- There will be 3 comparisons for The Thief DVD videos, only 3 scenes though. Enjoy. I don't own anything in the video. All credit goes to the following person, Richard Williams (creator of The Thief and the Cobbler).

the original voice for One Eye sends chills up my spine. This One Eye just sounds like me trying to voice him
I honestly think there are better voice actors between Hollywood and online that could do a better voice for One Eye.
It’s okay
Idk, the voice kinda sounds familiar.
Omg same.
Man they even changed the absolute banger of a song for a lamer version of it.
Calvert version is more extended, that's why I like it.
The only thing, ONLY, THING, that the Miramax version does better is that they add voices of the slave women wincing when One Eye sits on them.
Calvert version, that's the audio I'm using. The Miramax version ignores the One-Eye Women.
also zigzag is more bluer
The music is different here than in MK4, of which's music I enjoy much more. It's also funny how they cut out the women dancing in the Miramax cut
No gonna lie, I ended up reading the first sentence in Vincent Price's voice.
The Miramax DVD is panned better
The Calvert DVD is scanned better
The biggest problem with this movie is the mishandling of Zigzag. He talks big, but fails to manipulate anyone or ever really get his way, though he gets most of the screen time and steals the show, he goes out in a most boring and pathetic way. Zigzag should have been related to one eye and hid that connection to become the vizier. His goal should have been to steal the balls all along, but the thief would either beat him to it or steal them from him. Zigzag, Tack and the thief should have been scrambling for the balls at the climax, thus creating an opportunity to give Zigzag a better ending that doesn't make him look like he's all talk.
One-Eye serves the purpose of the supreme threat/main antagonist, Zigzag plays a decent part as a secondary antagonist. Besides, he's entertaining so it doesn't matter that much.
In my opinion, I think being all talk is kind of the point. He's a really pathetic man who's main goal is really just to marry the kings daughter, and that's it. He was only able to get this far due to his position of power coupled with his superiority complex, which makes him really funny to watch in my opinion. He was never supposed to be a threat at all, that's One-Eye's purpose.
I like this version of one eye better. Its alot more crisp and menacing
The music ain't too bad.
The original music is a million times better
I prefer the music and sound effects of the Calvert version compared to the recobbled cut.
Now that is a hot take.
@@hesiod_delta9209 you think so?
I tend to like darker colors like the Miramax version, but i had to force myself to watch it. My eyes were drawn to the Calvert version so much more! Oh, and One Eye's Miramax voice sucks ass. The Calvert one was gutteral and unique.
THRONE!
The flag of the Mighty One-Eye.
Calvert dvd looks like an extended version, because it did not censor the one eyed woman, right Josh366lol2?
The Calvert version was released before the Miramax version.
i know. : )
I like the colors of the Miramax version more.
To me, Calvert is much clearer.
I like Calvert more. I can actually see things clearly.
How could you possibly say that? The quality is inferior, it's too dark, you can't make out any of the gorgeous intricate details, and everything bleeds together. It's AWFUL.
@Kandinsky hero The Miramax version is garbage. It looks objectively horrible, and you need to get your vision checked.
@@WobblesandBean that’s subjective. Some people would maybe like the blue tint. It’s just their personal opinion.
