The fact that soren knew he was screwed the second ike was there just shows how fucking strong our beefy blue hair boy is.
It more like Soren own everything to Ike. Ike was his first friend he ever made and saved him from starvation when he was younger. Soren vowed to follow Ike since then, calling him his only friend. Could be also why Soren refuse to attack Ike, given how devoted Soren is to Ike.
That wasn't why he panicked, he just didn't want to fight Ike bc he prefers to fight alongside him.
That battle was ultimately about mc proving themselves, but Soren already acknowledges Ike as something worth following so ultimately it was meaningless.
It's more that Ike literally has nothing to prove to Soren. Soren is devoted to Ike and knows exactly what Ike can do. He doesn't wanna fight his boy

This might be a bit late but you can just replay the paralouge. Characters won’t get experience but you’ll be able to see dialogue scenes

I was curious as well. Unfortunately, nothing occurred when entering the battle with Micaiah equipped.

@@Fimbulvetr It's not supposed to be the character from any one moment in their lives. It is supposed to be the collective "spirit" and "memories" of the character. For instance, Sigurd freely talks about regretting leaving a son behind in death, but the Sigard featured in the game is cleared an embodiment of the Sigard from early in his campaign. The emblems in this game can remember any part of their lives without their "ghost like" form from reflecting an age outside their prime. So this Soren should know what happened in his life, including Radiant Dawn. I honestly think he is just that much of an asshole to straight up ignore other people from his previous life that wasn't Ike.
@@WildKat25 I would have to disagree, unless I'm misreading what you said. It definitely is ambiguous what Emblems are exactly, but I think Sigurd is "both" his early and late version self. Being "heroic protag knight" guy isn't exactly mutually exclusive to his post-chapter 5 counterpart.
I love how all the other Emblems meeting again is like two old friends who haven’t seen each other in years reconnecting.

Such a thing never happens in Ike x Soren. Soren isn't even mentioned in any of Ike's endings, and Soren's only says that he set of on a journey with "the only person he trusts"
Concidering how uncompromisngly blunt all the romantic endings in RD are about love and marriage... Naesala x Leanne, Micaiah x Sothe, Jill x Haar, Elincia x Geoffrey etc.

Tbaf, the JP side of FE basically semi confirmed that they're semi-canon. Heck, Ike was basically confirmed to love Soren in the Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn Memorial Book Tellius Recollection: The Second Volume (2016) art book. Their dialogues in the eng version was heavily wattered down compared to the jp version, and even then it can still be seen as very romantic coded.
