Is GODZILLA the FIRST of His KIND? Godzilla's ORIGINS - GODZILLA x KONG: THE NEW EMPIRE...

- Is Godzilla the first of his species? It's been almost a decade since the Monsterverse kicked off, and we've only gotten glimpses into Godzilla's backstory. Seems like he's been around for all the big moments, right? On the flip side, Kong's history is way more fleshed out-we even saw his parents meet their demise. But when it comes to Godzilla, it's like, "Hey, he roams and fights." Dude's got a whole bunch of rivals, but we don't even know if he had parents! I'm itching for a comic that delves into his origins and survival skills. So, was Godzilla the OG of his species? My take? Nah, he's probably on the younger side. Like Kong, he's still growing and figuring stuff out. Dagon, on the other hand, was probably the real old-timer. During the Titan War, Godzilla supposedly pushed Kong's family up to Skull Island, which is like a young gun making a seasoned vet retreat. Plus, that skull in Kong's throne room? If it belonged to a Godzilla species, it would be the oldest creature we've seen. So, short answer: Nope, this Godzilla isn't the granddaddy of them all. He's just the oldest "living" one-until proven otherwise.

Actually that doesn’t prove that. It proves he wasn’t the ONLY one of his kind. Godzilla easily could still be the oldest and only known survivor. He also may have just shed that skin at one point.
Godzilla isn't the first of his kind, But he is as far as we know, the last of his kind.

Titannis Doug may be the best bet as of now
In first Godzilla movie 2014, the director described him as an ancient warrior who is the last of his kind, and now is alone, and prefers that way. If you watch the first meeting between Ghidora and Godzilla in the second movie you’ll notice Godzilla Cautiously looking him over recognizing that possibility there was a prior encounter ….insinuating that a prior alpha of Godzilla’s bloodline or he himself battled before.
It was Godzilla himself that battled Ghidorah.
Godzilla battled ghidorah.
Bro did you watch the movie because they basically explained it.
Insinuating implies rude. You meant to say implying
That wouldn't imply a different Gojira fought Ghidorah. How would Godzilla have the memories of a different person?

No one knows how old he is. I think the first movie? Said he was 250 million, then one of the graphic novels say the same thing and then another graphic novel says he's like a few million years old or a few hundred thousand. I really don't think these writers themselves know what is canon or even know how to actually write something. Kinda like how they teased the Mothra egg in Godzilla vs Kong that Monarch should have by now but then in the new movie they throw that out the window and Mothra is resurrected in a completely different way with some random prophecy that wasn't really explained and by Jia, a Iwi member from Skull Island.....never really explained why it had to be one from Skull Island specifically......so yeah.....the lore is all over the place and I don't think they really care as long as money pours into their pockets.
Godzilla is the only member of his species. Recently if y’all didn’t know, toho had legendary retcon Gojiras being a whole species, which lines up with Dagon being referred to as a “Godzilla like creature” in aftershock.
Yeah where did you hear this
Where did you get this information because it doesn't add up because if Godzilla Is the only member of his species then why did the mutos have abilities to kill godzilla. Or why is Kong axe is a gojira dorsal
In Godzilla 2014 we saw the bones of a dead Godzilla, so he is or was not the only one.
@@cymonluiscatacutan3837 well if a company says it isn’t canon after it being canon for so long, it obviously won’t make sense in universe
Isn't Doug part of the Godzilla species so he isn't the last of his kind either.
It easier to say that Gojira is a mutant of his species, he can evolve while other members of his species dies out either from war with the apes or being eaten by mutos.
Yeah, so in next movie the producers are going to acknowledge it by putting a big ass x symbol on his chess
Nope, he just happened to outlived them. Other titans like Scylla, Tiamat, etc did evolve aswell so... His friends just died bcuz of radiation hunger or got killed. Just remember that although they're strong, they still can be killed like the one time oxygen destroyer almost killed him.

Yeah true
Yes. Kong is still very young for a titan.
I'd like to see Monsterverse tackle the Rhedosaurus story, making him the ancestor of Godzilla's species. A subtle nod to The Beast from 20.000 Fathoms predated and inspired the creation of Godzilla.
There are 3 proofs that I got from several movies that Godzilla is not the only species that ever existed, in fact he is the youngest of his species. first in the movie godzilla 2014, dr serizawa and his team have found a huge bone under the ground in the philippines, which he definitely says the bone belongs to godzilla but the older one. secondly in the Godzilla vs Kong movie, we know the axe used by Kong belongs to another Godzilla and at the same time when Kong found the axe it was lying among the bones of another Godzilla in addition to the bones of the other species of Kong., sorry for my bad English
Remember "Dagon" in the Philippines
From Godzilla 2014?
Honestly if another Godzilla would appear in the monsterverse I have a feeling all hell would break loose 😂😂😂😂
Rip Dagon he was just a chunky boy😢
Kongs "axe" is the proof that godzilla has more of his kind and theres another godzilla named dagon it was a younger version of godzill it fight the muto prime but he lose and he became the incubator of the 2 muto we saw in 2014
He might have been the Oppenheimer of the godzillas

