You should write a book called “Letters to Landon” and write your story but in the traumatic times with him, sometimes it’s easier to write a letter to them directly in what they did, the impact and then letting it go. Im proud of you that you’ve gotten to where you are today. You will help so many people…so many teen moms that can relate.
I, too, was a teen mom whom dealt with insecurities, typical teen selfishness (bc I was still a teen but have forgiven myself for behavior of a selfish teen), mental/emotional/physical abuse that I felt I could not tell anyone because the fear of everyone hating my bf…my sons father. When they found out, they did hate him but it was bc they love me and I finally see that. The journey of journaling saved my life.

I 100% feel this. Last year I broke up with my highschool boyfriend. We got pregnant at 16&17 and went onto having 3 more kids. He was abusive on many levels and the relationship was very traumatizing for me and our kids. It took me EIGHT YEARS to realize I needed to leave. It's so easy to get wrapped up in protecting your abuser because you love them. But that is not what love should be. I've met an amazing man that is slowly healing my heart and my children's hearts, and is showing us what healthy love is. We are on a road to recovery from our trauma and I pray the same for anyone else in this position ❤

Agreed. I was friends with my dads girlfriends niece who was addicted to heroine. She was clean when I met her when she was freshly out of rehab but that did stay like that too long. Before she knew it she was drinking and using sex as a vice. Her year anniversary of sobriety I didn’t know until after we had a party and I bought her a cake. She was drunk the whole time
As the daughter of an addict i agree so much. There was so much guilt I felt around his addiction and I didn’t tell anybody about it until I was 27. Although it had always affected me mentally I felt like I had to keep his secret so everybody could keep the image he displayed to the outside world. Nobody wants to know about the nice fun person being demeaning, angry and neglectful when the doors closed and they have done drugs.
@@asc8308 yep my father and my step dad were both addicts, and thankfully both sober now. It’s hard dealing with the pain they caused and seeing them being the kind people they really are.
60 year old grandma here who stumbled on your channel about 3 months before you lost your husband; everything aside I feel compelled to tell you how brave you are, how composed you are and how proud I am of you. You have been through more than a young person should ever go through but you have come out strong and we are here for you.

As someone who watched her dad suffer with mental illness and lost him young, I can say telling both Landon’s story and your own will one day be healing for the girls. They’ll have questions and they’ll be able to approach the answers at their own pace in a way they feel comfortable with. My dad wrote his story of depression, trauma, alcoholism, and other addiction down in various ways and so I can safely say you are giving the girls one of the best gifts you can for all three of you. You are amazing and should be so proud of yourself and your strength for doing this

@J Liberatore I’m so sorry you had to go through that, I hope you have some good memories of your father and it wasn’t all bad. My dad was an alcoholic pretty much my entire life though he was never violent it was still hard to see every day, and my mom being addicted to Xanax big time (eventually she OD’d on it) it really is hard to see people you care about doing that to themselves, healing definitely takes time. I hope you are doing okay after what you went through ♥️
@@missyterry9930 it’s a tough life. He was sober and in AA by the time I was born but being able to piece together the how why when etc of his life at my own pace to really process and understand things has been amazing. I have a lot of good memories with him. It’s all convinced me to write my own story like Cam is doing because hard topics are important to have but when it’s your own kids hearing your baggage it should be at a pace they control and done in a way they feel comfortable with.

As a now 36 year old Mom, who was also pregnant at 16, I can attest to the strength and focus it's taken you to self reflect.
I did not lose my husband, we have been married since I was 17, but I lost myself for a long while. I didn't really fit in anywhere in the Wife or Mom world, but I made my own path.
I have much enjoyed watching you grow, blossom, and come into this new season with true strength and courage. I admire you. You are an amazing Mother, and I'm so proud of you!

I'm 51. I not only was involved with an addict for 20 yrs. I became an addict myself. I know the life you experienced. I know the secrets that you kept because I did it too. But I wasn't 14 or 16 I was an adult. I found recovery and I am 17 yrs clean from those demons but it is something I still have to work on daily. This is going to be healthy and healing for you as well as freedom from the demons as well as helping others too .

Hey Cam I’ve been watching your family for over a year now and I just want to thank you for being such a strong mommy for your babies. I also know how it feels to love someone with an addiction. As you stated in this video, when an addiction takes over they are not the same person. Watching your videos has given me a sense of comfort and I condemn you for striving to be the best version of yourself.
I can't stop thinking about this. I've been having similar thoughts and after hearing his story it has really changed my perspective on this. I've had those thoughts for years but after hearing how you've felt, I can't. It's so hard on others. Sure, it gets rid of your struggles, but it just puts them on your loved ones. After hearing your story and realising how much it hurts others, I just can't. It's so hard to deal with it. It takes years to get over this. I'm so, so sorry all of this happened to you.
My daughters dad passed away from his mental illness & addiction. I was 15 when we met & I also ignored so many signs. I was just so young & was pregnant at such a young age that I wanted us to work out. I was so depressed & angry for so long. He put me through so much trauma also. Thank you so much for making this.

When L passed I was at the lowest of my low and I pushed everyone away so when you shared his story it showed me that I didn’t have to suffer alone so I started getting help and now I’m in a mental health group at my school and I owe it all to you so thank you so much

What I love about your channel is, that, although it features your daughters, they are clearly not being used for fame, because mostly, you are the focus of the videos. I really appreaciate this because sadly not many content creators with small children do it like that.

Nothing growing up has taught us how to deal with something like this. An honestly it sucks. I was 18 when I woke up to my brother screaming call 911. I ran downstairs and found my mother sitting on the couch… gone.. I’m now 20 an I still haven’t greaved properly. I’ve been struggling with mental health for years and her death still effects me in ways I wish it didn’t. Your very strong for doing what you do! ❤️ we might not be going through the same thing but I can understand your pain. And knowing I’m not the only one feeling this way. There's no "How to" book showing you how to do the right thing, go through life, and make all the right decisions. You're doing a great Job Cameron and you're an incredible Mom. You're doing the best you can and that's all you can do. The best anyone can do is do their best and own their mistakes and you have done that and are continuing to do that. Try not to be so hard on yourself. Forgive yourself for anything you feel you've done and keep moving forward. You're doing a great job and I know that Landon is smiling down on you.
