The first guide to metal detecting film was a success and it was heart-warming to see a lot of people asking for the second part!
please note their will be a part 3 coming in april.
many thanks for watching! - Zábava
Thanks Graham, I am a bit of a newbie at this detectoring, some very good tips, as well as being informative🕳
Thank you john
Excellent videos and advice. Thank you. I’m a newbie with a Nox 800, I’ve joined a couple of local clubs and buddied up with a couple of people so I’m hoping to get out and remember all your tips and tricks! Happy digging!
Good luck and thanks for watching 👍👍
Thank you very much for the advice I found it very helpful thank you graham
Thank you for watching sir, feel free to subscribe to the channel as you will enjoy it
Hi Graham you said in your video that you sell some products related to meta detecting have you got a link please thank you

Great advice Graham. Low and Slow.
Its the best way John, thanks for watching sir
So down to earth. Great video m8
Thank you 👍 😊
Thank you Graeme for doing these video’s. I have just got my first metal detector and am building up my kit, ready for my first attempt. Great information for a starter like me. I live in Euxton Chorley Lancashire and some lovely looking fields/woods near me 😃
thanks for the comment gary, remember here at unearthed we will serve you well for all your detecting gear too being northern based!
Loving the info in these videos. Retiring in 12 months. Plenty of time for outdoor hobbies 👌🏼
excellent info pal! It's something I'm intending on giving a go as I have a mate who does it largely on his own and a cousin who does it in Wales. I'm sure that in taking note of your helpful tips and them showing me the ropes, I'll be well on my way, so cheers
Thanks chris!
You are quite right Graeme, I was on a dig last Saturday and when I was eating my lunch I was watching other members from the shelter of my car, I was amazed by how many of them walk around swinging their coils 5 to 6 inches above the ground at a walking speed more suitable for trying to catch a bus.
Keep up the good work.
Its a difficult task changing the mindset of people as they are comfortable in searching that way but they would find a lot more by lowering the search coil a little and slowing down
@@unearthed-detecting-tv when I started detecting several years back I purchased a XP Deus, I was lucky enough to get a 3 hour lesson in detecting from Gary Blackwell, the emphasis was on scrubbing the grass slowly and overlapping your coil sweeps. His simple advice has always worked for me.
Hello Graeme,
I've been detecting since the beginning of October. Just found the channel. I watched part 1and now 2. Brilliant. Really informative and full of advice. Thank you.
Many thanks mick, please feel free to subscribe to the channel if you can sir
I thought I had done. Will remedy that right now 👍
Just checked and I'm subscribed.
@@mollyskye90 very kind of you mick.
Very informative
Thank you sam
That tool is a great way forward and we all have hit a good target and makes more sense as most people don't think before digging and me I prefer wide holdes for deep targets and small her holes for small targets or any target that sounds iffy and always double check my pin pointing before digging and mostly use me hands so to damage stuff as hand are better than tools
Well done matt
Yeah I'm quick when swing and walking most days but I only do that at first just to get the obvious out the way the start just taking long swings slowly with nearly full length and cover as much as possible as my mate does as you describe and always criticising my swing when I literally had my extension break so I can understand why it seems cheeky to say
The key is to find the happy medium, Ive seen some people detect like trains but still find things, its getting to that comfortable zone where you are doing everything right! Keep at it matt
Hi Graeme , wise words indeed my friend and the 2 key points for me are maintaining a good working relationship with the land owner and don't leave a mess because they ( WILL ) check after you have gone , good video my friend enjoyed it ATB Rob 👍
Many thanks for watching robbie and hope you are ok mate
Great follow up to part 1 , great advice again Graeme and well delivered certainly worth taking note. Look forward to the next one and hope to see you and the team soon. 👍👍
Thanks for watching steve
Hi Graeme, enjoying the series so far, I’m just starting my new hobby, so getting a lot from them.
Many thanks for your time and effort 👍🏻
Very kind words paul, glad they are of assistance
I’ve found that the landowners I deal with have an increased interest in their land when they see the things that are found. Many don’t have any idea that they have been walking/driving their tractor over such amazing finds. It’s lovely to be able to show them at the end of the day. Good informative video 👌
Very kind of you to watch susan
Excellent video Graeme, top advice. I like the plastic nails idea for holding down your ground sheet.
Thanks for watching young man!
Nice one Graeme chatted last night about part 2 and you’ve delivered. Spot on advice its so important to get on the right side of the land owner . It’s worked for me and i now have a few fields to detect on just from being polite . Look forward to part 3 . Great live chat last night . Cheers
Thanks for the kind words mark
Some cracking advice. I love the using the tarp idea and the shoehorn digger
Thanks for watching kevin
Thanks for the beginners guide, exactly what I have needed. Please keep going with them. I have been trying to watch you tube videos to learn and understand the process of detecting and many of them have left me despondent at the things things that occur, the mess that is made and worse still for me as a farm worker in my youth is the total disrespect for the land, leaving me wondering if I even wanted to continue. Please continue to teach. I have learned so much. 👍
Thanks for watching craig
Wise words as always Graeme, always a pleasure to watch.
even seasoned detectorists have something to learn or just make them think. Keep Well and kind rehards Ian
Many thanks for watching ian, hope you are all ok in anglia
Always great videos Graeme and always appreciate them mate👍🏻

