I enjoy all of the testing and vidios on things we might do ourselves so thanks! And that nitrous vidio was epic!

Stock filters are usually designed to give good low end fuel atomisation at the expense of top end as well as muffling intake roar.
They are the first thing removed in road racing.
Alternative it to drill holes in the air box or outer cover to increase breathing at top end while retaining filtering.
Or stick an after market foam filter in it.

Great work! Thank you for putting numbers on the speculation of many. From my own tests, pulling the filter on the NT carburetor, heavy loads requiring torque like WOT hill climbs become very, very boggy. It seems like the velocity across the main jet has reduced in this situation the point where the engine runs very lean. To compensate, putting on the choke about 1/4 of the way seems to really help get up these hills. It would be really interesting to see what power and torque looks like on a Dyno right before stall under heavy load with different airfilter configurations. Similarly, drilling a couple holes in the exhaust internal tube really increased the low end torque on my build. The impact of different exhaust mods would be very interesting if you haven't looked into it already.

I actually found the air filter to be a bottleneck for me a while back... took it off along with sanding down my stock head and cutting the baffle in my exhaust. I got a fair power boost

I found a Uni Filter with a rubber boot that clamped on the carb. About the size of a soda can. Used it on all my motors and never had an issue.

Have you ever used a velocity stack? The old Amal carburettors from England used them somewhat. They came with a small mesh screen, but were also available without the screen. Kind of trumpet shaped...

Im going to be getting ahold of ya in near future. To order engine and parts. I have a 5 spd Schwinn cruiser. I think i seen a video where a jack shaft attached to frame seat post tube and somehow linked to rear derailer gears. Are you aware of how to do this? If so do you carry parts to make the rear gearing work.
Im impressed how, putting your equipment to the test. Ive been watching and learning. I've a collection of old Schwinns. I going to make a few gas bikes and looking to you guys. Thanks for sharing, videos are awesome

These little engines must have a FLAT torque curve cause peak torque went from 3600(?) To 6000(?) I know from motorcycles and other small engine I need you need a filter in place to tune properly, but nice to see someone testing it and showing the resultes

Plz data log and review a cold start hp/tq number v.s. running or hot
I'm curious if engine temperature is proportional to the engine performance and is there a point in which engine heat manipulates tolerance or drops peak power
