  • This is my Guyton RS Transporter guitar by Guyton Guitars finished in metallic purple (serial number 0817154). Brian uses his Empire Red version (serial number 0117141) as his pre-concert warm-up guitar. It replaced his Guyton Red Special with a scalloped fretboard.
    Guyton Guitars serial numbers start with the month and year the guitar was completed; the final three numbers are the unique incremental number of the instrument. So Brian's red RS Transporter was completed in January 2017 and is the 141st guitar that Andy Guyton made. Mine was completed in August 2017 and is guitar number 154.
    Guyton Red Special Transporters are limited to a production run of 25 instruments (not including Brian's personal instrument) and are supplied with a custom carbon fiber Hoffee case.

    The solo from the "crazy little thing called love" was played on the Telecaster))

      That's a well known fact, thanks for highlighting it. Brian has stated that when it was suggested he play a Stratocaster or Telecaster in the studio, he explained that he could emulate that tone with particular switch settings on his Red Special guitar but went with the flow and used a Fender guitar. 👍🏻😀

    Isn’t that model officially referred to as the Transporter guitar by Andrew himself?

      Its official name is the Guyton RS Transporter with RS denoting Red Special. Check it out here:

    I would prefer the RS headstock and the original tailpiece/bridge assembly, honestly.

    • @dsgb
      @dsgb  Před 9 měsíci +2

      That would be difficult to accommodate within the form factor of a transportable Red Special. The case of this fits in the overhead locker of an aircraft cabin and is easy to carry around. Hence why Brian switched from the scalloped fretboard Guyton to an RS Transporter as his warm up guitar.

      @@dsgbyour point is well taken. I guess it would need it's own ticket too, or a crew that would allow one to use the closet.

      Yes. Honestly, the guitar's designer, Martin Pitcher (@maxxeleven) was doing a lot of air travel thus he wanted a travel guitar with a smaller form factor but all the functionality of a full size Red Special.
      I took mine to the first US enthusiast meet in Arizona in March 2020. I was apprehensive and fully insured it against loss but I did not encounter any challenges or difficulties on any flight leg or at customs. 👍🏻😀

    Ive Got a hohner headless guitar, i never play it because those double ball end strings are just too expensive

    • @dsgb
      @dsgb  Před 6 měsíci +2

      That's a shame. The Guyton RS Transporter uses regular strings. The ball end mounts into the Steinberger XS tremolo unit and the cut end is clamped using grub screws in the machined metal part beyond the nut.

    suck guitar! what tremolo is on the guitar?

    • @dsgb
      @dsgb  Před rokem +11

      I trust you meant "sick guitar", not "suck guitar"! 👍🏻😀 It is a JCustom XS tremolo bridge similar to the unit used on Steinberger headless guitars.

      @@dsgb yeah i meant sick 🤦‍♂️, but thank you so much! hoping to do mine own build of this guitar!