Yeah those plastic nails are a great idea👌🏻

Thank you for watching rich
Good advice big G! I give away a lot of my finds which adds to the happiness of my wife 😂 she doesn’t like the mess. I have to put my phone in flight mode. Great video mate. Well done.
Thanks dale, interesting words my friend ,keep smashing it!
Nice vid again boss man👍sound advice is like liquid gold👏👏

Great video g man 👍👍
Thanks for watching tat mate
Brand new to the hobby, enjoyed watching your videos.
Not plucked up the courage to chap a farmer door yet to ask for permission but i will
Soon.lots of good tips on your videos.
I have a garrett ace 300i
Dont see many or should i say any on your digs??? Is it too much of a novice machine.
I did watch the video when you were saying not to brake the bank
So thats my starter have tried it out on the beach and waste land.(i did take on board what you said about all land belongs to someone but that was before watching your videos) cheers
Good luck James, and no the garrett are not all rounders, they are hopeless on the beaches unfortunately sir
@@unearthed-detecting-tv thanks for the reply what detector do you think is best for the beach and a good all-rounder thanks again
Hi james, the minelab vanquish 440 is now our best seller, works extremely well on all terrain including the wet sand
Thanks for sharing your knowledge, much Appreciated ,👍
Thanks for watching dave mate
I always like talking toy landowners but they are always busy but I always show what I find and they are always delighted to see what comes up even gave my first land owner some silver coins as I'm ver appreciative of then allowing me permission
Excellent matt
@@unearthed-detecting-tv just gotta be like that cause I could risk losing that area for any thing
@@matthewwatters5870 very true and wise matt
I've not started yet but a new found friend has loaned me his Garrett AT pro international with the possibility of buying it and he advised me to go down the beach as I don't need permission just to start with, is this right? And just to say some great advice and I can't wait to see your next video
Personally i would avoid the AT PRO
May I ask why ?
Hi phil, yes the AT part means all terrain which they are clearly not, but ok in land and fields
Hi Graeme really enjoyed this and taken a lot of information away , these are really interesting and informative. Please when possible would you have the link for the red pins for the ground cover , brilliant idea.
Will do will and thanks for watching sir
Good advice 👍👍
Thank you for spending the time to watch Catherine
Nice video overall; unfortunately, for Texas in the US, that type of plastic digging tool is useless. We have thick, clay gumbo-type soil that bakes as hard as a rock in summer. That tool would last less than a minute, but I understand you want to negate the damage from 'normal' digging and lesche tools destroying coins and relics.
Thanks for watching, yes we dont detect out in the states!
Always try not be messy but sometimes it's never easy like park areas it's always easy to dig clean fields here I've noticed just fall apart most days
Keep at it matt, you are obviously clued up with the hobby and you will only get better.
@@unearthed-detecting-tv I am not fully but there's always more to learn and I did and still do a lot of research as you don't see many people doing it especially in my age range as I'm 27
@@matthewwatters5870 you are certainly ahead of a lot of people already, well done matt
@@unearthed-detecting-tv yeah people just need to put some thought into it cause otherwise how will they learn cause when I detect just use tones and numbers just for an idea of things I've dug up at that area of numbers but always dig it all anyway
@@matthewwatters5870 very true!
Talking of digging implements, well trowels, will you be releasing a trowel to accompany the FieldMaster spade?
Hi paul, yes sir, hopefully sometime in April
@@unearthed-detecting-tv Cool, thank you :)
@@paulbates1710 hopefully will be a handy tool too
Bugger permission. Bring out the ir and thermal imagery. Moonlight shadows and good luck.
whats the "IR?"
@@unearthed-detecting-tv infra red night vision.
That sounds a good tool to use against nighthakwers, ive just ordered 3
Yep I've seen them do that and about 6" off the ground. If any one sees me doing that please shout over and tell me. Think I do it right and I'm conscious of doing the right technique . Enjoyed the video Graeme carry on with the good work. 👍
You have good technique jeff!!
I found these two films really helpful & interesting! I am still trying to get my first permission!!!
Good luck in your quest paula
There are some detectorists I've seen on my TV screen that need to watch this video, time and time again 😊😂
Some poor techniques out there mudface girl ,that is for sure!
I love our walkie talkies 💖🥰
Don't forget to charge them!
Great they are

Sound advice as usual Graeme. You were not at all reticent when you saw me swinging my coil a little above the recommended limits were you?, You told me straight, but, you know me and you know I welcome advice, unlike 'Roger' about whom I spoke to Melanie on the last dig, Roger Miller 'England swings like a pendulum do' Ask Mel, she will remember to whom I referred....
Thanks for the kind words bill, and yes you are indeed a a man who takes advice but gives it too, you are a legend!

Why on earth do you need a mole catcher because moles are good for the land famers don`t get it , take a spade and flatten the mole heaps .Any way good vid , gave you a thumbs up.
