2018 Seiyuu Awards - Best Lead Actor Award - Toyonaga Toshiyuki Victory Speech [Eng Sub]

- Toyonaga won the Best Lead Actor Award for his role as Yuuri Katsuki in Yuri on Ice the other day so I figured I'd sub the moment he receives his award and his short speech after for all his non-Japanese speaking fans. I hope you enjoy. :)
PS: The video and the subtitles are a biiit out of sync and I'm sorry for that - no matter how many times I burned the subtitles onto the video, the sound ended up being out of sync, so I manually manipulated the sound but that unfortunately had a negative effect on the timing of the subtitles. I cried when I learned that Tosshi won. He truly deserves this award. I already saw a video of this without a sub but now that I've seen he's acceptance speech with an eng sub,this made me cried harder. Tosshi,we're so happy for you! Congratulations!!!

I'm surprised no one mentioned the moment when he thanked his mother, when I saw it the first time I didn't know he lived only with his mother and that alone made me feel so proud of him and more grateful of his mother. So much respect for Tosshi ❤️
Yuuri would not be the outstanding character he is without Tosshi.

When he mentioned his mother and his complex with his height, I totally got him. As a short girl, I feel him. Sometimes, we have to make fun of our insecurities before anyone else does to soften the blow. I haven't watched Yuri On Ice but I know that he did great with Kiyose Haiji ❤
I'm always amazed at how Seiyuus can create completely different voices. I cannot hear a single note of Yuuri in his regular voice and it's unbelievable.

He did, but like 70% of it was him listing the animes in which he voice acted in the past 2 years or so so I honestly don't think it was very interesting. :'D

Wait didn’t Yuri on Ice come out in 2016?
It did, from what I heard (although this was *very* unclear during the ceremony itself, I think it was pretty badly organized) he won the award for Ohara Sora, of all characters, which I found kind of odd because Sora isn't... a very special character which requires nuanced voice-acting or anything. But from what I know *technically* he's being awarded for his entire career and Sora just represents all of his other roles, kinda. It's hard to explain. :')
