In the early 2000’s I attended Randy Clark’s “Global Awakening” conferences in Harrisburg PA multiple times. I lived 2 hrs away. I had three children under 8 that I would pack in the car ( my husband is not saved) or pay a babysitter so I could go alone. I was a stay at home mom so I had no income. Conferences back then cost 100$ pp. I was so hungry for God I would scrape up the money with loose change, not buy certain foods that week etc. By the time conference was over it cost me 200-300, books T-shirts, “ love offering “, babysitting, gas etc. I would pack my own food. It was such an effort to go to them
When I arrived in beginning of sessions (3 a day) they would start with why we should sow into their ministries. They would turn lights down and play a video blasting in our ears of how they are taking the gospel globally and why we should tithe. Then at end of session they would bring their students of the ministry up front so we would pray for them. We were promised impartation, activation and one on one prayer. So many crazy experiences happened, I wish I could write them all down. My last conference there was Todd Bentley. I had my children with me. I waited until 11:30 pm for him to stop bragging about himself that I walked out discouraged, tired and angry and I never went back. I got to the point that it was too much for nothing and God was waking me up to the apostasy that I was in. Praise God! It’s been a long road back to the word of God, unlearning the lies

I had a similar experience. I was sick and traveled 7 hours to some huge healing service. When I got there they asked for money many times, bragged about all they were doing and taught total nonsense false teaching. The fact that I was desperate for healing allowed me to see how worthless everything they were preaching was in reality.

I went to a Word of Faith Church where they kept saying: "Your breakthrough is right around the corner." That's one of the reasons I kept going there...They also said that praying in tongues was "praying the perfect will of God." Not every Church believes that, so you better stay here, because WE pray the "perfect will of God." and if you leave, you WON'T get your breakthrough...!!!............

I have had similar experiences. What I began to realize is that I was seeking to serve men rather than God. God can meet you in your own closet, more powerfully than any big huge conference. If we just would choose to see him, we would surely find him.
I think sometimes we just put our faith in the wrong direction, and the wrong people. We become mere men.

@@believein1 Nope, socialism is not the cure. But, Jesus made the miracle of feeding the 5,000 with three little fish and two little loaves of bread. I have an idea, how about you instead of paying for all of this stuff you have, take your money and go buy land and seed and fertilizer (make sure it is cows who pass gas because you know, you need to add to the ozone depletion) and herbicide and fungicide and a tractor and wave that hammer and sickle flag from your tractor as you plow up all that land so that you can contribute to the problem of world hunger.
Did you know the sickle on the USSR Communist Socialist flag was for farming, right? So instead of calling farmers as rural, ignorant racists, you get out there and do it. Or just do what you are doing now, complaining about someone else doing it and you not contributing in any way other than taking from those who have no money to buy food with.

Can you go out and feed ten people, and give them shelter and new clothes and make sure they have equal to what you have? Wait, as I recall, Somalia was one of those countries with massive starvation from drought, along with Sudan and other African countries, and America donated to them....while people who complained about rich Americans having more, took more of the food from children....and they were not Christians. Imagine that, non-Christians took Christian donations away from starving children.....non-Christians. And then shot people for trying to stop them.
But how about that? What do you do when you see non-Christians literally stealing food from children? Do you stop them or do you complain about how miserable you are when you have the internet and a device to be on the internet and in a warm place that has a comfortable chair...just so you can tell Christians how they are all ignorant racists. Funny, isn't it? You have more and complaining about not having more.

If what you are saying is true, then why don't you? Why don't you get off the internet, step outside, look around at the humanity around you suffering because they don't have as much as what you have and you take care of that inequality.
See, when you have more than someone else, that in inequality, right? So why do you complain so much about what you don't have when you are not out there helping those who do not have as much as you? Starvation is a terrible health crisis and it causes much suffering, but where are you? Sitting in your house snacking while complaining about Christians?
I literally want to see everyone of you who do this, actually go outside with food and you feed everybody that you see. Let's put it this way, transgender surgeries is not health care, abortions are not health care....starvation, plague and disease are. So get out there and you solve those problems, because right now, you have it good compared to a lot of people.
Why don't you go to hospitals and sit with sick and dying patients to bring them some comfort. Go to nursing homes. Go to homeless shelters and you take care of the health crisis called poverty. You do it instead of complaining about someone else doing it.

