a beautiful & brilliant video! This video was certainly made from the 💜 wow! Your content gets greater & greater I put that on God!!!! 💯👌😁
Playing emulated games with any controller I want is the main reason I love it. Not having to use the switch controller which is terrible imo is where it's at.
What i think is the most accessible way to play them is with RetroArch combined with Bliss Box along with the original controllers as i think we should. Because it makes no sense to play a GameCube game where it prompts you to press the Z button when your DualShock or Xbox 360 controller have no such button. Or confuse the GameCube's B button with Xbox's A button because it's bound on a more comfortable button. The control layouts are way too different to be played comfortably.
While I still buy games because I'll always prefer owing physical copies, emulation will be a backup when buying the game legally is not possible. For example there sellers who way overcharge for old games not because their good but because they're "collectibles" now or that the game physical copies were limited. Then there are cases when companies release remastered games but are poorly made, censored or horrible incompatible ports of the old og game. Also I really appreciate programers who translate non-English games and add additional features like saving.
Personally I do not want to dust up my console which may or may not be dead at this point. Plus playing the game I bought in HD is fantastic as if I play it for a fitst time as well.

Hey, have you seen the new Atari Jaguar emulator? It's called BigPEmu. It's pretty awesome. Better than Virtual Jaguar and Phoenix. 100% compatibility.
Absolutely agree. For the naysayers that claim I'm "stealing from the developers", well, I had purchased a large majority of the games back in the day that I currently play, so they got their moneys worth. Especially when we were paying $60+ a game, even in the '90's. Due to inflation, I had to sell all the consoles and games for a fraction of their retail value just to get by. Much respect to the people that work their butts off in order to help keep these old titles relevant. Without the old school, you wouldn't have the new school.
I'm sorry to hear you had to sell your collection and hope things are OK with you. But yea, gaming was expensive back then and still is today. That's why I appreciate emulators that have allowed me to experience games I couldn't afford.
@@UrCasualGamer Yes'sir, paying almost $90 for certain 16 bit titles like Phantasy Star 4 in the early '90s was completely unreasonable for the average Joe. Especially when we didn't have the interwebs to check out game reviews before purchasing a game.

That's why ever emulator developer doesn't distribute games or the BIOS files of most systems. How you get these copyrighted files is up to you. But the emulators themselves are perfectly legal.

Just hope Mario doesn't knock on your door for downloading a game Nintendo never re-released or didn't buy for the 100th time. Other companies don't seem care half as much, as long you aren't selling the games. Though I never heard of Namco and Kos-Mos knocking on doors.
They don't care, just Nintendo. Nintendo has even requested me to take down two of my emulator setup videos because I showed a mario game in them. That's why I never play an exclusive on camera anymore.
@@UrCasualGamer The sad part is they do a bad job at preserving games. I said MANY TIMES before that if they added the Gamecube to the Switch, I would have little need for Dolphin. Only to play something like Metal Arms or SSX3. Was holding out for a re-release of Windwaker but don't care about it now. I'm fine with Dolphin.
I honestly think that the argument about emulation encouraging piracy is invalid. Almost 90% of the emulation scene today is for titles and consoles which are not sold anymore by their copyright owners. If the original IP owner is not interested in providing access to it to the public then why is the pubic at fault for preserving it themselves? There are tons of lost abandon ware today: Gems of years of human work in coding, art, music and intellect lost to time because of a stupid monopoly on intellectual property. If the copyright owner is interested in preserving their IP then they should allow the public to purchase it in a form that fits the modern day and age. Otherwise it becomes the public's responsibility to preserve the history of video game industry.
Being against all emulation is dumb. The vast majority of classic games available on modern hardware are emulated. The real issue is the conversation regarding the availability of ROMs. A company which makes no effort to ensure old titles are available in a legitimate way, has no moral right to get upset when people set up ROM downloading sites.
Since I'm not a huge fan of modern gaming, I stick with emulators to relive some of the classic games I have played when I was a kid and some of the games that I haven't played that I want to experience. Because of emulators, I get a chance to play WWF No Mercy & Conkers Bad Fur Day & also I got a chance to experience Sega Genesis & SNES games for the first time. Also, I'm not really impressed with modern gaming as a whole compare to the era of N64, Gamecube, PS1, PS2, PSP Dreamcast, GBA etc.. Today's games are overhyped, overpriced, overrated & under-developed. PS: Just my humble opinion only. 😊
I did say in the video you guys are gonna do what you want anyways right. So for the ones who don't care yes I recommend vimm so at least you won't get a virus in the process.
2:12 lol could've just said you can emulate on your phone/tablet let alone bluetooth tech helps as well as fan translations/romhacks (modding 2:55 I suppose kinda counts, though ff pixel remaster fonts would be great to state). Delistedgames website would've been a nice reference (owns 2:39 "harm" given we're due for a crash with rapid sales, untested games, "collections" that omit games like megaman x command mission/megaman battle network wonderswan/gamecube, and increases to $70 games). 4:11 feels like a backpedal to the video, don't emulate/not emulate but be legitimate when the roms are "illegal" anyway.
There should not be the need for emulation hardware. Why? A gaming console is mainly a handicapped PC… This implies that a full operational pc has the universal language to make all games from all eras be enjoyable. The problem comes from corporations what aim to lock down and control the fate of society… You see, we just want to have fun, we do not care about the corporate bullshit and lawyers and all that useless junk a market driven society imposed in those who seek only to play a stupid video game. The problem is not with emulation but the challenges that market driven society imposes in players and creators… When you are out to change the world the idea that it has to be made on a profit is a corrupt idea. As we can see, have accepted that all that is worth doing must be made based on profits… The world is sick and dying and it is all because we surrender our fate to these corporations who have never had the best interest of society but to oppress and control how you spend your time and what you do with the limited money they allow you to have.

I got Duckstation and PCSX2. But a lot of people telling me “you need to own a PS1 console to get dump bios” “you need to own a PS2 console to get bios” I have PS2 (I can try to dump it) but not 1. How can I get Bios.
No, you don't need to dump it. There are sites that have them, and if you can't find one, write me on IG, and I'll send you links.
@@UrCasualGamer I can dm you on ur Instagram ?
While it’s not required, I recommend dumping your own simply to be familiar with the original hardware and the software released by devs.
@@zeroturn7091 but i don’t have a PS1 console.
can you tell us safe site to download switch emulator games
Write me on IG
Nintendo is the main company that be tripping lol who has the time and money to find and buy all those classic games? Definitely not me.
Agreed
I want to play tekken 7 in pc but idk how to ?
Buy it on steam because the ps4 emulator isn't there yet.
It may be illegal, but is it moral?
like I said people are gonna do it anyways including me. FACTS
Is emulation the same as playing the original
Way better in my opinion.
I guess this video was made because of the Aethersx2 shut down
No
Being against all emulation is dumb.
Didn't you recommend vimms. Is that illegal?
I did say in the video you guys are gonna do what you want anyways right. So for the ones who don't care yes I recommend vimm so at least you won't get a virus in the process.
It's always been a tricky line. Different countries also have different IP laws. Switzerland wins. 🤣
New sub and love the straight to the point guide to emulation so much gaming wow for free🐐🫶🏾🔥
