It was an actual sacrifice Morissette made for their common future, because her father who she had been very close with and who had supported her musically until that point, made her choose between Dave and her family. She chose Dave, and her father cast her out their family. Morissette left all she had including all she had achieved with her music until then back for her family. Morissette sings about how she feels about the loss of her family in her song "Love you still".
I end up crying again. Everytime i watched this video, I end up crying. I've watched this about more than 10x already since it was released.

A beautiful wedding, Dave and Mori wrote all the music for there wedding, they married on the 28th of June 2021, near to all Mori's fans thought they married when the Video was released, they kept it a secret that they married until the Video came out 6 months later, if you look carefully you don't see Mori's family in the Video, Mori's father was against the wedding and the man she loves Dave Lamar, Dave asked for her hand in marriage from her father he said no, this is where the song LOVE YOU STILL comes from, her love for her father, and the reason why Dave say's Mori has sacrificed everything for him, as far as I know it's got better between Mori and her dad but still cool, her love for Dave and God is strong. Dave Lamar is a singer song writer producer and Editor plus videotogragher, he films near to every Video of Mori's, the live Performance from November Dave filmed it all, I forgot he was the producer of COULD YOU BE MESSIAH as well, he is a prolific song writer in the Philippinens and has a few albums out there, he taught Mori how to write what she was feeling into a song, what a blessing and what beautiful songs they have written together and will write together, PHOENIX, LOVE YOU STILL, WILL YOU STAY, MIRROR and TROPHY, and this year 2024 a new Album is on the way, be ready, anyway God bless see you both soon in another reaction of the fabulous Morissette. 😊
Excellent explanation John. Morissette did leave all of her savings equivalent to over $500k USD and walked away. Can you confirm she is talking to her father again. I haven’t heard news about that. Left the PH (Cebu) in 2011 way before she was popular.
@@cccullen I know family is everything in the Philippinens as it is in most Asian countries, this is why in the western countries everything is going to pot, there are Videos with family get togethers, not sure if her father is there, I cannot remember what he looks like, will have to Google old photos of Mori's family, is it wishful thinking, I pray that her father has seen what a great guy she married, but I'm not sure if it was just Dave, I think it was the losing control of his daughter and that another man was in her life, he should stand up and be a man and say sorry for the pain and tears he has brought himself and the family, Mori and Dave have forgiven him .
@@johnroberts5797 I know she is still in contact with her mother and sibling but the father I still haven’t seen any indication that they’re talking again. I’m m actually half Filipino, married to a Filipina for 26 years and lived there for 24 years in the same city that Morissette is from. You are very correct about the importance of family in the Philippines however there were a lot of things that were said (by the father, Amay) unfortunately I don’t see them re-uniting. His pride is clouding his judgement. We can only hope, Morisette and Dave do not deserve that treatment.
@@cccullen thanks for the update, hoping and praying for her father to come back to his senses, she loves her family so much, making his daughter to choose between Dave and him was wrong. I know she once could not go on stage because she was crying about something her Father said, shame on him, after everything she did for the family.

Dang guys! Ha ha ha I requested this about a month ago in an e-mail that I sent to you (I actually thought I might have heard you mention my e-mail in one of your reactions?). You guys had said in one of your videos that people could e-mail requests to you so I "did up" a whole list for you and this was one of them that I recommended (I even warned you to have lots of tissues handy ha ha ha!). I did mention to you about Dave Lamar and Mori's story in the e-mail and recommended some of the songs they've done together. You should go back and check them out, they are AMAZING when they sing together (in fact all of the songs in this wedding video are Mori and Dave's originals!) The song "Love You Still" that you reacted to is a "shout out to Mori's estranged father who didn't (still doesn't) approve of Mori's relationship with Dave (this is what he is speaking of when he talks about the sacrifice she had to make) and as you maybe noticed she walked down the aisle alone. I'm just so happy that I've been able to follow every single reaction you've done for Mori and look forward to many many more! As always, much ❤ from Canada!
Dave and Mori have created a music duo called From The Sea. They wrote, produced and sang all those songs in this video. Please react to them, especially since they've come up with a second album a few months back. Go check Mori's YT channel for more videos!! Thanks! 🤝
If you watch closely, you will see Dave playing guitar or collabing/singing with Mori on several video performances or moving around stage filming Mori's performances. Watch the credits on many of her videos and you will see that Mori's originals are co-written and co-produced by both Dave and Morissette. Dave also wrote Will You Stay and let Mori "steal" it for her Signature EP. Dave films and produces most of Mori's music video's of her original songs. Mori and Dave are an amazing couple and fantastic team. They wrote the 4 songs featured in this wedding video and released it as their "From the Sea" EP. They chose the name From the Sea because Dave's name (Lamar) means "the sea".
I truly believe in ones destiny … the stars aligned when Dave and Morissette met and they fell in love. Their love and support for each other is what true relationships and true love is all about. God bless their hearts and souls and their marriage.

All the songs from Mori and Dave's wedding were writen by them, and you can listen to them separately, Mori has added a song to the video of the wedding, ANG PAGHUWAT from Ferdinand Aragon a friend from Cebu Mori's home town, a beautiful duet, enjoy, then a new song WISHING WELL, she sang both songs on the 107.5bus, absolutely beautiful. 😊

On Dave and Mori, they had a difficult path to marriage because Mori's father did not approve of Dave. But as they mentioned, God brought them together. If it is God's will, He will make a way. Oh, and Dave's parents are missionaries, by the way. They established an orphanage in the Philippines where kids find a home.
Dave is also an excellent singer. If I will recommend one song of him, it will be Will You Stay. I think you both will love it. They co-wrote that beautiful song. Reason the name Dave Lamar is familiar, might be, you have seen it in credits.....for Directing, Cinematography , Co-Writing , Editing , Sound Mixing. He is one that wears many hats, Mori's Father , Amay , felt he was looking to prosper on Mori's talents and this is why there is this family riff.

I will not get into it here, but you should do a little research to understand what Dave meant by the sacrifice that Mori made for him. The fact that Mori is walking up the aisle alone might give you a clue.
