I’m wondering why they even went the route of making this a roguelite. The aesthetics and combat look good enough for a more linear game. Probably would’ve left a better impression.
you say that but a) this dev is experienced in modern arcade fare, and an action roguelite fits that skillset better than a handcrafted linear game, and b) roguelites still do really well. makes complete, practical sense to do one.
HIOD proved Cuddle Monster can do a great roguelite.
problem is, I am still waiting for one.
@@MelMelodyWerner I honestly hate roguelites the whole concept of having to beat an entire game in one sitting is terrible to me, these games have great mechanics but not being able to stop playing and pick up where you left off is terrible

Looks and sounds fun, but also sounds too short for the price tag unless I just want to feel powerful and skilled at a game.
Love how survival modes, a staple of gaming for *decades*, is now "re-iterating the vampire survivors formula".
imo, its about incorporating and smoothly applying the roguelite elements of upgrading. That just wasn't done before

Wish I saw this review before I bought this on my switch. I literally beat this within the first 2 hours of playing.
I have no desire to go back because I have no upgrades to chase after a run. This is their biggest failure as a rogue lite. Everything is there from the start. No secrets or new characters or weapons….it’s all there. 🤷🏽♂️
If the likes of risk of rain and vampire survivors i are £3, this is £1 tops. You can't charge almost Hades money and come with a concept demo.
