Not all pumpouts have macerators, some are just dump through. It's also more usual, in my experience, to take the boat to a pumpout station although there are boats and land based operators that will come to you. Plumbed-in is very handy!
Talking about pumping out toilets whilst eating. I guess that living on boats gives you a strong stomach for such things... Also, I suspect the most important thing is don't, whatever you do, drop the cap of the holding tank in the canal...
When you finish your first pump you then fill with clean water and pump again to clean your tank , I do ours about four times to make sure it is clean , if you just pump once half of your nice sludge is still on the bottom of your tank nice ...
@@brain8484 because when you pour the waste out obviously that is still some in the tank so even if you're an eco-warrior you need to rinse the tank at least once although twice would be even better as you will be sure it is nice and clean it before you put it back also if you never clean it properly it will stink to high heavens you might enjoy that but I certainly wouldn't
hi all good vid can u explain i thought the end u stick in the hole would be longer so as to touch the bottom of the tank? of is there a pipe in the entrance to the tank that goes to lowest point in tank ? if not the suction must be awfull powerful colin
have you considered fitting a waste tank level gauge rather than relying on guesswork?my choice after looking at the options is cassette but you will always have pros and cons to each type.looks like everything going well for you.your cat looks a mischievous onemy cat is 16 and she can be still demanding from time to time.
paul l it's kind of nice to be aware of how much you're using of everything and as long as you do it more often than you need to, you shouldn't run into any problems. Yes, he's a very cheeky kitty
Well that's not to far off sorting the plumbing after the kids have gone mad with the loo roll! Whats the cap next to the pump out cap? Unfortunate that the weather was fairly nice ... better luck next time 😂
Matt Allen it's a rinse. You can run water in there to help the poop along and make sure you've got it all out. When there's no more brown, you're done
v good vlog, i thort everything would be sealed of etc if you know what i mean, wasnt expecting to see, a few umh drops of waste here and there so to speak lol. you show it how it is though well done, think if i ever get a boat would prefer a cassette loo, do you not have a gauge in a caravan the cassette loo has one and it goes on red when its getting full x
tracy fun our suction isn't great, so that may be a factor with the spillage, but it's just a messy job even when it's clean. There's no warning light, only a full light, so you get to know when to do it in other ways
have you got twin tanks on yours. mine has i have 2 loo,s (on a boat with 1 person lo} bit of a waste (no pun intended) there conected so i have to do both. at £15 each but this lasts me 3 months (depends on how many curries) .. i also do it easy way get some other idi*** (person to do it). i have also hung one of my fenders so when the bottom touches water time to empty.
Definitely helpful and clear , I try to avoid pump out loo after watching this video thanks for the information
You really should wear gloves!!
Very true! The more you do it, the less mess you make though. Until you try to film it!
We do ours about every 6 weeks and I'm a bit anal regarding gloves etc! Think it's working in a hospital
What flavour ice cream do you have with you bananas.

Thank you! This was a huge help. xx

whats the point of cleaning the tank ? and its a waste of water .

That helped me a lot thanks x
I like your sense of humour , looks like a nice pram cover though.
Peter Rutter thanks x
I will be buying a boat later in the year so doing lots of research. May be doing CC and winter in a marina river street and the lee.
Might want to invest in a box of disposable gloves.....
Was thinking the same thing 😂😂
Thanks for explaining about toilets - I decided to make a compilation (haha?) of the vids. Your cat here is peak photo-bomb
Thank you, I'm thinking of buying a narrow boat. Would you recommend it?

metal dectecting cornwall yes the suction is very strong and if you get a good seal between pipe and you create a vacuum which just sucks it all up
Do you have any access to the tank if there is a blockage due to hardened and compacted loo roll?
digitalsketchguy yes, the tank is under the bed
did you get to the bottom of the mysterious water leak problem?if so what did it turn out to be?have funpaul

Marvellous....
Can one hire someone to do this, seeing the shitty liquid had me gagging and you touched it. gagging :)
Hi, I love your videos, may I make a request, when you record them, could you increase the record volume a little bit? Thank you. Warm regards. D/P
DisabledPrepper I'll try, but I don't have a separate microphone. I'm getting a bit more used to editing so hopefully newer videos sound better
Don't forget the optional peg.....for your nose....

everything in this video looked like it was smeared with poo , there were brown stains everywhere even on the electrical switches .
Strange topic while eating
Good video but sound is very quiet

ah ha yep vacuum
Why not just wear pampers and avoid all that faffing about with toilet cassettes or pumping out the holding tank?!
why do you need wet weather to pump out your toilet?
Sam Sitar I think it's a bit of sarcasm 😊
Oh dear....
WHY ARENT YOU. WEARING. GLOVES. AND FACEMASK.
You like saying poo
Bro did you really have to say poo everytime