Isn't that the same argument unbelievers use? They say there's no evidence of God or no evidence of scripture being true. The problem with that argument, though, is that it's predicated on the assumption that everyone's experience has been exactly the same. I've seen evidence of God as well as of miracles. After seeing what I've seen, it wouldn't be possible for me to go back to not believing in those things. Nevertheless, I wouldn't be able to produce evidence that would satisfy skeptics. My stories or my arguments probably wouldn't mean much to them.

And the associate pastor I had a conversation with said they had read his books...felt like they had completely vetted his theology and doctrine, and the 'show would go on' after what was most likely a delay due to Bill's wife's illness. Sadly, it did go on, and JR is on the path of NAR destruction. I pray for GOD to open the eyes of the blinded before it is too late. I live in near John Lindell's Church, James River, and went there for a couple of years about 20 years ago. At that time, John Lindell met regularly and was mentored by John Marshal, the pastor of Second Baptist Church of Springfield. In those days, James River actually dropped the Assembly of God title. People that went there called themselves "Baptcostal", a blend of Baptist and Pentecostal. His sermons and worship service were very fundamental. We went to that church so my autistic child could be involved in their special needs ministry. Eventually we came back to our Baptist Church, but I still have friends and relatives that currently attend there. I noticed a BIG change in James River after the revival at Ashbury. After that they had their own revival bringing in Bill Johnson. Since then, I have kept up with them to see what is going on, through their youtube channel. They have definitely bought in to the NAR movement. Now I'm left with trying to help my friends and family members to realize this abrupt change in the church, and they really need to reconsider whether they should remain at James River or find a new church home. James River is not only a "mega-church" in Ozark, Missouri, but they have two satellite churches called the North Campus in North Springfield near Willard and the West Campus in West Springfield near Republic, (where I live). Through James River, this apostate religion of the NAR has infiltrated Springfield and the outlying communities. John Lindell's sermons are broadcast on Sunday mornings and Friday nights on our local T.V. stations as well.

Agreed! We, my family moved to the Springfield area about 10 years ago & it was the 2nd church we visited after moving there (the first week after moving, coming from a home church that was Baptist, we’d been invited by a hometown friend who’d been attending there for many years). We instantly felt at home & got plugged in to serving at any & every opportunity, including their women’s conferences, men’s conferences, & other community outreach programs they offered. And we’d had some red flags with some of their invited speakers, but it changed remarkably after COVID & the BLM riots, when it was as though they went WOKE, posting black squares on their SM profiles & much surfaced about the propaganda surrounding many they’d have come as guest preachers. We left in late summer/early fall of 2020. Their Christmas programs the last several years have been especially cringy, & exploitive.
But Pastor Josh’s videos have served to help MANY in our area recognize what is taking place there & redirecting their teachings back to the scripture! That had become our (my family’s) problem, we we’re putting far too much faith in the man, Pastor John Lindell, & not seeking out what the Bible says about everything, for ourselves. When we left, we stripped away all the teachings, from JRC, Passion City, Life Church, every single one that was connected to JRC in some way, shape or form, & discarded them entirely. We rarely watch TV, but listen to sermons, podcasts, watch CZcams videos/messages, myself, probably close to 100hrs/week, while I’m working, doing laundry, cleaning, etc. So this was pretty devastating for me…but I knew I could no longer ignore those red flags, they’d become to great & FAR TOO MANY/FREQUENT. So when I wanted to start listening to sermons again, I first started looking to churches who stayed open during lockdowns…the first one I came to was, John MacArthur. Of course this lead to others, Voddie Bauchum, Paul Washer, Jack Hibbs, Billy Crone, Tom Hughes & have since found a solid Bible teaching church.

It is place to stay away from. Note that they have embraced Bill Johnson, et al, I believe they should be marked and avoided.

I grew up at Central A/G, under Philip Wannenmacher’s leadership. Oh how I miss that man. There is absolutely NO WAY he would have EVER tolerated ANY of this nonsense.
We’ve attended there two separate times after being at James River, but it was just not the same. We attended another AG church in town, but are now at King’s Chapel AG (Not to be confused with the King’s Ozark/Branson/Springfield, etc. a they also call themselves King’s Chapel, but they are not connected to us at all.
We’ve been part of King’s Chapel for almost 14 years, and I believe God has used the leadership and congregation to help us heal from the horrific things we have endured (at James River and Evangel Temple).
I thank God for directing me to King’s Chapel!!!
