Trump almost looked like he felt empathy for Joe when he was struggling before remembering that it was time to go in for the kill each time. Like holy crap every time I see the debate clips it gets worse somehow.

At 80 years old, traveling around the globe twice in, I don't know, the last couple of months requires a tremendous amount of self care and sleep. He said it himself. He pushed himself too much. I believe President Biden is a decent, practical, and extremely productive president. His record as president speaks for itself. He's not without fault, but he's still one of the best presidents we've had. All the Party has to do is be more mindful of time and scheduling. They need to schedule time every day when he can nap. I'm pretty well informed and Biden is the worst president we have had since Carter. But what is worse then Biden is the non-elected person that is president. Because it is obvious to anyone with a brain that for large portions of the day and night He is not in control of anything. It is dangerous and embarrassing and we cannot ignore it.

Sure, but that's the best option. Yes, I agree Biden's chance of winning is less than 5% at this point. But at the same time, anyone else on the democratic side has even LESS chance of winning. Yes, Biden should not have run, and democratic party should have done their best to convince him not to, but it's too late now. You force Biden out and bring someone else, and you GUARANTEE a loss even if that person does and says all the right things. But if Biden, by some miracle, manages to pretend to be alive for the next few months, doubles his chances of winning to a glorious 10%.
Realistically, of course, it's over. All the hopes of democrats throwing teflon Don in jail have fizzed out. Trump is now a martyr. Democrats have shown themselves to be losers, and republicans are on a winning streak. Housing crisis, immigration crisis, opioid crisis, the illusion of rise in crime, homelessness, inflation, occupation of Gaza, the money sink of Ukraine... etc still continue to cause people, especially in key demographics of blacks, muslims, underprivileged, to leave democrats in droves. It can be argued that the only fumble republicans made was in abortion, but let's face it, any woman who already voted for "grab 'em by the p" Trump is not going to switch camps because of it, if anything, he gained the sincere religious base which might have been on the fence before - it just made those religious individuals who were apprehensive about his character to see that the ends justify the means. This will be a landslide win for Trump.
The real question is, how the democratic politicians and the democratic voters will respond after that.

My mother in law has dementia. I could see it creeping in years ago and now she is ‘having bad days’. Her daughter is totally in denial. Dementia is insidious. There are always alternative explanations for the symptoms if you want to put your head in the sand. She is depressed, her depression meds are the cause, she has ADHD, she is angry with her husband. Last week she insisted my father and mother had just died when dad died 33 years again and she never met him.
The debate was the point where we stopped being able to deny reality.

What is happening in our country is truly sad, but I must reluctantly agree with Ana. Mr. Biden has had a full and productive career as a public servant for half a century, but it is time to retire. The media has given Mr. Biden the benefit of doubt regarding his health for a number of years now, but that has come to an end after the debacle of the debate last week.
At this point he's not a good candidate. He's not fast enough on the draw to defend his record and attack his opponent. That debate performance was the result of an entire week of preparation. I think I could have don't a better job than him if I debated Trump without any preparation at all. . I'm not trying to put Biden down. I'm two decades younger than him.

All he did was speak hideously at what he probably thinks everyone says about him. Why else would he require everyone to sign an oath of loyalty before drinking their final cup of Orange Koolaid. Biden may not be quick in his response, but his plans are well thought out. He’s been a civil and public servant since he first put on a uniform to protect our freedoms. He’s still fighting that fight against a convicted fraud, rapist, and 34 count felon. Trump was probably happy when he was convicted because the dunderhead thought they said phallus instead of felons.
So we should give Joe Biden a pass because his son was recently convicted and also because of jet lag from a flight 11 days before. What about Trump who is waiting on sentencing for 34 counts plus facing 50 plus more and has to pay over 500 million in civil penalties.
I thought the best idea was for Biden to bow out around last Christmas and let the young kids take on the fight and finish out his term as the respected elder statesman supporting them. That would have been strong.
I do feel sorry for Ana’s husband. He’s living in a minefield.
