Aurora - Spyro sona speedraw!

Hi! I'm not dead!! I know it's been a while since I've posted here, I've just been working hard on comms and dealing with IRL situations for the past few months. But I wanted to pop in with this cute little speed-draw for now! I wanted to make myself a spyro sona, because TLOS is a huge part of my childhood and I used to make so many spyro ocs/sonas back then. It makes me so happy making myself one again.
I'm hoping to be done with comms soon and finally create the next moodboard speedpaint!! Hopefully animate something too, we'll see!

I must know! What technique are you using when you make the entire line art space colored in, and turn it into a gradient color? Like before you start adding the other colors and stuff? It looks more reliable that any old bucket tool! Loved this piece btw!!!

I use procreate, but this goes for pretty much any program! I use the "wand tool" which selects whatever space you click on! It selects whatever is inside or outside of closed off lines (and it can select the lines too!), so in this case I selected the outside parts of the lineart (including any gaps) and then inverted the selection! The gradient is pretty easy! I just filled it in with one color, changed my current color to the next part of the gradient, and used a big airbrush/soft brush and filled in the lower half! Make sure the soft brush you're using is very big in size, it helps make the gradient!
