The fact that the bride was totally fine with her mom planning and her mom doing the MOST for her daughter. Not that itâs the money thatâs love but itâs the EFFORT she put in and TIME and THOUGHT. Now thatâs parenting
Not really great parenting to give your child so much and teach that total indulgence is to be expected. What if her new life includes hardship and privation at times, will she know how to cope?
@@louiseclarkashburn6664 she was studying for exam. Priorities sir!
I studies for exams while raising a child, doing a clinical internship, and doing household chores as usual. Thatâs not the point I was making. It is their money and the choice as to how they spend it is theirs. I just think spending so lavishly gives both bride and groom an unrealistic view of life. That is such a hard act to follow.
@@louiseclarkashburn6664 Good for you! But let's be honest... Her mother spent 15000$ on invitations... What kind of "hardship" you imagine her to have in future? She will have staff for everything. Instead of being a rich useless trash she is focusing on creating her own identity, which is a good thing.
I see daughters fighting in this same show about the dress their mother chooses. Meanwhile she had a whole wedding planned out by her mother but she didn't say that "it's too tacky" or "I don't like the color of the napkin guests are wiping their mouths with".
Being an Indian all I can say is that that's in the culture. We see emotions behind the things, we don't like to hurt our parents and we take care of them even when they are old. Even when they re bedridden, that's what good kids here are supposed to do (and I am proud of it). I don't know about her, but I have many dresses my mom bought for me that I don't like much, but I still wear them just because I want to see her smile everytime I wear them. I think the person is talking about that kind of "parenting".
No thats their culture lolz kids milking parents till they die and parents loving to be in control till then:p

As an Indian, I feel sometimes families pay way too much attention on organizing the perfect party for the guests but dont really spend time with the brides when they need it the most. Weddings turn into an event showcasing their wealth
Agree...even woke foreigners fail to see that and have a problem when certain indians either want to deviate from their tradition or when they just want to be simple in their weddings
I agree with you that some people want to showcase their wealth. But some people just have a big budget and they want to have fun. Like Indian weddings are fun and rich families like to have fun their way.
Exactly because many back in India was in a low caste in the west they had the opportunity to make something of themselves and make the money they couldn't back home. It's a chance for even the low caste to play royals because they can pay royaly they can show off how their kids are Doctors or in business etc. They could go back to India with western money and get the best for cheap sometimes đđ.

I grew up around this more or less and actually got to perform a little dance at one when I was a little girl . I was invited to my neighbors wedding because I knew how to dance( loved bollywood movies as a child still do) little do people realize African weddings are very similar as far as opulence and wanting to show the grand display of wealth and in both cultures BLACK&BROWN PEOPLE LOVE TO PARTY AND DANCE ALL NIGHT .

When this culture gets married, I've heard they celebrate sometimes for a week. Amazing and beautiful.
Yeah we do, it's one of the most fun things ever (although a little tiring for the bride and groom) the guests have the time of their lives!
Lately a week is normal! But earlier, sometimes it could even take around 3 weeks to a month! We have many traditions and ceremonies, each differ with from where ur from and ur family, but there are a few that are more famous. Itâs lots of fun, itâs basically a festival. New clothes get made or bought, the best food EVER (sometimes itâs a show off competition, which isnât the best thing) but there are places in India where it is done very very low-key. Some people are starting to do smaller weddings as well, but usually as a compromise the reception has tons of people (ofc this differs from person to person, family to family, state to state, and everything). It's not about wealth. Indians do usually spend a lot on weddings regardless of the financial status. It's the second most expensive things people do after a house. Usually rich people weddings cost more than a house. At my uncles wedding we had atleast 500 to 1000 guest and we ain't even that rich
Indian weddings are so beautiful!!

My sister got married at the boathouse in Central Park and we did have my brother in law on the horse. Pretty sure there was no permit đ€đ€
Lovely and so interesting. I have been to a few Hindu weddings, living in Durban, South Africa, which has a very big Indian community, the biggest outside of India. The horse is so majestic and was so beautifully decorated and obviously trained for all the noise around it.
It's still animal cruelty. Horses are not here to have a human on their backs
Ok so the invitations shown are pretty common in Indian weddings it was just the fact that outside India they were so expensive which shocked me. Also absolutely love the theme of the wedding and it was pretty awesome for them to even keep the horse
Egads. That is quite a show. My favorite part was the dance the bride choreographed for her husband-to-be. That was a deeply personal, sweet touch. Congratulations to them both.
It is lovely to have a ceremony thoughtfully put together. However, the excesses make me sad. I think a nice meal with friends and family at a nice venue is fine. No one cares about so many center pieces, flowers and a horse and a yacht. Their excess show of wealth saddens me. Give to the poor if you have so much.

Beautiful wedding. On the one hand, it's fun seeing the luxury that such vast wealth can give one, and on the other, it's infuriating when so many are struggling.
Most Indian families save for their daughter's wedding from the day she's born. The entire family also contributes. But it's a huge deal.
I mean I don't think no one should be angry because someone have more then them. We shouldn't be jealous of what other people have. That's not beneficial to you at all. And if people would truly work together in this world, and help one another. Instead of putting people down. We could all have more then enough. But most people tend to be very selfish. Especially here in America.
Their money and how they choose to spend it is really nobody else's business. Indian Americans have become the overall wealthiest ethnic group in America despite the hardships they face because so many of them work extraordinarily hard in school, make smart choices, and thus earn high-paying jobs.
I think it's just a personal preference.
when rich people spend money the economy thrives. Think of the number of jobs this wedding created, the number of small vendors who would have benefitted. This type of spending is good. Also, knowing that they're Indians and therefore immigrants I'm sure that money was hard earned.
