My body held on to the weight while I was breastfeeding. I gained like 85lbs in my pregnancy (!!) And it took until my son weaned at 2.5 for it all to come off. In the first year I lost pretty much no weight, then I worked my backside off in his second year, and it was slow. The whole breastfeeding makes you skinny thing wasn't true for me!
I am breastfeeding my 3rd now and have gained and lost 50 lbs wach pregnancy. So here i am losing 50 lbs for a 3rd time. I do think breastfeeding helps but at the end of the day its calories/energy in and energy out. MOST people do not need to purposly eat and extra 500 calories due to breastfeeding because they already overeat. Tracking what I ate has given me an awareness of how many "empty" calores I was eating. I jave been shooting for more protein.
I only breastfed for 3 months and it never seemed like I was producing enough, and I was overeating, so I have no good input on why I kept on the weight lol
Just curious if age has anything to do with weight loss progress? After having my son in 2020 I was able to lose all of my baby weight plus a little extra. I was 30/31 at that time. I want to start trying for baby #2 next year, but I’ll be 33 next month. This probably means I’ll be 34/35 depending on when I conceive. Would my older age make it harder to lose weight? Also, do you mind giving the name of the nutrition program you joined?
That’s a great question! I have no idea but in my experience it was harder for me to lose weight the second time around and I was also 31 when I had my daughter and 34 when I had my son. The program I did was run by a nutrition coach and you can check her out on Instagram! Here’s her handle instagram.com/fuel2train_nicole?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

Also, I have been doing regular eggs with some egg whites added in scrambled. And I can't tell really. But I would never just do egg whites.
I think you’re right about breastfeeding and overeating. Tracking was really helpful for me as well
Congratulations on your progress, I am 3 months postpartum and down 40 pounds 😊
That’s awesome! 💪🏼
Did you do the Mommy tummy fix workouts only or the diet as well?
I did the workouts only but I did read about the diet and their tips and tried a couple of their meals.

Breastfeeding is a great big mystery to me!
