I personally thought they dumbed down the puzzles a bit too much compared to the first one. Don’t think it’s better than HB1 outside of the visuals and audio design
I just beat this the day before yesterday. What a phenomenal game and experience. Straight masterpiece like the first game. I’m glad you loved it too. Ninja Theory have been one of my favorite developers for a long time. The Hellblade series is very special to me as a gamer and a writer. Also, I feel your claustrophobia pain too my guy 👊😂

I'm playing through it right now and I keep using the photo mode haha it's nuts how good this game looks and the options it gives for placing lights. The auditory experience is also amazing
This game definitely hit different than most games. I wasn’t a huge fan of the first one until I started to do some reading on the story. I played the first one before I played this one and let me tell you, this game deserves many awards. Not game of the year, but definitely a refined piece of art. I won’t go into details but the metaphors of this story and what they leave to interpretation is incredible. Can’t wait to see if they make a third

It started development around 2019-2020, but you have to factor in covid as well which was awful for pretty much every developer. I think they also wanted to wait for UE5 improvements
If Xbox continued to produce games like this. The console war would not of honestly been so lopsided. This was the full power of the Series X on full display but they never produced this level of quality in their games. And they didnt focus on hyper realistic games they wanted games like Hi-fi rush, sunset overdrive, etc
This game is the complete opposite of what Xbox should be doing. Spending 5 years for an average of 5hr game just isn’t it. Especially when they sacrifice gameplay and content for graphics. Hi fi rush was the best game they release in a long time.

Not watch a movie. This is someone trying to show off their directing/film making chops. It’s a reason Hell Divers 2 is such a massive success.
Games come in different shapes and sizes and this one absolutely has its place as a game. It's like saying novel games aren't made for gamers because you just see story and can't beat anything up. They ARE games. They just aren't your TYPE of game.
