Timo's skill is #1 in the world even now. He is just getting older and stiff, however it was great to see him play well and make the finals! If he had been 5 years younger playing this well he would be #1, but oh well.

seems like timo's legs r tired and that shows in his face and body language . .. he used the right tactics though playing close to the table and taking the ball as quick as possible so that he wont have to use his legs too much
There was a mistake on commentary: Timo is the European king, not ovtcharov
But dima is the title defender from last years world cup and since this is also the world cup the ettc doesnt matter

Timo is my all time favorite among non-Chinese players. He’s better than Dima by all means (quality of game, sportsmanship and experience). So he deserved it undoubtedly. Congratulations Timo👏👏👏👏💐🏓

С этим новым мячем, у Овчарова построена неправильная тактика. У Болла, меньше скорость мяча, больше вертикальной составляющей, больше вращения, поэтому сопернику сложнее задать другое направление. У Овчарова, больше скорость мяча, меньше вращения, если соперник достает этот мячь, то просто меняет направление.

Ovtcharov form has really deserted the German player. I know he was injured but he seems to mechanical when he plays and far to stiff. Much better opponents out there.
i agreed until you said much better opponents out there.. like who (except for chinese players that arent ranked)? he still beat lee sangsu and many other world rank top 15 players... he lost against timo boll very closely, no shame there.. they re no. 3 and 4 in the world.. ofcourse dima had a better shape abt a year ago, at that time he even got to beat fzd, but he is still one of the best players in the world..
injury explains it, coming to this match after watching the FZD vs LGY match is like watching at 70% slow-motion, totally different ferocity and speed!

I think Timo's skill is world nunmber 1 now. However, his footwork is getting worse. If he has the strong legs as he had before, he must dominate the table tennis region.
