Many thanks to the Heritage Lottery Fund for helping make this video series possible: www.hlf.org.uk
Norfolk Wildlife Trust is the largest wildlife trust in the UK and 2016 marks their 90th birthday! To celebrate, Norfolk Wildlife Trust and Maddie are joining forces to create 9 videos for their #9for90 project. Each video will focus on one of the nine charismatic species chosen to represent Norfolk Wildlife Trust's eight Living Landscapes (plus an extra species to represent the urban landscape in Norfolk).
But what is a Living Landscape?
Sadly the UK's wildlife is in decline but the wildlife trusts have an ambitious plan to help nature recover. Living Landscapes aim to return biodiversity to our countryside by restoring, reconnecting and recreating wild areas. New nature-rich habitats will be created, joining together surviving refuges to allow wildlife species to move more freely and expand their range and populations.
NWT has identified a number of areas where they will be focusing their efforts. These Living Landscape project areas have been selected to cover some of the key wildlife areas in Norfolk and other areas where there are opportunities to create new habitats!

“Believe me my young friend, there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.” So says Ratty to Mole in Kenneth Grahame's classic novel 'The Wind in the Willows'.

I love how you didn't find one! Makes such a change from all the nature programmes where they make it look so easy!

Even without finding one, this was such a great and informative video! And true to scientific research - so much of doing field work is just looking for the thing you're studying. Can't wait to see the rest!