He may not be the first one, but he is the first to reach new levels of power.
Dagon was basically what Godzilla was in 2014 and that was a long time before 2014 so I'd say the cave paintings of Godzilla fighting gihdorah were actually either dagon or another member of Godzillas species possibly his father because dagon was also not fully grown
Godzilla DIDNT used to be the last of his kind according to 2014 in this year there was another godzilla named dagon but he was killed my prime mutos and they laid eggs in him so that probably why godzilla was really eager to kill the mutos🗿
Godzilla couldn't care less about a single specimen of his kind, he was just trying to protect the balance
What if the star he ate gave him more life than the others or sum shi
"Does Godzilla has parents?" OFC HE DOES HOW DID HE EXISTED IF HE DOESNT
Dagon is acually older than godzilla
His remains are older, but with all the slight retcons and Toho saying stop mentioning Godzilla as a species that may have changed. Currently it's unknown. All that is known is that they are related and his remains were originally supposed to be older than the current Godzilla, but there's contradictions with that due to new lore being added in each movie and novel.
And people get mad lmao like this isn't the comics bro 😭🤬 😂
Bro the comics are cannon the the movies and absolutely nothing is changed
Ahh one of those fans that try hard to make comics irrelevant. Mofo these movies built the comics. Y'all got a serious grudge with comics. 😂
Probably not, but this is a neat notion. After what we've been shown in GxK, we've really cemented Goji as this "Peaceful by nature, Violent when called" deity. Considering that the only thing to insinuate the existence of others is Kongs Axe, it is possible that's just an old spine of Godzillas. This fits especially since it has a more jagged design like his spines from the 2014 movie.
If you read one Godzilla comic you’ll hear about Dagon (another Godzilla)
Remember the very old Godzilla movies and I think the baby Godzilla is the present godzille
My headcannon for goji is that his parents died to Muto prime and then his other family died in the titan war
I swear this guy has the best names for the Godzilla monsters atomic iguana blizzard lizard the best
Well if you remember the first Godzilla movie it was a T-Rex that got mutated into what it is now due to radiation
There was a time in monsterverse we have more godzilla, but there is rumor in reddit say toho dont want that, they want this godzilla to be special and dont have species, thats way they change the great titan war story in GxK, they dont say godzilla in plural again when they explain the war, it sad but you can check it out in the movie 😢
No. Dagon was much younger than godzilla, actually. Allow me to explain,
Dagon was smaller and also has 2014s dorsal plates. We see this in the ancient paintings of dagon fighting muto prime. Goji Center also did a video on this topic.
Yeah man. Dagon was just a teen that's why he couldn't beat MUTO prime. Meanwhile big G is described as "ancient seasoned warrior". Also he's been arround since the Permian which means he's abt 252m years old.
Godzilla according to Toho doesnt 'have' a kind. Godzilla is an enigma, a force of nature, powerful and unknowable. Legendary arent beyond retconning things, i mean kong used to be smaller than Suko (and we saw his parents skeletons so that WAS his max size) but then they wanted the monkey to be able to fight Godzilla so... So perhaps Legendary can do the right thing and drop all this species thing for Godzilla, make Dagon a relative of Doug and the skeleton near the Mutos just something else entirely. Godzilla doesnt need a family, he has Mothra.
We know he is isn’t the first of his kind because in Godzilla 2014 we see at the start that he has a mother.
Shimo was originally gonna be an albino Godzilla but they changed her design
We need a story about Godzilla's origins. I made a idea.
Godzilla: Forgotten Heritage.
A comic that focus more on Godzilla's past. It tells us about his younger life like in the Cretaceous or The Great Titan War and MUTO plague. Comic taking place in a cave Godzilla sees cave paintings of him, his relatives, friends and ancestors and he remembers a nostalgic flashback about his past.
We need this comic.

In the first Godzilla movie he had a mom and siblings but they got bombed but Godzilla was the last living of his kind from that movie
Dagon was a Gojira but he wasn’t older than Godzilla as he has been stated to be younger than Godzilla I believe

Dagon is younger that Godzilla
Isn't Dagon Godzilla's father?
No, he was a teen /pre-teen when the great titan war took place. There were multiple other Godzilla's including his parents
A clutch of Goji probably sounds like a nest crocodile babies. But scaled way up.
Kong's axe belonged to his dad(Kratos).
Gidhora killed Godzilla's mom(doe) and all the Godzilla's species when Godzilla was a baby. But Godzilla's dad(Dagon) defeated Ghidora by freezing him. In Godzilla King of the monsters, we see that Ghidora was frozen. But the Muto Prime killed Dagon when Godzilla was Kong's age. And While Kratos was mourning for the loss of Dagon, he met Godzilla(kong's age). Godzilla managed to kill Muto Prime. Kratos and Dagon were best friends, now their sons are best friends.
Dagon isn't Godzillas father. At least a lot of people say it using arguements. And i would'nt call Godzilla and Kong best friends. Where do you have this informations about Kratos and Dagon being godzillas dad from?
